@videochemist Cheers, yeah you could use an emulator but the idea was to use the original hardware. It's mostly for people who make chiptune where they tend to use the original hardware. I thought you could either use it to compose on the gameboy or carry out a set live or possibly make some VJ program for the gameboy. Although it was still mainly done because I wanted to give it a go, pushing old hardware and learning about video signal production in the process is all fun.
I went to a gig a little while ago where they used a DS in a few songs. It was an interesting mix of sound. Come to think of it, I shot a few videos of that, so I should really stop being lazy and upload it...
Could you show how you did it? how long did it take you?
