@Venelaces, his voice has changed over the years. Some say deteriorated. But that's just the course of nature. at 3:38 he's just taking a dramatic pause, I'm sure. The highest note here is F#4 and I know he can sing up to an A4 comfortably (without shouting) on a good day.

On a separate note, I find it interesting how it's really Paul that sings the melody in the chorus. Ringo sings the "upper" harmony an octave lower. Makes me wonder how the song would sound if Ringo didn't sing low.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a new Beatles song. All you need is two of them singing and it's a Beatles song. If one of them is just playing, then it's sort of a half-Beatles song. "Gimme Some Truth" for example, John singing and George on guitar, is close but not quite, for me.
