Norm MacDonald has more hilariously witty lines in 1 minute than most comedians do in their career.

He's like the anti-Mencia or the anti-Sandler or the anti-Williams. Instead of being all hyper and loony and out of control like some spastic 1st grader, he just sits there, talking in sort of a casual bar-room style, unassuming and relaxed, like he's known whoever he's talking to for 20 years, and by the end of every bit, you're pissing yourself. He is so advanced yet so casual about it.

I've rarely seen Letterman laugh so hard as he did during the play story.

Norm's one of those few guests that Letterman genuinely seems to just LOVE to have on. At one point when Norm was fired from the Weekend Update bit on SNL in the 90's Letterman had him on and made a comment about having Norm coming to do the news on his CBS show. I honestly think Letterman would have gone through with that too.

Agreed, Dave seems to truly respect Norm and his humor. Norm always kills on the talk shows. He reminds me of Mitch Hedberg in the sense that his humor is, for lack of a better term, very silly.

Listening to guys like Norm and Hedberg leaves me with that feeling of "how the hell does someone come up with something so bizarre and brilliant?". Norm is a genius.
