  • Well what about products such as mineral powders? For example I have 2 shades of the MAC Mineralized Skin Finishes and I use them interchangably depending on the season. I've had them for a while now and I've barely put a dent in them. How long should I keep them?

  • @LulaTresJolie Powders are ok, they last longer depending on whether you are are using them in a kit or personal. I think personal its ok you in the video I said that Ive had some shadows for years. you have to watch for bacteria and contamination especially when your brushes and powders are being used on several ppl.

  • This was great! Thx!

  • What about loose powders (e.g. mineral powder foundation, loose bronzing powder) ? You mentioned blushes but those are pressed so with the higher liquid content would it spoil sooner than the loose makeup?

  • @tripudium17 I think that loose powders last a long time you should use my tips as a guidline and throw your products out if they don't perform well for you and if they become contaminated your personal stash should last the longest!

  • Helloi there! I have 2 questions.. what about eyeshadows? and I have ton of unopening packages such as marscara, lipstick, eyeshadows, etc.? When should I toss them out? Once you open the package that is when you have expire date start? Please explain.

  • @Learning29 Hi! No worries Unopened packages are fine:) especially the shadows! With the lipstick and mascara, it just depends on 1) how long you've had the unopened package.

; 2) I would just smell the product and if you're still not sure, swatch the product on the back of your hand. ( I can tell if a lip gloss or lipstick is going to irritate my skin because my hand starts to turn red in that area :) I hope that helps!

  • Great video! My boss actually told me yesterday that she has been using the same Clinique 3-step products for over 5 years. After I picked my jaw up off the floor I told her I would look into the expiration dates of these products, but assured her that 5 years was far too long and she should throw them out immediately. Now I can give her the facts!

  • @gidget420 Heeey Gidget! Thanks for watching yes please tell her to toss that stuff asap!!! Perfect Timing right?

  • This is so crazy, because I was just saying that I have to sort out all the items I have and never use. I was talking to a lady last night who was telling me about the importance of checking the expiration dates on certain products. Thanks for this great video ladies! Sophia, your makeup and hair look AMAZING! Love that top too. LOL!

  • @stillirise Thanks girl I appreciate the comment and the compliment! If theres one thing you should change no matter what, it's mascara I think everyone keeps those way too long and especially the sample ones that they get as gift with purchase! I cringe when I see an applicator for eyeshadow from an old sample someone got at an event!:)

  • 3 years?! I just choked lol

  • You have to use nail polish thinner. Nail polish remover will completely ruin the polish!! Don't do it!

  • @meldecenco Hi Hun! Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! We hear you! I've been doing this for a long 39 yrs and it hasn't failed me! I don't disagree with you though, maybe it ruins some. Please respond to this comment with the Nail Polish thinner Brand that you use! I haven't ever seen one so I will pick one up!:)

  • I have google this topic alot there alot of opposing information on this one. I personally do write when i open something on the package and go by the lil label on the back.
