Here's something I never quite got: How did GLaDOS get back control of the facility while you and Wheatly were on the moon? Sure, Wheatly was out of the building, but he was still connected and in controll at the time, and GLaDOS was still in her potato form. So how did she fix the reactor core and get control of the mechanical arm that she uses to "solve" the problem?
@beterbomen Well remember, Chell had hooked her up to that port thing & because the Stalemate button was probably destroyed when the bombs went off, GLaDOS probably had to hack herself in, instead of doing a regular core transfer. That would also explain why you see her "head" on the ground & not on her "body" when Chell's pulled back in. So she took control of the arm, disconnected Wheatley, & connected her head back to her body after hacking in. But that's my opinion.. :/
Probably right, GlaDOS had been in control of the facility for so long that she probably knows the system inside out, a core like Wheatley would probably be incredibly easy to hack, especially when he was preoccupied with being in Space and everything.
Portal 2 does have some of the most badass lines ever.

So, wouldn't be way easier to just let go of Chell on the moon and let her float into the space along with Wheatley instead of sending her all the way back up? Why did GLaDOS save Chell's life if would be easier to let her die in space?
@umagarandyorton619 I think GlaDOS know Chell will return to Aperture Science, and thats why she let her go outside. Because GlaDOS don't want to lose Chell.

@SuperSketch008 maybe, but I don't think so. That's my opinion, anyway, but, [SPOILERS AHEAD] in the first Portal, GLaDOS also made a dick move when she tried to burn Chell. And making Chell incinerate the Companion Cube was also a dick move. I don't think GLaDOS would care about dick moves and backstabbing if she just wanted to get rid of Chell. My opinion, though.
@umagarandyorton619 At the time Chell was in space, GLaDOS had a "surge of emotion" with Caroline in her brain, so she saved her life. Then, she deleted Caroline, and then thought about the easy way. But I do agree with you.
@umagarandyorton619 It's pretty obvious that by the end of the game, she lets you go because she actually has come to like you, though she refuses to admit it and pretends that was just a now "deleted" part of her. It's also pretty clear from "Want You Gone" that she doesn't actually want that.
But she learnt that lesson AFTER she saved Chell (Right after deleting Caroline) and not BEFORE. She said something like "Deleting Caroline has told me another valuable lesson etc...".
@DreameverCompany Did she really? I don't think she has even deleted Caroline. I think that, like CirqueDuFreak2000 said, she has come to like Chell and doesn't want to admit it. She doesn't want to kill her because she likes her (friendly, of course, lol), but she also doesn't want to admit that, so she let her go. That's my opinion, anyway.
@umagarandyorton619 she saved her because caroline (the kind hearted worker) was taking over GLaDoS and made her save her,and when she deletes caroline from her "personality" she doesent want to got through trying to kill chell again,so she lets her go.

If she really had completely deleted Caroline, then the GLaDOS I know wouldn't let Chell go after "regaining" her personality. If she hates Chell so much, she would've most likely filled the lift with neurotoxin or something like that, and would've killed her. We can't believe EVERYTHING GLaDOS says, we know that well. GLaDOS has the power to control the facility, she could be faking it. We don't know for sure.
@Halo117P Yes. There's no way to know what she really did when she said she deleted Caroline. Again, I really doubt she did, but unless Valve tells us exactly what's going on (which I doubt they will), then we can't know.

@umagarandyorton619 It is possible that she deleted it, but the deletion takes longer than what she said. She said she deleted Caroline, but Caroline was still fully inside of her. She let Chell go for fear of Caroline leaving her while Chell was still in the building and killing her. One reason she warned her to not come back.

I think she deleted Caroline for a reason. If you listen to the deleted Caroline scene it's obvious she was forced to be a part of GLaDOS. That could've triggered in her a deep bitter hatred inside her that she released.
Besides as we saw in the Wheatley chase sequence he didn't bother fixing the truuets so why whould've he fixed the Neurotoxin?
Also deep inside I see an idiot in GLaDOS so I whouldn't be surprised she whould've fallen for morality.

Ah completely forgot the final battle. The time limit is so pathetic I didn't notice the toxin. Also the turrets part was a serious fuck up. Also with fallen for morality I mean following what she thinks is right and not (In a robotic sense) follow the logical option. My point was that there could be another option then killing Chell after GLaDOS deleted caroline

I don't really believe that because GLaDOS IMO doesn't show pretty much at all any sense of honor so it whouldn't make sense that she'd try to hide anything.

@TheBddan013 hum. It's not that much of a happy ending, though. Chell ended up in the middle of nowhere, without knowing where to go. Also, they didn't actually need a happy ending, at least not in my point of view. If a game's ending is poor is one thing, but if it's villain-sided or sad, is another thing. I think if a game's ending is happy or sad it really doesn't matter, as long as it's not poorly executed. I would be sad and mad if GLaDOS killed Chell, but as long is not a POOR ending...
@iamnotamouseok I don't know, man. About Caroline would not allow it, yeah, she wouldn't, but if Caroline REALLY got deleted, probably GLaDOS would kill her after that, because technically she already paid the debt she had with Chell when she didn't let her float into space. In my opinion, what happened was either 1: Caroline wasn't deleted, at least not completely, and 2: GLaDOS doesn't hate Chell. Oh, and Merry Christmas :)

And making Chell incinerate the Companion Cube was also a dick move. I don't think GLaDOS would care about dick moves and backstabbing if she just wanted to get rid of Chell. My opinion, though.

@umagarandyorton619 It's pretty obvious that by the end of the game, she lets you go because she actually has come to like you, though she refuses to admit it and pretends that was just a now "deleted" part of her. It's also pretty clear from "Want You Gone" that she doesn't actually want that.

She doesn't want to kill her because she likes her (friendly, of course, lol), but she also doesn't want to admit that, so she let her go. That's my opinion, anyway.

If she really had completely deleted Caroline, then the GLaDOS I know wouldn't let Chell go after "regaining" her personality. If she hates Chell so much, she would've most likely filled the lift with neurotoxin or something like that, and would've killed her. We can't believe EVERYTHING GLaDOS says, we know that well. GLaDOS has the power to control the facility, she could be faking it. We don't know for sure.

@umagarandyorton619 It is possible that she deleted it, but the deletion takes longer than what she said. She said she deleted Caroline, but Caroline was still fully inside of her. She let Chell go for fear of Caroline leaving her while Chell was still in the building and killing her. One reason she warned her to not come back.
I do HOPE she didn't actually delete Caroline though,

I think she deleted Caroline for a reason. If you listen to the deleted Caroline scene it's obvious she was forced to be a part of GLaDOS. That could've triggered in her a deep bitter hatred inside her that she released.
Besides as we saw in the Wheatley chase sequence he didn't bother fixing the truuets so why whould've he fixed the Neurotoxin?
Also deep inside I see an idiot in GLaDOS so I whouldn't be surprised she whould've fallen for morality.

"fallen for morality?" also, wtf does Wheatley's neurotoxin have to do with anything (by the way, Wheatley did fix the turrets- after he realizes they're still defective, the next couple of rooms have REAL turrets. And he fixed the neurotoxin, which is there in the final battle and if your timer runs out will actually kill you).

Well, I suppose I could ask this, though- on what grounds do you say robots can't have honor or pride? And I mean within the world of Portal, since there's no real life equivalent to compare against and it's not really relevant what robots are like in other stories.

@TheBddan013 hum. It's not that much of a happy ending, though. Chell ended up in the middle of nowhere, without knowing where to go. Also, they didn't actually need a happy ending, at least not in my point of view. If a game's ending is poor is one thing, but if it's villain-sided or sad, is another thing. I think if a game's ending is happy or sad it really doesn't matter, as long as it's not poorly executed. I would be sad and mad if GLaDOS killed Chell, but as long is not a POOR ending...

About Caroline would not allow it, yeah, she wouldn't, but if Caroline REALLY got deleted, probably GLaDOS would kill her after that, because technically she already paid the debt she had with Chell when she didn't let her float into space. In my opinion, what happened was either 1: Caroline wasn't deleted, at least not completely, and 2: GLaDOS doesn't hate Chell. Oh, and Merry Christmas :)
