All Dachshunds are like that. Our male is that way, he barks at everything and everyone, until he gets to know them. Then he's sweet as sugar to them.
You're *brave*, taking them out like that. We raised our dachshunds from puppyhood, adored them, pampered them, treated them like the evil little kings they were & they STILL bit every single person (& dog) they could catch, other than family.
@Ivyandstone My male mini is like that. I have to keep a spray bottle of water near the back door in case someone comes over! It's embarressing and a little scary. He nipped at one of my daughter's friends. The spray in the face/rear-end works wonders. "Evil little kings" you got that right. Sweeeeeet little love-bug/snuggle-bunny to family members, though. :))
We took our two minis to a blessing of the animals and they never shut up. The priest came over and said, "Well, we'll start here with an exorcism..." lol
ohhhhhh i wwouldnt even DREAM of taking my Daushunds to a dog park! when one of thems not with her sister there act like the dogs not there but then BAM!!!!! both of them together they will kick yo ass! turns out dauschunds are EXTREMLY good gaurd dogs...
I have a minidachshund. And a vet once told me they do this cause of theyre breed. They will pretty much go up to every living thing and be like HEY! IM BILLYBADDASS! DONT FUCK WITH ME! they are a very proud breed.
Awww :o) This is why my snausage doesn't goto the dog park, lol :o) The name of the dog park in my neighborhood is the "Good Dog Park" And mine are definitely not good dogs, hehe.
My doxies do the same thing. I am part of a dachshund meetup group and as soon as there are about 10 doxies together any other breed gets kicked out of the area. Other doxies are fine. They even know when a dog is half-doxie so they get to stay, but any other breed comes around and all the doxies collectively kick'em to the curb.
The thing about wiener dogs is that they don't realize that they're wiener dogs. Ha ha...my sister's wienie growls and shows her teeth at other dogs at the dog park.
You are quite correct! This video was taken right after he was rescued from his elderly owener who 1)Did not walk him and 2) Only fed him junk and no doog food when she passed away. Check him out in a more recent video (Sammy Wubba Wubba Doo - staring his also rescued brother)and you'll how much slimer he is looking. He has gone from a life threatening 32 pounds to a much more svelt 19! He is still getting many walks and eating his diet food so he's still slimming down,we'll post more vids soon!

Schutzeman, Dotties are born with extra skin so they CAN get fat. They were originally bigger thicker dogs cause they were used for hunting badgers.
