  • i hope the android community will be mature enough to maximize the power of the android phones. i can see dual processors sometimes being taken down by slower single core processors on reviews, making it for difficult for buyers to appreciate such, thus sometimes they still go for the other market which will be the iphone.

    just my opinion.

  • veryy good review!!! :)

  • Been a while since this video went up, anything bad about the phone in the long run? I'm debating this phone or possibly waiting for Apple to release the iPhone 5.

  • wtf u idiot, u r supposed to talk about Motorola ATRIX not iPhone 3GS

  • u spoke more on your iphone 3 then the motorola atrix !

  • help! should i trade a like new motorola atrix for a 64gb ipod touch and $40? lol

  • As far as the lagginess ..that can be fixed. Unlock bootloader root it. Install custom rom . And install a launcher. I like adw. ;-)

  • Hey Fred ... nice video ... i too own a motorola atrix with otterbox cover ... what are the major task you use this phone ... can you list some apps that you have been reviewing ??

    thanks

  • LG optimus 2x was the first phone with a duel core

  • thanks for the good review! This has helped me with my decision to buy this phone.

  • Dude, I'm sorry, but you should do more research on what you're reviewing before you make your review. You didn't even know for sure if the Atrix was the first cell phone to have a dual core CPU.

  • and the atrix is only the begenning of awsomeness the new life and new civilization if smartphones i love my atrix gingerblur /webtop mod just a beast

  • I own an iPhone 4 and love it. The Motorola Atrix looks/sounds amazing. Your review was top notch in my books. I appreciate the fact you seem to be someone whom enjoys tech, and not blinded into believing there is only one decent platform. iPhones and Droid phones (windows phones too) are all decent platforms. Again, the Atrix OS such an awesome piece of hardware!

  • off topic of the phone. lovin the razer keyboard and mouse :)

  • Excellent review... thanks very much. I totally want one of these phones!

  • ofcourse the video recording in 1080p is for viewing on PC

  • I purchased my atrix4g about a month ago and justy saw your video. It was amazing. Most of what you covered has happened in that month. he battery is no where near as grat as they want you to believe, but with patience, it comes to you when your usage rtequires a boost of the battery and as long as you ave access to a wall plug, all is well.. We are i the rocess of removing our homephone and so I will be interesteed to see the ability of ythe Atrix to work that way.

  • Hey man, nice job doing a review on the Atrix, you did a better review than those big reviewers. Do you know what is the name of that otterbox case? i was thinking of getting my dad one since he joined the android camp (he was with blackberry)

  • Its weird watching a video about the motorola atrix, on my motorola atrix :o

  • why did you buy it?

it seems a lil bit like you don't like the phone and would prefer your iPhone?

why didn't you buy a iPhone4? if you like your old iPhone that much?

  • I wanna get the atrix over the iphone but then I think with ios 5 and the powerful A5 arm cortex 9 processor in the iphone 4s/5 I'm definitely waiting.

  • the jerkiness on the atrix is caused by motoblur. its a very laggy android skin

  • i find that if your using the Atrix with fido the internet doesnt seem to have a strong wave as on an iphone .. My facebook widget doesnt load updates or messages and the markets doesnt get connected . but the browser works.. that is weird ..

    any tip on that?

  • why do you talk in your videos like you're talking to a bunch of little kids?

  • how fast screens can be change is hard coded in blur interface code. In cyanogemod you can lower this value so the screens can switch much faster. I've this on old G1 and is faster than this.

  • Holy cow awesome phone. Does anyone knows will it work in Croatia on GSM bands? I would buy one if I knew that it would work. I think that its not coming to my country :(

  • do you know if its posible to run a windows operating system off it cause i would love to turn it into a tiny windows xp tablet pc

  • @dylbyl1234 No but you can always remote into a windows machine using RDP or VNC.

  • So what do you think about the locked bootloader?

  • @jdh10475 Not crazy about it, I think Motorola is backing down from using it and I can always root it.

  • I picked up an HTC Desire S last week and I have to say, even though it doesn't have cutting edge specs (1ghz processor, 768mb RAM) it runs smoother than any android phone I've used otherwise. People tend to get very caught up on specs but some companies (like HTC, I believe) really know how to get the most out of what they have to work with.

  • @LeKioskMusic Very true. I've seen comparisons and there is very little difference in speed, probably due to the Android OS not being optimized for dual processors. The only remarkable benefit is streaming flash content.

  • @MadBadVoodo I bet you still love your Droid X!!!

  • Useless trivia from a nerdy Telecom Guy: HSDPA - High Speed Downlink Packet Access. They might also use HSUPA - Same as above but for the Uplink. This has to do with 3G Packets sent from your phone to the radio tower and back down to the phone. Good video as always!

  • Wow! I'm impressed Fred! There are not allot of folks jumping from iPhone to android. I have loved my android HTC incredible for 18 months after being a loyal blackberry user for over 10 years almost the beginning.

Check out k9 mail for email unless you need work enterprise solution then look at !

The HTC email sucks and so does the address book. Navigating the android market is not as good as the iPhone but they have continued to improve it!

The you tube app is awesome and you will really e

  • Great video Fred. Trade you my iPod touch for your iPhone :)

  • i love this phone had it about a month now...and i say get an otterbox commuter case for it...its the best. only thing i've noticed that it will lag when the memory starts to go , so task killer is a must

  • @pray4chicken Funny you should mention the Otterbox case, at the end of this video I install it :) I know the video was a little too long :) Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting my friend.

  • i never had a iphone.i have my milestone and old q9th with windows mobile 6.1,replacement of atrix be droid bionic.and no don t like screen saver either earer take a cloth wipe it off.and have a great weekend fred might get atrix maby this year trough renew tmobile

  • Great review, very helpful. I am eligible for an upgrade from my Iphone 3g and am in the process of deciding what to get.

  • My wife loved that phone worked great for 3 weeks then it started freezing up, traded it back on the 29th day for the iPhone 4

  • Great Review Fred! You Rock!

  • I am just a plain old text and phone guy. I really don't have any use for the internet on my phone. Some of my friends have the droids and they all complain about battery life.Hell one of my friends still doesn't have a cell phone, and one of them don't even have a computer in his house.

  • @biguy525 That's cool. I think plain ole cell phones still out number the smart phones so you are still the majority my friend!

  • I still prefer iPhone 4 to all other Android phones. Android has a ton of EXTREMELY shitty apps and most of them suck hard. At least on the iPhone you have a ton of high-quality apps.

  • @supermaucat Both app stores have gems and junk. Search for how many Fart apps are now on the iTunes store :) I've owned both, each has it's pros and cons. I'm just happy we have a choice.

  • Nice review Fred, well I havn't graduated past just a regular cell phone as of yet but what I would like to know is how much is the monthly cost to be able to do all that stuff with your so called phone ?

  • @Dambo96 My "So Called Phone" costs $30 more over a normal cell phone plan, that is the typical cost of a data plan these days.

  • fred you are comparing a google product to an apple product of course theres glitches in android. i've found several on my samsung galaxy s

  • @MatrixOne976 I agree my friend

  • @fredhart have you tried google voice yet?

  • is there any phone company/brand that hasn't tried to copied the Iphone yet?.I mean don't get me wrong because I have an android phone and i love it but dang man come out with something original, anyway great video Fred.

  • @TDF090779 I feel the Atrix has stepped beyond the iPhone4 in power and unique features such as the biometric and Webtop functions but I'm sure it will be short lived once the iPhone 5 arrives :)

  • haha, I just converted to the iPhone 4 after being a blackberry man for 10 years!

  • @ArtisanTony You can't go wrong with the iPhone 4, it is the standard.

  • Very nice phone, great review. Keep it up Freddy!

  • @monkeyslaye Thank you very much
