The drum they use are Pearl Championship series, and if you paid $690 for a Yamaha snare, or any snare, you were ripped off (unless that's Canadian currency), the MTS drums just make $610. I'm sure exactly how long he's been playing, but he made BD at 17, which is the youngest they accept for the A corps, so I'm guessing a while. You can ask him at his channel, kmtobia.
