Modern way is to now keep it up above head height out of traffic, so there is no chance of the ball coming out of your hands in the secondary movement.

Also its easier for the ref to see any foul.

Just curious why the keepers weren't securing the ball after going up for the high ball? That goes against everything that i have learned.
