  • No all you from tunisia that is defending this guy should shut the fuck up. HE DID TEST POSiTIVE. He took ADD and amphetamine without prescription for the drug. Even if it didn't help him get better its still cheating.

  • hahahaha, still don t believe ? you should youuu sht up and wach the tunisien champion .goooooo mellouli you are the best . TUNISIEN SHARK

  • @RtRdOh33

So what he took ADD meds to improve his concentration while studying, he proved that he doesn't need any drugs to enhance his performance, he only needs his arms and legs, besides any athlete that is trying to enhance his physical performance would not opt for ADD meds but rather go for something else, he was young and made a mistake without knowing it.

He proved himself AGAIN this week winning ANOTHER gold @ the 1500m.

  • @RtRdOh33 A strong argument hinges upon proper grammar. Cheating: "Act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, esp. in a game"

"Even if it didn't help him get better its still cheating."

For it to be cheating, it would have to be used with the intention of gaining advantage of some sort. Therefore, if the drugs were not taken as such, it's not cheating.

  • After Fina 2009, now the whole world knows that Mellouli is the best!

  • well..just shut that stinky, hatred-fuelled gob of yours.....i am sure you are from a neighbouring country with an inferiority complex vis a vis the Tunisians

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP !

what drugs u son of a bitch

  • Shut the Fuck up , grant hacket is the best 1500 meters swimmer in history , when his time is over now there is a new champion who will complete his name is Oussama Mellouli , so shut up and just watch how nice he is , and how clear he is finishing on hackett , and there is rule in the doping test if you have any previous doping +ve you have to do in the next time , its a must and he did doping test and not just once , a lot in usa and in beijing .

  • Tunisie ye dawle. Oussama you are the best ;)

  • Mellouli tested positive for steriods in 2007, and this olympics improved his time by 16 SECONDS, he's clearly juiced up on drugs

    MABROUK POUR LA TUNISIE

    we are PROUD of you.

OMG I wish to meet you here in the states to celebrate with all the Tunisians.

    BRAVOOOOOOOO

  • come on tunisia!!!

  • Mellouli was jumping out of the pool straight away after the win, walk around as if he just swam a 50m race instead of 1500m.

Hackett is a pro swimmer and yet he is so out of breath after the swim and Mellouli was walking around not heaving his breath at all.

Either he is a cheat, or he has more stamina than the rest of the swimmers in the world.

I mean looking at Phelps, he was heaving too after a 200m swim, but not Mellouli.

  • Is this your way to say congrats to an Olympic champion friend??

Well, this guy had been blamed before which means that during the JOs, he was under heavy control!

The reason why he looked fine after the swim is that he saved his energy during the last match as he had problems in his back so he didn't wanted to put him self at risk, and because he just got a gold medal!!

Congratulations Oussama, that was a nice performance. This is only what deserves to be said!

    Friendly,

    Houssem

  • mabrouk Oussam le medail d'or olympique!!! 5amsa we5mis

  • Know is Olympic Champion!!!

Congratulations from your friends from Portugal

  • The butcher of Tunisia Ben Ali is already celebrating and thanked his leadership for Oussama's victory. Congrats to Oussama but I hope the Tunisian people do not fall for Ben Ali's traps. He is one of the world's worst tyrants.

  • This comment has nothing to do with sports. Let us enjoy the Victory away from politics.

  • Melloli just won Tunisia's first gold in swimming, I am so happy!

  • SAMEE OMGG!! Whosss tunisiaann here??! (H)

i ammm & soo proudd to bee! <3

  • GO MELLOULI. LONG LIVE TUNISIA.

  • it was said that he consumed amphetamines,so he's not a cheater...he's simply a junky...

  • No, no he did not take anything. He deserved that Medal. Period.

  • I believe he's the first Arab & African medallist in swimming. Cool!

  • Oussama Mellouli Champion, Go Tunisia!

  • no 800 for MEN in Olympics?

  • Worth noting that he tested positive at a random screening in November, not related to a competition. This race occured the following March, where he was tested following the race. He came out clear then.

  • in the sports, once a cheater always a cheater, he lost his credibility and there is no way to regain it.

  • Mellouli did not have a prescription for the drug, having received it from another USC student shortly before the US Open. He argued that he took the pill in order to help himself with writing a term paper (to sustain or enhance his academic performance), and that the drug is not a performance-enhancing substance in competitive swimming.

  • " On March 28, 2007, he became the first World Champion in the sport of swimming for Tunisia by winning the 800 meter freestyle in African Record time, one of the top 10 fastest times ever. However, he was soon discovered to have tested positive for the banned substance amphetamine"

He's a cheater, he lost his medals

  • go arabs!

salim Iles is a beast at sprinting...algeria all day

  • Congrats to Tunisia! Great race, too! I've just started swimming after a sprained ankle, so I'm wondering- what's decent time for a normal person to swim an 800? I'm in shape but definitely not a trained swimmer. What should I shoot for?

  • ehhh

probably at least 12 minutes for a normal person?

  • we're really proud of you oussema we wish all the best and god bless you

  • u go oussama ya ba6al

  • LONG LIVE TUNISIA!!! Good On Oussamma, I wish you swam in Sydney, I would've come to cheer you on!!!
