  • Skyrim anyone

  • @gokukevind You can be rest assured that many of the men portrayed in these images have taken arrows to the knees

  • @SteelWool91 You are almost right... Don't forget that the greek called the romans barbarians as well

  • The word "barbar" (or english: Barbarian) comes from old greek and simply means: People who not are greeks. It doesn't mean "Wild" or "beserk". The greeks called the romans barbarians but the romans weren't wild or beserk.

  • i think the term barbarian shouldn't be used anymore !! it was used by greeks and romanians to call people who hadn't a grade of modern civilization, or to refeer people who were not greeks or romans.... better to use the term germanic, or other terms similar, but not barbarian !

  • Where to find pictures like in this video ???

  • @1stNeoSpartan ;-) winners write history, dont they?

  • All groups referred to the other as barbarian. Even if they were civilized. But what barbarian cultures uniquely lacked was a written language and a sedentary economic system.

  • @Lordofthenipplerings In the way those cultures were looking at the world a written language and sedentary economic system wouldn't have been as necessary. Westerners underestimate the power of word of mouth to accurately pass down information, it was a skill they had mastered and honed their memories for to get down perfectly, quite remarkable. As far as a sedentary economy, most of the cultures were less materialistic, not as conditioned to associate tangible goods with success

  • @evolooshion Its the first step towards civilization. Oral tradition helps build mental strength, but it also produces hearsay. With each generation, its difficult to tell just how accurate the information is. Even with written records, we arent always sure when we doubt the sincerity of the author. Written words, print, scrolls, books, helps us pass down history, journals, news as it was originally intended by the writer. Maybe you prefer the opposite. Thats an aesthetic sort of thing.

  • @Lordofthenipplerings Under certain cultures, though, the requirement is that, for the historians, the stories had to be memorized word for word. Though it's difficult to prove this, some cultures seem to have kept it word for word. Though the interpretation can change as dialect does, but it's still possible from what I've learned. Though maybe I'm wrong. Just for the record, though, I don't think civilization is a must for a sophisticated culture, necessarily, only for certain kinds of it

  • @evolooshion Certainly as different perception. Conventionally though, most would think a culture has become civilized once it begins to record its own history in the form of written words.

  • Barbarian = people who are not roman citizens.

Greeks were barbarians too, but after they were part of the Roman empire, they becamed citizens of the Roman Empire

  • @BATTLEFIELD2112112 Well you could'nt really define a barbarian other than that they were different from the people caling them such.

  • @MrPureAggression Yes, yes it is

  • when i think about it i'd rather be a barbarian because in the end the "non barbarian societies" fell to the barbarian tribes egypt rome greece some examples

  • what is the song in the beginning?

  • @Janforth04 Battle of the mounds, Basil Poledouris

  • @SteelWool91 tnx

  • GERMANS!!! :)

  • Were they? The first Europeans to sail to America and as far away as Italy, Spain and Byzantium? Not only warring but trading and enriching European culture with their exploits?Brutal YES, idiots NO.

  • what happened to Mongols?

    you had everyone exept Mongols

  • There are some in there, but there are few... maybe i should do a mongol tribute next eh?

  • yes put many, there are many ties between the Mongols and rest of warriors.

but great work, keep posting videos of our ancient roots and pride

  • Indeed, ill inform you when its ready!

  • German knights at 1:10 are fighting Mongols.

  • Ja, nice eye, i didn't see it, and the one before is another Mongol against another tribe.

    Thanks

  • they weren't idiots! they used strategy, tactics, weapans, inventions, etc. just like every other ancient empires, but the barbarians preceeded them. and they also did manage to conquer all of the known lands, before and after empires came.

and even all the brilliant empires came or had relations with barbarians, for all barbarians were Ariyans, hence barbARIANS,

most likely starting from the Saka(Scythian) of Iran, and bringing other tribes and empires.

  • @yashil17 barbARIANS and Aryan has no connection at all dude. Its greek for any thing thats not Greek. Aryan comes from Rig Vedas which literally means "nobles" "high caste". This was used for Kings and priest, later used for whole groups of people.Any thing Indo-European about Barbarian is in Sanskirt is Barbara "curly haired"

  • Brutal idiots in comparison to who?

  • a proud North germanic Barabarian, the viking

  • Same here, mostly Swedish.

  • LEIF HERINKSON WAS A GREAT COMMANDER OF THE VIKINGS !! HEIL TO HIM.!! HE IS THE FIRST DISCOVERER OF THE AMERICAN CONTINENT , NOT COLUMBUS.!!! THE VIKINGS DISCOVERED AMERICAN AROUND THE YEAR 1000 WHILE COLUMBUS REACHED THERE IN 1492(12th of octomber at 2 in the moning)!! heil the vikings!!

  • The ancestors of the native americans first discovered america.

  • I think what he meant was that they were the first Europeans to reach America, before Columbus

  • @SteelWool91 Hey I wonder If you know about Hildetand ``War thooth``, If not its worth a read go to wiki, (you`ll like being a swede even more after). Gooden vid yeah thats a soundtrack eh, my stepdad like he often did would just rent a movie at night for me and my little brother, and one night he did that and said``look I got a movie(nodded) its a good one``. Who knew it was conan the barbarian on vhs after all these years it cant be beat. I found the varangians on the video. skepan

  • @Leviathan1859 you mean Leif Eriksson.

  • @Leviathan1859 Native Americans were the first people to discover America lol dude

  • @evolooshion Leif was the first european who descovered America , dude.

  • @Leviathan1859 True, but the Native Americans resided there before Leif Herinkson was born and were doin' pretty well

  • Crom !

  • Ive been waiting over a YEAR to hear sombody say that!!!

  • Barbarian by heart! I like most of what the roman and greece called for barbarians, but I like them in north europ the most, celts, germanic tribes, and other.

  • The picture at 1:43 are from a viking battle in Norway, i have bin looking for that picture, were did you find it?

  • i could send it to you via email but i just punched in "angus mcbride" on google to find it

  • ahh thanks=) that man is wery skilled!

  • no problem

  • First find out what barbarian means.

  • Africa is NOT the origin of man, whoever tells you that is either completely misinformed, or is a Nigro supremisist.

Nobody knows the complete origin of man, many people "religious" and otherwise, have many ideas, but none of them are provable.

  • yeah i thought i remember some guy who was exclaming aobut breaking information from india (guy is indian of course) claiming all life came from india lol. So i guess that the whole origin of man is just popular individual belife at this time at least

  • I think Romans used to call people and nations who resisted their hegemony as barbarians , but the term was mainly linked to the berber or Amazighe people of North Africa.

  • no i dont think barbarian was named after the berbers, it was used by the greeks to explain how foreigners (celts, germans, ect) sounded when they spoke wich to them sounded like babbel or bar bar

  • I heard that barberian mean people that didn t cut their beard... that was the difference the romans cut their beard and the other peoples didn t

  • could be, or mabey part of the many reasons why they were called barbarian

  • Yeah cool video.

  • Exactly what i meant, anyone who didint fall into roman or greek catagories was barbarian, so i think barbarian would be somthing to be proud of

  • anyone who wasnt roman or greek was probably considered "barbarian"

  • cool, thanks !!!

  • Måste hon vara :S Hon är ju sjuk i huvudet :P

    Men vad görs då?

  • ja..

  • hahaha yes i think so too :P

Men det är irriterande att det inte finns fler bilder på Germanerna :S Vi var ju förfan den starkaste folkstammen i Europa under Barbar tiden..

  • Were are the Germanic people?!?!

They were strongest and most brutal! Scandinavia,Germany are the homeland of Germanic peoples!

  • there are alot of them in there but they resemble alot of the kelts in arms and armor, if you look there are germanic cavalry, goth warriors, teutonic knights (because of the mongols) vikings, varangian gaurd and germanic auxillairies in there you just have to look

  • yes i saw it now ^^ Nice video!

  • thank you

  • many barbarians settled in Spain after the fall of the roman empire :)

  • yeah the visigoths did, but iberians where there hundreds of years before! ;)

  • hey dont forget the celts who came from the british isles ! lol

  • that is unless you belive what scientists say about everybody originating from africa.....

  • what?? lol what does africa being the origin point of humans have to do with celts moving in to Spain?

    its true

  • Srry i thought you meant that they evolved in britian, i got you the wrong context

  • ohh lol :)

  • Wonderful pictures and great sound 5 stars for you :-)

  • thank you
