I did the thing this video mentions without knowing about the achievement, I ALT+TAB'ed out of Portal and watched this video about how to get the achievement, then when the video was almost over Portal (HL2) generated an error and I got the achievement! Convenient! :D

it depends on how you enter the first portal if its taking you hours to get the long jump you prolly didnt enter the portal the right way remeber to "jump" or "fall" into the portal

you can do this achivement falling from eiffel tower's roof. another way to do it is jumping from my house's roof.. like my cat did :( it wanted to do the terminal velocity achivement but it forgot that the cats can't think with portals :( poor cats.
