It is not their "duty", but why don't they set an example for the rest of the country. Charities are independant organizations that are funded by the donations of individuals. The government is NOT a Charity. When this country was founded, EVERYONE pulled their own weight, and if their was an issue, then the community would come together and help out.

@rashadkijani Welfare is a program that was setup for temporary use in the case of an emergency in someone's life. It's not supposed to be an form of employment. There needs to be a lifetime cap on the use of the Welfare system. Like after 10 years, you are on your own. Knowing this 10 year mark exist will provide some incentive to get out in society and provide for yourself.

The then republican party opposed these programs and attracted southern democrats who then became conservatives( THEY WERE NEVER LIBERALS). @rashadkijani Welfare is a program that was setup for temporary use in the case of an emergency in someone's life. It's not supposed to be an form of employment. There needs to be a lifetime cap on the use of the Welfare system. Like after 10 years, you are on your own. Knowing this 10 year mark exist will provide some incentive to get out in society and provide for yourself.

It's like so many arguments of its kind. Who should be more mad at, people that provide the service or people that use it? Trading slaves was a learned behavior from the countries we came from. Many people died for slavery to end, why do we forget them?

And people only sell things that people will buy. Only if there is a demand . You dont have to buy something you dont want. And what do you mean slavery ended over old hatreds? Slavery is hatred do you think the slave owners treated slaves the way they did cuz they liked the slaves?

@rashadkijani Wow. You misunderstood every single thing I said. The English, French, German, and others, that came to the New World all came from cultures that traded slaves. Slavery was common in most countries and the whole of the world for thousands of years. And I mean that it is more important to remember that slavery was ended "instead" of bringing up old hatreds. Old hatreds...not important. Slavery ended...important. People complain about slavery like we still practice it.

@BlackFolioStudios Dude, if you have to explain something as simple as that to "rashadkijani" then he isn't worth the time it takes to debate with him. It's obvious that nothing will ever change his outlook so I say let him stew in his wrongness.
Note: I know that isn't the intellectual thing to do but sometimes a lost cause is just that: A lost cause. I do admire your attempt to educate him though,but, some people just won't listen. They'd rather close their eyes than except the truth.

Lieberman became a indepedent awhile ago. He was rumored to have been a possible VP pick for McCain not barack Obama.
