My baby muntjac is now 4 weeks old and isn't really touching the sweet goat feed we bought him. I've been bottle feeding him about 4x/day. You mentioned that you've bottle fed yours about 3 months now. Is that typical? I had thought that by 4 weeks or so they begin eating solids. I'd appreciate any ideas and clarification! Thanks-
Is he a reeves muntjac? If so, how are the females different from the males? How are they different from the leaf muntjac, and where can I get a leaf or reeves, and do the reeves jump like the leafs? Where can I get a leaf and/or reeves, preerably somewhere near MD?
Sorry to bombard you with questions, but I've looked all over the online community, and no one seems to be selling any in my area, and no one seems to be selling the leafs at all D:
I live in the Orlando, Florida area and I am extremely interested in purchasing a Muntjac Deer! Do you recommend any good breeders in the state and could you give me an estimate as to how much the little guy would cost? I am a twenty year old female and live within city limits but luckily have a large, fenced in backyard. Thank you!
@KulakxFilms wow u look at this amazing beatuiful animal and u think of dinner im no vegetarion ill tell u that but u r sick theres one thing i no will make me feel better about this is that after u die u will see fire hehehe
do you know if they are legal in georgia? I have been interested in having one for many years and we finally found a breeder near georgia, but I'm not sure my state would allow them.
@CarnalContessa I have 6 foot stockade fence around my property so i dont have to worry much about them getting out unless someone leaves the gates open. he did get out once but he came home in a few hours they have a very good homing sence
Your lovely Muntjac actually has quite a few scent glands: Frontal (forehead), Sub orbital (below the eyes), interdigital (between the hooves) and reproductive!
if you took it to the park it would be eaten in a matter of seconds???.. i worry enough about my dog let alone dangling a fresh piece of steak in a lion's mouth.. crazy to do so
@iboggit My boyfriend's family takes his (leashless) guinea pigs to the park all the time and I take my hairless rats. Neither of us have had a problem with them so far. I figure if guinea pigs and rats do fine running around at the park, a deer on a leash should be okay too. *shrugs* IDK It was just a question.
I don't know if the comments have to be approved, but my last one disappeared. Anyway, I was saying that you had an adorable little muntie and that I was planning on getting one myself when I get my own place. Also, I asked if it was possible to leash train a muntjac because I like pets that I can take to the park with me.
They are very small, as you can see, and their horns are nothing more than little stumps. Therefore, if they were to be cornered by a threat, they need some means of defense.
@themixtures Where do you think horses came from? And hippos, and elephants, and man? We all have ancient ancestors. You wouldn't have seen a hippo lumbering around with the dinosaurs, but you would have seen an ancestor species, or do you think all our roots came from rats? :P
i totally want one of them bro lol

where do you get one?
hiebs3 1 year ago
@hiebs3 You can only buy them from breeders. Some of them require you to go get them, but a few will ship them to you.
