  • i was thinking about getting the t3i but im just going to save up and get the 60d

  • what lens is that?

  • @nupac15 18-55 kit lens

  • nice hand motions

  • am not sure how long should I wait for this camera with autofocus and digital zoom

  • i'm just worried the camera will fly off .... = )

  • is he signing for ppl that cant hear?

  • @herishidesigns No, I think he just talks with his hands

  • I am going to strap your hand to your ass

  • Even a 5 star rating? Wowzies!

  • Dude, you're huge... that camera looks like a toy in your hands...

  • can someone tell what lens is on the canon 60d?

  • @mikeprdct22 The one he's got attached in the video looks to be the 18-55 IS.

I just bought one of these cameras, and the kit lens it came with was the 18-135 IS.

  • I bought Canon 60D..it was great and gives you crisp photos but I returned it and had it changed with Nikon 7000 because it can hold on to it's image quality with higher ISO where with canon 60D will create noise and fringe..

  • A very animated presenter. I love it

  • Bayot ning tigulanga ni! Flower2x kau ka yot hahaha so Gay like justin bieber.... Good review though hehe next time stop moving your hands so girly hehehe

  • @BryanMumble yati man bai! ahahah

  • i just dont know what to do with my hands.. . . .. .

  • I just got one of these... What are the best setting's for indoor water polo?

I have a sigma 2.8 zoom lens to use...

  • how do i change the frame rate to 24fps ?

  • Comment removed

  • @the1mightygod

Turn on your camera, make sure you are in movie mode, press the menu button, goto the 2nd tab called movie record size, press set, move the dial to choose 24fps, press set, then exit out of the menu, you are now recording at 24fps.

    OR

while in movie move press the info button until all the displays are showing, press the Q button, choose the frame rate, move the dial to change the frame rate and movie size.

  • I'm either getting the 60d or the new 600D.

  • buy me one please?

  • True as fuck....I'm going to cut off that fucking hand!! Great review though...

  • what was he speaking about - I got lost ??? -- all i could think about was his hand waving about

  • buy the 60D its so much better

  • Unfortunately it's now made of plastic and not mag alloy.

  • He is so enthusiasted

  • The 60D is a great camera if your having thoughts on video recording or taking shots at an unusual angle. The specifications are pretty similar with 60D in lead.. so if your willing to spend the extra cash for a swirly, flippy LCD, then I suggest you buy the 60D over the 550D

  • Should i buy the 60D or the 550D ?

  • I'll also add that, in the UK at least, the D7000 is only ~£50 cheaper than the 7D, so, going by prices, the D7000 is more comparable to the 7D than the 60D which is significantly cheaper.

    (in the UK anyway)

  • After about a month's research I got my first DSLR - Canon 60D - about three weeks ago. I must thank Chris for his succinct review of the product which helped, in part, to make my decision.

I must have visited this video several times after that just to amuse myself with Chris' gesticulations which seem to convey more !

    Happy Hols ! :)

  • Ugh. 60D is a complete failure. Nikon D7000 walks all over this.

  • @ParadigmPenguin NOT TRUE. I own 60D. Yes, ISO 6400 performance is better on D7000, but much better video mode and swivel screen on 60D make it a winner. I purchased with full confidence after long research, and now, after nearly 2 months of more comparison, I was right!!

  • @solar75wind glad to hear that. I (though briefly) did consider D7000 as my entry level DSLR but finally settled for 60D. A couple of reviews on here do suggest that D7000 is a better camera but since I have not been able to get my hands on D7000 I cannot comment.

I must put a word for D7000's end result though. It seems closer to real in terms of colour, focus etc. based on the sample images I have seen on the net. Any takes?

  • @solar75wind

Well, the most important thing is that you're happy with it. I purchased a D200 instead of a 40D (I think most would agree that the 40D is superior) but I don't regret it. Personally I see the swivel screen as a downside. I was expecting that the 60D would retain the XXD series' key features such as magnesium alloy body (vs. plastic) and fast burst rate.

  • @ParadigmPenguin

With the current crop of DSLR cameras,I think we can all agree that there isn't a huge difference in 'real life' image quality between them.

While the Canon 60D is plastic bodied, it doesn't have a cheap or tacky feel to it, like some of the lower end models do.

One thing I like about the swivel screen is you can turn it in so the screen itself is protected from scratches. But it all really comes down to what fits the individual:)

Also,D7000 is ~£300 more than the 60D in the UK

  • When you are in Japan you will have a hard time choosing among the three because all of them are reasonably priced. KissX4 = ¥64,000 ($765), 60D = ¥71,000 ($850), 7D = ¥107,000 ($1280)

    I ended up buying the 60D w/ a Tamron 18-270 VC lens. ¥71,000 ($850) + ¥46,750 ($559) but got a ¥7,000 promotional discount (buy a 60D w/ a Tamron lens campaign). Total price is ¥110,750 ($1,325).

A great deal I guess, you can never find a 60D anywhere that is priced as reasonably as this.

  • Get the 7D

  • @MrRatempa NO reason to get 7D, other than 8 fps batch performance. In all other respects 60D is nearly the same, but the swivel screen makes it a winner.

  • whats wrong with your hands?

  • Yuck, I'm glad I got in while the 40D was current... Built in editing suite, vari-angle LCD, rating system? The 40D was a great camera that is great for taking pictures, that's what it does and it does it well...

  • has the AGC problem been solved do we now have Manual L& R audio gains with meters?

  • 450D video you shoot with camcorders.

  • where is the TEST of the Movie....blablablablablabla.....

  • @Abdulaziz .... that is my dilemma as well.

  • yeah stop with the ricky bobby hands. good review though

  • Looks like a lot of frustration when he turns the screen for the first time.

  • Seriously.... your hands move wayyyyyy too much. Calm down!

  • YES! the happy hands are back in action!

  • I think I will take the 7D. This 60D is great, but I take the whole video seriously and that's why I will buy a rig for my 7D too and well a rig usualy contains an external LCD monitor.

  • so could i compare with 7d?

  • how much is it ?!?

  • you move your hands too much... its distracting

  • Comment removed

  • please put closed caption. I am deaf

  • Good review, but STOP moving your hands so much :-)

  • do you think I should buy this as my first dslr? I would really appreaciate if you answer me. :)

  • @ithinkiminlove123 I would go for the 7D. It is a much better camera. It just doesn't have the vari-angle screen. The 7D is one of the best cameras out today from Canon. It would be hard for Canon to top it.

  • @haji727 so your saying that 7d would be much better for me as my first dslr? Isnt 7d for pros?

  • @ithinkiminlove123 It is between entry level and pro level. Believe me there are a lot of resources out there to assist you to grow into it. It is an awesome camera and if you are going to spend the money then spend it on something you will be totally satisfied with. The two down sides I have with it is the lack of a vari-angle screen and the audio. But that is not an issue if you use a Rode external mic on it.

  • @haji727 thank you so much for the help. :]

  • @ithinkiminlove123 You are welcome!

  • @haji727 The only thing that the 7D has to top the 60D is 8 Pictures a second, 16 instead of 9 point AF and a magnesium body.

  • @RobbertGroenendijk Do you have a 7D? If you did you would know it has many more features under the hood than the 60D. Those you mentioned alone makes it a better camera. FYI, it was my opinion only. Prove me wrong.

  • 60d body is also plastic

  • @psykohed Aren't all of them plastic?

  • what much better 60d or 7d for image capturing

please help. i can't decide what should i buy thanks

  • this thing looks great but pricey

  • if that left hand has a paintbrush, mona lisa will emerge

  • I like his hand movements =)

  • Guys what should I buy the 60D or the 550D?

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie

You're pretty much asking the obvious.

"Should i get a Mercedes E class or a Mercedes SLK"

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie 60D. because 550D has plastic body like toy. by the way, image quality and video quality are same. and 60D's durability is high and good for movie shooting . .

  • Comment removed

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie You'll save about $300 if you purchase the T2i. What will you miss, not photo quality, not high ISO, not high megapixels, not variable frame rates, not bells and whistles; you'll miss an articulating screen and on camera processing; but who does this using a 3" screen. You wouldn't.

  • @steeldustbronze Thanks for your reply. I take a lot of pictures/video of sports. Swimming, Jetski, soccer, cars...etc. Do you think the T2i would do good?

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie I honestly wouldn't buy either. I don't see the point in the 60D. New double digit canons just don't have the advantages over their predecessors anymore to warrant buying them. Some of the additional features are a bit trivial and unecessary, case in point 2:28 to 3:05 of the video. Why not buy a used 30D for €300 and save your €800! which you can better spend on a very very nice lens...Also is it true that its a plastic body? If so, then shame on Canon. P.S Good review

  • @abc123tuberoo Thanks for you're reply, but I need a camera that really takes good video footage. Any other suggestion. Would like the camera to be between 400-1000$

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie just get the 7d if u're planning to get 7d

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie Good question.

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie 60D if you don't are about cost :D

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie If you find out could you tell me? I have the same dilemma.

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie The two are quite similar in specs, but what convinced me to get the 60D was its physical build. If you have large hands like mine, the 60D will feel much more comfortable in your hands when you're shooting, instead of the rather small 550D, which feels like just another zoomy digital compact. The swivel LCD will help you with different filming angles, whilst the small LCD info screen on the top right of the camera body is a godsend.

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie If you want to shoot video get the 60D - I've had a 550D since March 2010 and shot tens of hours of video on it. The 550D is a great lightweight and compact SLR but even if though the sensor and other features are pretty much the same the articulating screen on the 60D and slightly bigger bulk make it a completely different animal to film on and should not underestimated.

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie

you should buy the 60d, she has basically the same internal components 550 so that her body is better quality

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie 60D. It's a lot better than the 550D. The swivel screen makes it even more tempting to buy than the 7D for video

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie i would go with the 60D for video

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie yknow you're happy when you buy this 60D! because you can gt better angles withe swivly screen!! :D :D im getting it!

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie the 550D is for beginners but i still recommend 60D

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie canon 550d i like it more

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie The swiveling screen rocks, so if you can spend extra 250 bucks, go for 60D.

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie 60D its awesome!!

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie 60D, slightly different construction and plastic instead of magnesium allow. But the 60D actually feels more sturdy and has better ergonomics

  • @AbdulazizAlSubaie buy the 60d, because next year there will be t4i, then t5i two months after and the t2i will be outdated

  • his hands are having a siezure

  • ok billys mays ill buy it!

  • Please stop moving your hand! Good review though - thanks :)

  • @roborovskihamsters yeah the movement in his left had looks very awkward and unnatural

  • @roborovskihamsters Thats why its called "HANDS"-on review. hahha. just kidding. very good review though.. =)

  • @roborovskihamsters ROFL xD

  • @roborovskihamsters my god i thought those exact words before i even saw your comment. hes like jerkin the camera around i can imagine him accidentally throwing it hahha
