I bought Canon 60D..it was great and gives you crisp photos but I returned it and had it changed with Nikon 7000 because it can hold on to it's image quality with higher ISO where with canon 60D will create noise and fringe..
Bayot ning tigulanga ni! Flower2x kau ka yot hahaha so Gay like justin bieber.... Good review though hehe next time stop moving your hands so girly hehehe
Turn on your camera, make sure you are in movie mode, press the menu button, goto the 2nd tab called movie record size, press set, move the dial to choose 24fps, press set, then exit out of the menu, you are now recording at 24fps.
OR
while in movie move press the info button until all the displays are showing, press the Q button, choose the frame rate, move the dial to change the frame rate and movie size.
The 60D is a great camera if your having thoughts on video recording or taking shots at an unusual angle. The specifications are pretty similar with 60D in lead.. so if your willing to spend the extra cash for a swirly, flippy LCD, then I suggest you buy the 60D over the 550D
I'll also add that, in the UK at least, the D7000 is only ~£50 cheaper than the 7D, so, going by prices, the D7000 is more comparable to the 7D than the 60D which is significantly cheaper.
After about a month's research I got my first DSLR - Canon 60D - about three weeks ago. I must thank Chris for his succinct review of the product which helped, in part, to make my decision.
I must have visited this video several times after that just to amuse myself with Chris' gesticulations which seem to convey more !
@ParadigmPenguin NOT TRUE. I own 60D. Yes, ISO 6400 performance is better on D7000, but much better video mode and swivel screen on 60D make it a winner. I purchased with full confidence after long research, and now, after nearly 2 months of more comparison, I was right!!
@solar75wind glad to hear that. I (though briefly) did consider D7000 as my entry level DSLR but finally settled for 60D. A couple of reviews on here do suggest that D7000 is a better camera but since I have not been able to get my hands on D7000 I cannot comment.
I must put a word for D7000's end result though. It seems closer to real in terms of colour, focus etc. based on the sample images I have seen on the net. Any takes?
Well, the most important thing is that you're happy with it. I purchased a D200 instead of a 40D (I think most would agree that the 40D is superior) but I don't regret it. Personally I see the swivel screen as a downside. I was expecting that the 60D would retain the XXD series' key features such as magnesium alloy body (vs. plastic) and fast burst rate.
With the current crop of DSLR cameras,I think we can all agree that there isn't a huge difference in 'real life' image quality between them.
While the Canon 60D is plastic bodied, it doesn't have a cheap or tacky feel to it, like some of the lower end models do.
One thing I like about the swivel screen is you can turn it in so the screen itself is protected from scratches. But it all really comes down to what fits the individual:)
When you are in Japan you will have a hard time choosing among the three because all of them are reasonably priced. KissX4 = ¥64,000 ($765), 60D = ¥71,000 ($850), 7D = ¥107,000 ($1280)
I ended up buying the 60D w/ a Tamron 18-270 VC lens. ¥71,000 ($850) + ¥46,750 ($559) but got a ¥7,000 promotional discount (buy a 60D w/ a Tamron lens campaign). Total price is ¥110,750 ($1,325).
A great deal I guess, you can never find a 60D anywhere that is priced as reasonably as this.
@MrRatempa NO reason to get 7D, other than 8 fps batch performance. In all other respects 60D is nearly the same, but the swivel screen makes it a winner.
Yuck, I'm glad I got in while the 40D was current... Built in editing suite, vari-angle LCD, rating system? The 40D was a great camera that is great for taking pictures, that's what it does and it does it well...
I think I will take the 7D. This 60D is great, but I take the whole video seriously and that's why I will buy a rig for my 7D too and well a rig usualy contains an external LCD monitor.
@ithinkiminlove123 I would go for the 7D. It is a much better camera. It just doesn't have the vari-angle screen. The 7D is one of the best cameras out today from Canon. It would be hard for Canon to top it.
@ithinkiminlove123 It is between entry level and pro level. Believe me there are a lot of resources out there to assist you to grow into it. It is an awesome camera and if you are going to spend the money then spend it on something you will be totally satisfied with. The two down sides I have with it is the lack of a vari-angle screen and the audio. But that is not an issue if you use a Rode external mic on it.
@RobbertGroenendijk Do you have a 7D? If you did you would know it has many more features under the hood than the 60D. Those you mentioned alone makes it a better camera. FYI, it was my opinion only. Prove me wrong.
@AbdulazizAlSubaie 60D. because 550D has plastic body like toy. by the way, image quality and video quality are same. and 60D's durability is high and good for movie shooting . .
@AbdulazizAlSubaie You'll save about $300 if you purchase the T2i. What will you miss, not photo quality, not high ISO, not high megapixels, not variable frame rates, not bells and whistles; you'll miss an articulating screen and on camera processing; but who does this using a 3" screen. You wouldn't.
@steeldustbronze Thanks for your reply. I take a lot of pictures/video of sports. Swimming, Jetski, soccer, cars...etc. Do you think the T2i would do good?
@AbdulazizAlSubaie I honestly wouldn't buy either. I don't see the point in the 60D. New double digit canons just don't have the advantages over their predecessors anymore to warrant buying them. Some of the additional features are a bit trivial and unecessary, case in point 2:28 to 3:05 of the video. Why not buy a used 30D for €300 and save your €800! which you can better spend on a very very nice lens...Also is it true that its a plastic body? If so, then shame on Canon. P.S Good review
@abc123tuberoo Thanks for you're reply, but I need a camera that really takes good video footage. Any other suggestion. Would like the camera to be between 400-1000$
@AbdulazizAlSubaie The two are quite similar in specs, but what convinced me to get the 60D was its physical build. If you have large hands like mine, the 60D will feel much more comfortable in your hands when you're shooting, instead of the rather small 550D, which feels like just another zoomy digital compact. The swivel LCD will help you with different filming angles, whilst the small LCD info screen on the top right of the camera body is a godsend.
@AbdulazizAlSubaie If you want to shoot video get the 60D - I've had a 550D since March 2010 and shot tens of hours of video on it.
