  • my band is doing this song, and it is killing it.

is there one with flutes, clairenets, oboe, alto sax, bass clairenet, and precussion in it? my gawd that was a long list. i think i missed one. oh yea. tuba.

  • Very beautifully done! Thank you for posting your video as a response to ours. From its beginning, this song has inspired musicians to create their own arrangements giving it new life over time, a feature that was interestingly enough first noted by its "discoverer" Rabbie Burns, who first notated the "original" as he heard it in the 1700's. The many interpretations started back before that, in this tune's "prehistory," and truly the tune as we know it from Guy Lombardo is just one of the many.

  • very heart warming =)

  • Personally, I can't stand all the pretentious "reinterpretations" of this lovely gem that needs no re-interpretation.

So any version that does not try to "improve" on the old classic, or "freshen" it, but just interpret it as honestly as possible, is most welcome! ;)

  • I second that. There are classics that should not be transformed. If you want to play differently - write your own song!! Other wise pay homage where it's due and play faithfully.

  • thanks for shareing.

  • Nice. I like this piano transcription very much. Gentle and contemplative. Playing is a bit stilted though. But well done.

  • Thx! It't my own transcription, just played it by an leadsheed [melody + harmony]
