The translation is not even right. Nobody says things like. We'd say in french : "Parce que j'ai du game, bitches!" Its better like that. Otherwise it sounds lame.
@PurK1Fry Despite your sentance sounds a lil' better, it's still not something a french would say and it sounds as "lame" as the original (except if you're canadian)... "Parce que j'ai la classe" would sounds more natural and even if it does not mean the exact same thing, it would fit a lotta better. A translation ALWAYS needs some adaptation for make it looks / sounds more natural.
@soyel94 Do you speak french? Well in french we say "parce que j'ai DE la classe".
In french we use a lot of english idiomatic expressions. Thats what young people could say to their friend only if you know the meaning of these words otherwise I'd not translate like that.
@PurK1Fry Of course I do speak french ... I am. That's true that we do use often english expressions but we do not use them randomly unless you want to look / sound like a jerk. "j'ai de la classe / j'ai la classe / je suis trop classe" is totally correct, your version is a bit more formal. The aim of a translation is to keep the meaning but like I said earlier you can not do that by just translating words by words nor by keeping original words.
@PurK1Fry We try to keep the whole idea of the sentance while changing the content to fit more to the targeted language. That's the way to translate things sadly. Like i use to say: traduction = trahison.
@astoc Okay, you win! I mean, I live in France, but my French isn't that good. I thought it could make sense if you translate it word by word and when the translater said the right stuff, I thought it must work. Obviously I was wrong. Sorry. :)
The comments consist of: 45% failing to quote Barney, 35% kiddies with terrible orthography, 10% other kiddies using quotes mixed with feck-ugly smilies, 9% "thumbs up if.." and 1% - serious, productive comments, giving me a good feeling.
I do thank god everyday for the 1%, better than nothing.
NOTE: If you are a woman that have read it, first let us apologize: it was never our intention for that book to contain so much math. We urge you to look at this document for what it is a piece of fiction meant to entertain an audience through the prism of stereotypical gender differences. Sometimes it really is like we're from different planets! No real person would actually believe or adhere to the rules contained within. Those boots are adorable, *wink*
It's funny because you could say bitch in any french speaking country and they'd understand. And the way he said it in french just isn't right. AWESOME!!!!
let's say Barney just went on google translation to translate this english idiom and he just doesn't speak french at all, but hey it's Barney, the best liar ever, and anyways no one at the table understands french so ...whatever, it's not about grammar here :) GO BARNEY !!
If I walked around saying "He made a rabbit of me!" it wouldn't mean anything. We'd say "Oh, what a horrible translation," and yet, that would be precisely what is meant.
Sure he could have said "I have *some* game," but he doesn't. He has *all* the game. And how do we signify a universal concept? "Le," not the partitive.
Who cares if the translation was perfect or not ?? French people are always trying to correct someone or to force you how to pronounce their words correctly when THEY can't even pronounce english words correctly!!When they talk it's like if they were about to vomit or something , Neil Patrick did his best , you don't have to fight over this.Eh oui les français! toujours là à corriger les autres quand vous même,n'arrivez même pas à parler l'anglais ou une langue autre que la vôtre correctement!

@Revolvee Le Français était jusqu'à la Première Guerre Mondiale la langue internationale et dans quelque année, il y aura plus de francophone notamment grâce à l' Afrique et au Québec que d'Anglophone donc va te faire.
The French until the First World War was the official language and in some years there will be more people who speak French thanks to the Africans, who speaks only English. So shut up
Ps:Le Français est une langue magnifique que tu ne pourras jamais comprendre vu ton ignorance
@ZteBlade83 In your untranslated part, are you trying to say that there WILL be more Francophones than Anglophones in Quebec in the future? That's always been the case and no one would suggest otherwise, at least there doesn't seem to be any threat of there being more Anglophones in our lifetimes.
@morteza286 Actually after "why?"(=Pourquoi) you must use "par ce que" and not "comme". Because you answer to a question, only in that case you have to use "Par ce que". You are not totally wrong.
@morteza286 Lol c'est pas comme si j'étais Français, tu ne vas pas m'apprendre à parler ma langue quand même ? Si je te dis que tu peux commencer ta phrase par "parce que" c'est que c'est vrai gros malin !
@morteza286 I have to tell you that u had a bad French teacher, because actually i'm french and i tell u that u can start a sentence with "parce que" in French ... ;)
Amicalement.
@mrlegion21 The fuck?
Way to kill the joy, si tu veux... '-.-

Ceci sera LÉGEN...attendez...DAIRE! (translation: this will be LEGEN...wait for it...DARY!)
And BTW the proper way to say it would be "parce que je possède du jeu, chiennes!"
theamberofthedark 6 months ago
@morteza286 Actually after "why?"(=Pourquoi) you must use "par ce que" and not "comme". Because you answer to a question, only in that case you have to use "Par ce que". You are not totally wrong.

@morteza286 I have to tell you that u had a bad French teacher, because actually i'm french and i tell u that u can start a sentence with "parce que" in French ... ;)
alexisbibico 6 months ago

Amicalement.

@mrlegion21 The fuck?

Way to kill the joy, si tu veux... '-.-
