I think the Sergeant should've played the Major General. He has the exact same physical/vocal attributes as him. The Sergeant is the comical highlight in the show, the afrc (absolutely fucking ridiculous character) and can get away with anything and cannot be called over acting, They're not using what can have!
I'm not sure about that Frederick... he's meant to be incredibly handsome, a 'thing of beauty' ... and just turned 21! Wheras this chap looks more like the Go Compare tenor... Using the box to acknowledge his shortness was funny though! The music could've been a touch louder (or the chorus mics turned down a little), but aside that, very good! :)
The music was far to quiet. and the movement very light. were you trying not to wake someone who was sleping? The chorus member who yelled when Mabel said "Death" was highly distracting. This number is supposed to be loud and fun. the whole idea is that they are the worse policemen in the world because they are loud. The music needed to be much, much louder.
What an absolute delight, smiled all the way through this! My husband is off whistling this, took him back to his Gilbert & Sullivan days in College! Most enjoyable, thank you!
not a bad job for the shape they are in i place blame on the director. the parts of the police are meant to be played nimble young men, and even for a well trained musical artist, this can be a difficult part...some coriographs of this bit are quite complicated/hard
I agree. Im doing this play and Im a police and the whole concept is to be silly and out of order. Defintly needs more energy. But this part is my favorite out of they play :]
Well the sergeant was to be an older-portraying bass singer by Gilbert & Sullivan. I would know that because I am playing the Sergeant for this musical at my college. Nothing to take away from Tony Azito, he does an amazing job portarying the sergeant, he was very exciting to watch.

For an amateur production, I think it's pretty good.
It's also nice to see a more traditional looking Police Sergeant.

I think some of the criticism is a bit harsh! They are amateurs and the Gent's chorus isn't exactly in the first flush of youth.
I'd pay money to watch them :)
