I've been able to do use bluetooth on my touch screen phone for the past 6 years (and I'm not the first...) check out my first touchscreen phone: sony ericsson p800. LOL

Problem: make sure it's activated to "ask first" when receiving messages and preferably not always set to "discoverable" mode.

Some people can send lots of junk.
