I've got coin ship few times but I've always pondered what the hell are the requirements for it. At one time I thought you had to get 3 stars and beat stage 4 at level 1.

If there is more than one hammer brother on the map (e.g. World 3 has 2), can you get multiple coin ships? I met the criteria and only one hammer brother transformed. If I meet the criteria again and again, can I get multiple coin ships in the same world?

@leetdahl na you cant get more than one coin ship on each world that you can get it, so try all you want but you can only get one, even if there are multiple hammer bros.

I believe you cannot get the coin ship in Worlds 2, 4, or 7. I've been playing through on an emulator, and I know, at least, that you cannot get the ship in world 2. It may be because the map has boomerang brothers (and the Fire Brothers), but no hammer brothers.

I unlocked this several times, and never knew exactly what did it....... I think some people aren't being genuine when they say they discovered it by themselves.. I do wish game developers would bring back the 'secrets' business. I was like 5-7 when I played this regularly though, so maybe I would figured it out if I were older. I did figure out the super mario bros. last timer digit for stars, but that happens way more often on chance than the coin ship.

the number of coins you have has to be the multiple of 11 that matches the third digit in your score and you hafta beat the level with the timer on an even number

SIMPLE for example Coins: 33 > Score 5425378 > Timer 104

or coins=44, score= 12395, time=101

Only can be done in Worlds 13, 5, & 6. Also, can be done on odd number digit on timer. However, doing this adds 5 to your tens' digit, so to do that, you must ensure that the tens digit is 5 less than what your multiple is, when you hit the roulette block at the end of the level.

u also get a coin ship if u get 170,000 points in a world or somthing i did it along time ago but its possible its also possible to hack the rom to where it shows up like every 1000 points if u want i did that a while ago its a cool secret not everybody knows

actually you list too many criteria...

you only need a multiple of 11 coins, the tens digit of your score to match that multiple of 11, and you have to end on an even number...the hundreds digit of your score doesn't matter
