  • I don't like the process of every painting I've done either, but I capture an image in my head and wonder if my imagination can be or is synchronized with my ability. Then I surprise myself in the end and that's very rewarding.

  • Hey I'm the artist doing the (digital painting) CONTEST for DEVINANDERICA,. I hope you join the contest,. If you get a free moment come on by and sub! Would love to have you as a friend too!

  • so what do you do for a living now?

  • Caren has saved me a fortune in therapy bills.

    You have another subscriber.

  • I agree! i'm watchin what she does as well and i think she's amazing! As a musician, painter and sculptor, art is the only channel for me to express myself and understand myself. To me art is mystical and is the only way to help me understand myself. I do not do art for others. As a matter of fact, very few people seen it and i intend to keep it that way. I understand and share your opinion though. But to me art is art and i dont discredit any form of art even if it's as abstract as it can be.

  • cool, I just started watching eagle crow and enjoyed your artistic response :) yeah dumb criticism tends to come from other people and from within, both counts need just be ignored ;-)

    :)

  • Yes, she is one of the best on Youtube!

  • hi i am coming back to you i know ya had a baby recently i have been watching you tube abd i too am a tube a holic , a paint a holic a diet coke a holic a love a holic i am passionate about every blessing life brings me , the artists here are in spiring me you and suzi and a few others ,i hope you keep making more videos you are very creative with yours i like what you have to say and how yoy paint it too love ya gina

  • I really love this vlog. I've been confronting my own processes and limitations and inner critics lately so I can really empathize with you and I love Eagle! She is the bombdiggity! I am glad you did a video response for her.

  • It is so funny. I was sitting out on my back porch tonight thinking some of these same things. Yet, I have such a different interpretation. I am much older. I have learned to do and make what I want. If others like what I do, great. If they don't, I STILL like what I do. Good luck searching for your answers!

    :-)

  • This is really great. There is a pressure to make art commercial espescially when you have a passion for it, and that's all you want to do, but where do you draw the line? I relate, (except I like the process...) :o) But, I have other artists in my family too and I think that's why it took me awhile to go in that direction. :o)

  • Exactly, where do you draw the line? If I had enough disipline maybe I could make a living from it but then you're always creating for someone else. Strangers, in fact.

  • u really do inspire me.

  • Thanks man!

  • Great video.......i enjoyed hearing about your unique process and views!

  • nice vlog... check the one i responded with...

    PIMP my SOUL*

    keep it up!

  • thanks! I can't seem to get access in order to approve it- keeps saying it's not available. You gotta love Youtube. I'll check later.

  • Commercialism or, better, marketable art, can also mean the art is so good that people want to buy it. It's not always a negative thing. But everyone who makes art and displays it in their home is a much interesting person than the one who buys a framed print and thinks this is art. Good for you, keep creating for your soul, whatever the opinion voiced by "critics".

  • Thanks for the insightful comment and for the encouragment! You're right, making art to sell is not a negative thing at all. It's just ... where do you draw the line between making it specifically for others compared to just making it for yourself and hoping others like it, too?

  • I like this one vid too a friend of mine says if you want to make money you have to paint what people want I guess I will never make any money. keep the vlogs comming

  • Yeah me neither- but I guess if we really wanted to, we could make money- paint wildlife and landscapes and such- but it's not from the heart.

  • Hello Daligoddess told me about you in her video to The Artist Salon, We'd love to have you join!

  • Thanks- I just checked it out.

  • nice to see that pretty face, now i know why jack is so adorable

  • Just another reason why I voted for you instead of Zipster in the hottest hottie contest.

  • Look at my video it features Whitewolfgrr

  • You have some good points which I agree with you. We all have Creative minds. That my greatest fear what people thinking about it.

  • Yup -it's hard to get past that fear and just do what you truly love.

  • This was just so cool and trippy. It just made my fav vlog of the month. Nice Elphyra/

  • Well, your secret account had me thinking for quite awhile. How many other people have a secret account around here? I actually admit, I have one, too. I usually use it to tell young girls to stop doing strip dances b/c it's degrading and I don't want them hating on my real account. Maybe Youtube is not as big as it seems.

  • Ha, your probably right. It is nice to have an account nobody knows about but it can get out of control. I have about 6 accounts now including my guru account. They are not all that active. I even have a crazy drunken musician account that is lost in the seas of youtube. Never to be found. :) What a nerd.

  • finally got around to watching your now famous response to eaglecrowowl.very brave and entertaining.with so much turmoil in our world i feel a swell of meaninful introspection amongst artists.cant watch the news anymore.its a very important time for creatve minds.

  • I know what you mean. Creative minds are the world's only hope. We have to start thinking laterally.

I wish Youtube would respect artists a bit more and give us our own section. There used to be and Arts and Animation category and now there isn't anymore.

  • I think you are right about eaglecrowowl. Her art is amazing to me, and her blog style is unmatched on the tube. Unique and fun to watch, as are you. So glad to see this! Subbed, 5 starred, v-logged! Yeah.

  • Thanks! I agree- she is so good. I love how she expresses her ideas.

  • Heya, i love eaglecrowowls stuff too - but your vlog made me think. It sounds to me like you paint, just because you were brought up around artists, and it was almost encouraged? If you dont' enjoy the process... then why are you doing it?

  • Ahh good point. Well that's probably why I don't paint that much but you know I do do other creative things like sewing, photography and making random decorative things. Plus the curiousity of the end product drives me insane. I need to know what it will look like.

    thanks for the comment!

  • Great job with the video! You are a very special person. I feel your warmth, kindness, and compassion with all your videos. I enjoyed listening to you express yourself concerning art as well.

  • Thanks Mr. R. for the nice comment! I enjoy watching your family as well. I think all people that take time to create for their families are special.

  • This totally made me cry. I am not sure I can even put words to the emotions this video generated in me. I am deeply touched. I love the video and I thought it was beautifully crafted, honest and elegant. I am delighted and amazed.

  • wow! very impressive! i LOVE the painting. it is exactly the style that my wife and i would love to have over our fireplace. very well done. as for the video, you can tell that you have been absorbing Caren's vlogs. but you still brought your own style into the vid as well. i hope you do more of these along with the Jack vids! YouTube needs your positive artistic influence! 5 F & F *hug*

  • Thanks for the comment Dale- I miss you here on Youtube but i read your blog so you know, family comes first! But I'm glad you still pop in to watch us. Take care!

  • I love EagleCrowOwl and I love you too! You both rock!

  • Thanks a lot DG- you rock, too. I love Youtube and how it can expose you to other creative people.

  • there was supposed to be a top part of that comment that must not have come through. I had to break it up with the 500 word limit. Let me go find it.

  • I really appreciate your honesty. I also really really really like the painting you made. Thank you so much.

  • Thanks! I appreicate your work, too.
