  • These bikes are like a reliable tractor. You can beat the shit out of em and they'll keep on keepin' on. The way the 200 is set up as far as gearing, weight and geometry are concerned, you can point em up anything no matter how steep and they'll crawl right up it. fun bikes. nice vid

  • Cool that was the best part

  • @Celicastcali It's just stock exhaust... Ibelieve the baffles taken out though. Thanks for watching!

  • really nice bike

  • @justingoldsworthy Hey thanks for watching man!

  • Holy shit let go of the damn kick wtart when it atarts.. God damn

  • how tall are you?

  • @RoaringMuffin I'm about 6''4

  • i am 14 and i am 167

  • @lilretart You'll love it man.. great bikes! Thanks for watching!

  • i have a 2001 Honda Xr200r and i got a web camshaft for mine today so my dad and i can start putting her back together and when it's done my brother wants to ride it but i said why do you care about 4 strokes if you like and are obsessed with 2 strokes and he has a 2002 Ktm Exc 200 and that is a really scary fast bike, i rode it at Browns Camp in Tillamook Oregon and i didn't expect it to be that powerful or responsive but it is and i barley touched the throttle and it was scary.

  • @lilretart how tall r u and how much do u weigh? im 14 with a xr 400 but im 6' 170

  • i am 13 turning 14 in 2 weeks and i am getting a honda xr200r for my b-day

  • @lilretart Cool counds good... you'll enjoy it! Good bikes! Thanks for watching!

  • gotta love the old xr series :) my dad and I have an xr600 and an xr250 (got a 280 bore up kit) love em man!!!

  • @FyreFox94 Sweet yeah I had a Xr600 once... what a pig! lol The Xr200's still alot of fun!

    Thanks for watching!

  • I just got a 1998 Honda xr200r,I love it! It's a little older but who cares! And you should put a video up on how to adjust the valves, mine are radiling an I have no IDea how to adjust them! And I subscribed man! I love your videos!

  • @NnGcorp Hey thanks man... yeah they're good bikes! Thanks for Subscribing! I actually made a video on adjusting them and dont think Iever uploaded it... I'll try to see if I still have it. Thanks for watching man!

  • nice bike man i have a 2000 cr 80r but im jw why did you hold the kickstarter down so long thats not good on em

  • @acdc2197 Yeah I just wasn't thinking... it is hard on them. Thanks for watching!

  • @jfrost77hd haha yea it happens and no problem i m not a 4 stroke fan but this is nice

  • @acdc2197 The compression release actuates the exhaust valve to a partially open position allowing the air drawn into the cylinder by the intake stroke to escape.

  • there should be a cable that hooks to the kick starter and goes up to the decompression lever. so when your getting the piston in top dead center it moves the lever for you.

  • @mrXR200R Yeah I realized that shortly after the video... I was use to the manual ones with a lever but see how this all works now. Thanks for adding this though!

  • give her some pumpage... haha i might use that one now

  • @n3spitzkopf Yeah gotta give it some pumpage! ;) Thanks for watching man!

  • Hey thanks man I'm looking forward to riding it again great trail bike also I think my baffle is out too that's why I was wondering alright man thanks

  • Hey thanks man I'm looking forward to riding it again great trail bike also I think my baffle is out too that's why I was wondering alright man thanks

  • Hey I have a 2001 xr200r I got it used a year ago and the second day I had it the timing chain slip and the valve hit the piston ever since then I've basically been rebuilding the whole motor and now all I need is a new intake valve and new rings and I'll have it running again but I'm just wondering if you took the baffle out on your bike cause I can't tell I was thinking about doing it on mine thanks

  • @ilgw98 Man that sucks... yeah I've got a few things here and there and just end up as nightmares of stuff wrong. I believe the baffle is out of my bike, I've never done anything to it but dont think it was in when I got it. I like it I think it sounds good, not sure about a power difference though since I never pulled it. Looking foward to seeing it, hope you get it all figured out!

  • your pretty big for that thing... and u ride a xr650 also ?? that 200 sounds like a beast though, u should look at getting a cr250, would rape a 450 or 650.

  • @fmxfreak177 I had a Xr600 aswell but isold it awhile back. I still have this Xr200... it's a great bike with good power and handles great! I could use something alittle bigger but still really like riding it. I would like to get me a Cr250... you pretty happy with yours?

  • @jfrost77hd i love mine, it fast, flys past my friends xr500 with ease.

  • @fmxfreak177 Yeah I'm going to keep my eye out for one, you like it on the trails too?

  • @jfrost77hd it fun for logging roads, you really gotta be in control and ride the powerband, for the tighter slower trails. cuase if ur in the higher gears, riding slowly u'll end up fouling the plugs

  • @fmxfreak177 Alright... I've just looked around at a few, is there better years than others or ones to stay away from?

  • @jfrost77hd yea, saty away from 03 and up. thats when they changed the engine alot and got the electronic jets. they're really not that good, the 95 and 96 engines are the best 250 2t engines ever made. from 97 to 02 they're also really strong. im gunna out my 95 engine into a 01 frame, it bolts right in and its just will look nicer.

  • @fmxfreak177 Hey thanks good to know... Yeah I'd like to avoid all electric fuel injected stuff, I like to keep it pretty simple! Thanks for your input... I'll see what I can find!

  • Nice chek out my helmet cam video!

  • @jojomoor Hey thanks man... looks good!

  • how much did you get it for

  • @niggar505 Got it for $500 not running and had to put a clutch, shift plate, gear selector and more! Got wayyy more in it than it's worth!

  • i love my 2001 xr200r ! had alot of problems tho new high compression wissco pistion and wissco connecting rod because stock one snapped. very peppy loves to pop up and very quick and comfyyy!! love the videoo .

  • @skatejames Yeah I had mine out in the snow earlier.... fun bikes great power and pretty light for good handling!

  • @jfrost77hd i had mine out for the first time in the snow the other day and wow it was freakin funn as heck :P it still wanted to wheelie in a foot of snow :P

  • @skatejames Yeah it's alot of fun.... I love goosing the gas and hangin some turns and rippin some donuts!

  • the other half still screwed in, i do not know what the screw is holding in place since the magneto is still tight, i changed oil and cleaned the filter at the bottom and it rides fine, so half the screw is still holding something, any idea what it could be?? looks like it connects to the crank or something? thanks, Alex

  • hi again, got a problem again and im guessing it is because it is so old, on the stator side where the magneto is, there is this one big screw in cap and one smaller one over it. i was riding along and suddenly this horrible sound came as if shifting bad, i drove home and checked it out, i noticed the big cap was screwed out a bit and opened it to find half of a srew, with a washer and a lot of metal strand around, i took of the side cover and looked that inside of the hole in the magneto was...

  • hi , i got a 2002 xr200r and the bike has a hard time shifting into first.I took it apart and

the transmission gears are fine i think it is the external shaft thats not working probaly let me know what you think. Thanks

  • @TheRedneckChris ... I had the same problem with mine, if you pull the side cover and clutch there is a star like selector and arm coming off the shift shaft, I replaced that arm and star selector on mine and it works fine now. I've also heard that these newer ones are made with cheaper metal so if you can find one from an older bike or new old stock might be your best bet. Hope this helps you out!

  • @jfrost77hd yeah thanks for the help

  • @jfrost77hd is the arm called the (plate gearshift) on the shiftshaft ?

  • @TheRedneckChris Yeah thats it and I also replaced the cam gearshift. They get worn out over time... especially from hard downshifting.

  • hi again, so i the bike is working now but seems to me that something is wrong with the carb, since i have to start it with the throttle fully twisted and only then will it start, otherwise no. then i have the problem that the carb is constantly overflowing but i think i fixed that problem since when i screwed out the idle screw a bit it stopped. could you let me know how many turns your out on your idle screw and your fuel/air mixture screw. i live where it like mostly 30 degrees celcuis.turns?

  • hi, i just rebuilt my xr200r year 2000 and it was working fine before, now i am not getting any spark after i put it back together, i checked all connections and all are good, ohh and by rebuild i mean only taking the engine out of the frame and respraying everything so did nothing on the motor, any idea??

  • @uae3276 I bet it's a bad ground.....Probably where you have the wires ground to the frame, with the new paint on there its not making a good connection. Disconnect them and scratch the paint off to bare metal. If thats not it check your wires for your cdi box and coil. Let me know if this works, really bet it's the ground wire though.

  • @jfrost77hd where exactly is the ground since my dad is rebuidling it and i got a yfz so im just helping him out. like is is under the tank, down by the engine? thanks

  • @jfrost77hd working perfect now....check my channel i uploaded a video of it...

  • hey, you should get newer year plastics/ guards look heaps better, but that depends on you.

  • Hey thanks, I'll look into that.

  • @jfrost77hd no problem.

  • Yeah I know... I just hadn't started the bike in awhile and was messing with the choke and not paying attention....Thanks!

  • you shouldnt hold the kick start in the down position after the bike is started like u did because it destroys the gearbox... that ticking noise you hear when u hold the kickstart in place is the gears grinding together... just thort i would warn u dude :)

  • @XiiSliiKiiX lol you could tell he wasn't paying attention cause when he realized he threw his leg up pretty fast haha
