it's difficult for me to include teams before the 70's due to the scarcity of African American athletes, just as it's difficult to the historical validity of basketball teams prior to the Chamberlain/Russell era for that same reason. A respectable sample size MUST analyze competition against the very best athletes available, which blacks of West African genetic lineage have been proven to be time and again.
@daTruChosen It may be difficult for you but it's also arrogant to discount 40 years of history. Some of the best African American athletes to ever play the game played in the pre Superbowl era.
Top 10 OF THE SUPERBOWL ERA (that distinction is important): 1.) 1973 Pittsburgh Steelers 2.) 1989 San Francisco 49ers 3.) 1985 Chicago Bears 4.) 2000 Baltimore Ravens 5.) 1994 San Francisco 49ers. 6.) 1987 Washington Redskins 7.) 2003 New England Patriots 8.) 1991 Washington Redskins 9.) 2011 Green Bay Packers 10.) 2007 New England Patriots.
@daTruChosen The 73 steelers were arguably the "weakest" of their 1970s superbowl teams. Their only superbowl winning team that lower then them would have been their 05 team. 2000 ravens didn't even win their division. no wild card team ranks among the best. The 94 49ers were their second weakest superbowl team. 2011 season isn't over yet, so it's foolish to include them. 2007 pats didn't win the superbowl. they aren't even close to be top 10 worthy
The season isnt over yet. Alot could happen in the remaining weeks. Until the season is over, they aren't in contention. For all we know, they could loose the next 3 games, and lose divisional round of the playoffs. How many other teams at this point looked as good as the them. The 07 patriots, 09 colts, 09 saints, 98 broncos all started out 13-0 or better. None of those teams have any claim to being the best of all time. So as I said, until the season is over, it's moronic to call them the best
im a big niners fan and i have to ask how in the hell are the 89 forty niners not behind the perfection of the 72 dolphins. haha othyer than that great list
07 pats won the superbowl against giants if you see the official rulebook that touchdown pass wasnt a touchdown eli manning threw the ball when he couldnt i hate to see the refs not following the rulebook and at that moment is that the refs were so stupid for not looking in the rulebook to see that that throw wasnt a fair throw so new england's patriots went undefeated in 2007 and are the number one team in the best season record spot in the official nfl record book.
@JasnoGT I can't speak for the person who made the video. Personally, I don't think they are top 10 worthy because of one thing. They suffered the single worst loss of any eventual super bowl winner. "Any given Sunday" only accounts for so much. They were also a 3 loss team. When 40-8 loss to a middling team wasn't the only loss, they don't stack up to teams that won more, as or more dominant, or lost by less
I would take the 89 49ers. Playoffs are where teams are defined and they literally won every playoff game by at least 27 with an avg. margin of victory of over 33 pts a game.I think they were the most complete team with an explosive offensive with Montana, RIce, and Craig and a defense anchored by arguably the best DB to play the game in Ronnie Lott. I could totally see cases for 85 Bears, 72 Dolphins, or 62 Packers.
@ga20065 Ok you should probably look more in depth into how easy the '72 Dolphins season was compared to the '85 Bears. Fins barely won the playoff games and Bears had back to back shut outs. And the '07 Patriots? Sure they were great... but they LOST at the most important game ever. They can't be anywhere near compared to '72 or '85. Respectively.
@GodsWaffle Yeah that one game will always overshadow the amazing season they had in many peoples eyes, But the truth is the 2007 Patriots had the best offense in NFL History. There will never be another one like it, if there was any way they could ever play each other, I would take the 07 Pats over the 85 Bears without even thinking twice about it. I had the Pats at #2 because of that 1 game but if I was only going off talent and quality of team, The 2007 Patriots are the greatest of all time.
@ga20065 I think there is a chance a team will be greater offensively than the 07 Pats due to the kickoff rule resulting in a touchback nearly everytime. No clock runs off resulting in more offensive plays and b/c teams will have the opportunity to drive 80 yds, a lot more yds for offenses, just look at all the 300 yd passers in week 1. The 07 Pats were the best regular season team so far but even in the playoffs they struggled against the Chargers and obviously had problems with the Giants.
@BNS224 If thre is it'll be the 2011 New England Patriots. you wanna talk about all the 300 yard games QB's are having, Tom Brady's had a 500 yarder and a 400 yarder. And its only week 2
@ga20065 Maybe the season is still young. I mean the Bills are avg. nearly 40 pts a game after 2 weeks. We'll have to wait and see. My point is with all the rule changes like the kickoff and allowing WR to not be touched outside 5 yds I expect a lot of teams in the future to eclipse the offensive achievements of the 2007 Pats.
@MrRigo619 There will always be brainless morons. No 11-5 team that failed to win a superbowl can compare to teams who won more games, by more points, and actually won the big one.
@MrRigo619 Number 15 on the list went 13-1 and was incredibly dominant other then that one loss. Number 10, went 11-3 and their average margin of victory was 18 points. By the way, your chargers' average was 9 points. Only a brainless moron could think the 94 chargers were a top 10 team of all time
@kingko55 Didn't even make it to the superbowl. One of the best teams to make not make it to the superbowl, but without having won the big one, they aren't a top 10 team of all time
@toxicdishsoap the 78 steelers were actually voted the best team ever last year in sports illustrated magazine. the 85 bears were 2nd. the 76 steelers went 10-4 and didnt even make it to the super bowl. the 78 steelers went 14-2 and won the super bowl. 78 better than 76 easy
93 Cowboys should be in the top 10 no questions asked they are better than most of the teams you have put like 71 cowboys, 96 packers, 91 Redskins, 07 Pats, 99 Rams and 72 Dolphins.
@gamelvr1 People like to think that the '72 Phins were not very dominant because they didn't run up the score (except against the Pats 52-0). Miami almost ran for 3000yds in 14 games! That's over 200yds a game!
The reason there weren't many blowouts is because they played with class and payed TO WIN THE GAME. This is not the BCS. They controlled the clock, ran the ball, and played great D.
And U can't bash 'em for having a good backup QB. Isn't he part of the team 2?
Oh, come on. You were doing so well before you put the 85 Bears at number 1. I think the 75 Steelers were better than the 79 Steelers, and the 84 49ers were better than the 89 team. The 76 Raiders I think should be in the top 10. They only lost 1 game, and were never threatened by anyone other then the Pats that year. Maybe the 86 Giants over the 91 Redskins, but that is Ok. You did very well other then the Bears at #1.
the 85 Bears are the best statistically and most analyst agree plus I think its six guys from that team are coachs now hands down best defense ever and on top of it they didnt have hardly any good recievers and they were smashin on everybody the only reason the dolphins won is because Dan Marino found a way to dissect the 4-6 bear defense yeah everyteam gets lucky theres always accidents like what happend to the patriots in 07 it was an accident they were a better team but they fucked up
are you serious bro the 2011 packers rolled over 13 3 number one seed falcons 42 21 and mike vick and the eagels and you say we didnt win are division we beat the bears twice and witch one of those wins occured in the nfc championship so techinically we one are division you say not even top 20 did you forget we won the super bowl with over ten starters out just look at it my way only teams that could defeat that packers team during the post season is the 07 pats and the 89 49ers
@josieLarreola The 2011 season hasn't happened yet you retard. It may never happen. No intelligent person would say the 2011 Packers did those things. It was the 2010 Packers you retard.
@PackerManForLife the 85 bears will stomp tramp and killl the packers the packers of the 2010 were good im not going to lie even coming from a bears fan but the are not the best
@MrMiami00000 Ya ur tough dude, u have to take the bears BEST season in their long ass history to just try to compare to the packers this year. If u take the packers 67' team they wuld crush the 85' bears... so stfu ur just another person thats mad the packers won the SB, with 1/3 of their roster on injury reserve (dont forget that fact) ... panzee ass
@PackerManForLife ok if you didnt noticee this is the top ten team of all time you said this years the only team that could defeat the packers was the 07 pats and 89 49ers i said the 85 beaars would kill you guys its true not being tough i could take any other bears team too
More like fudge packer for life with cheese for fuckin brains. I bet you would admit the '85 bears are the best team in history if it means you get to take it in the ass from aaron rodgers while giving favre a reach around.
@Yoder23m - boo frickity hoo! I hate mofos like you who act like the patriots are the only team who ever cheated... it's called being competitive you're probably a cleveland fan or some shit and have no idea wat i'm talking about lol. The '07 Pats are the best team to ever play the game or they're at least tied w/ the '85 bears and the '72 dolphins. I'm a pats fan but i'm willing to put them 3rd all time cuz they blew it. that team would have murdered the '99 rams tho.
@idontnoapassword - hah! Ya Eli Manning and the 10-6 Giants were better than the 16-0 patriots. The patriots beat themselves that game everyone knows it. the pats played what was probably their worst game that year and david tyree had to pull that catch out of his ass for the giants to even win. I'll admit that because the giants won it in the superbowl they were the better team that year. but everyone will remember that the patriots lost it, not that the giants won it. and that's that.
@bucky90269 ya, pats didn't come to play that game. but the gaints did. people always blame the o line but i blame them to but alot of dissapointment for me came from brady. but true, it will always be remembered as the pats who lost then the giants who won.
@bucky90269 FUCK THE BROWNS hahah and the 07 pats wouldent stand a chance against the 85 bears or the raiders defense of the 70's and the steeler curtain would make brady cry you forget brady is the most protected QB in the game and lemme guess you have been a pats fan since there first superbowl win right hmm there oook i 07 pats are number 7
@Yoder23m - Haha actually bro i live about 20 minutes away from gillette stadium and have been going to games since I was 6 back when it was foxboro stadium. Get ur head out of the clouds i gave the '85 bears their respect, but in reality the players of the past couldn't be compared to the players today. So it's laughable to say defenses from the 70's could shut down the most dynamic offense of all time. And that's in todays game not the past... Patriot Reign MOFO!
@bucky90269 hahahhaahah you got the head in the clouds please moss wouldent know what to do if mel blount covering him and with no run game like that pats had that season they would not stand a chance of the 70's best defenses and please if brady had to play by the rules other QBs did hed suck but noooo you can touch him without fines flags or some bull shit the only respect i have for the pats was the first superbowl team that lost before brady and billicheat and i respect teddy B
@Yoder23m - Wat dude your argument doesn't even make sense. 1st of all moss had 100 catches, 1,500 yards, and set the single season record with 23 tds. That's pretty much the best season a wide out has ever had. The team had 1,900 total rushing yards.. also a good season not great but good. Most players from the 70's wouldn't make it in the pros if they traveled through time. And last time I checked the refs cottle all QBs not just Brady, you can't touch him cuz their o line is one of the best.
@bucky90269 get the fuck out of here i watched VICK and BEN get be horribly and cheaply all season dont give me bullshit they are fair and of course they couldent play now because the league is a pussy league now thanks to pussys like brady who cry sooo much mell blount woulld smack moss in the mouth soo hard hed cry just like if bo jackson or night train hit brady hed cry like a bitch and theyd be kicked out only pats fans like you think the pats are not cheaters
@bucky90269 why would u say players from 70s wouldn't make it. it was harder for players to run a route and everything back then. nfl players could get away with a closeline in a game. you no the def. pass interf. rule has been changed 4 times since the 70s? oh and jerry rice caught 20 td passes in 11 games. like to see moss do that. like you must be the only guy that thinks a.p is better then bary. or asomugha is better then deion. and ya, he is the most protected qb in the league.
@idontnoapassword - most players from the 70's couldn't play in the nfl based on evolution. Dick butkis is clearly an exception but he was an abnormally big linebacker. most players from that era r too small and too slow to play in the league today. and wat is the point jus because jerry rice was better than moss doesn't mean moss sucks? he's one of the best to ever play you two r jus haterz . u don't get it deion and barry played in a more recent era has nothing to do w wat im saying.
@bucky90269 i only mentioned that because u said That's pretty much the best season a wide out has ever had.". i had to disagree. mike singeltary, walter payton on the 85 bears. those players could play nowadays. the defensive linemen avg over 280 on the 85 bears. a lot of people think they were smaller n shit but they weren't exactly. vick is the qb that isn't protected by refs for obv reasons. can't really tel lif there faster or slower because don't have records of them and films they move
@idontnoapassword - dude wat? i only said that bout moss cuz that kid was trashing on him for the 07' season and it was one of the best season's for any wide out ever. Mike Singletary and walter payton aren't average joes they are some of the best players at their position, hall of famers. I'm talking about the over whelming majority of the league, not the exception like i said previously. Most of the players of that era were smaller and slower than players are today.
@bucky90269 - They would have a hard time competeing a lot of it is a culture change people today take better care of themselves they are also playing at a higher level at a younger age. Would i say the players of the past had more heart and grittiness ya they played with more passion back then. and everything is all about entertainment present day not about sport.
@bucky90269 oh ya and remember rice's 1900 yard season with 15 td's and 122 receptions. believe that was better then mosses. oh and messed up . 12 games 22 td's
@bucky90269 That's a myth about players today being superior than the players from the '70s and '80s. The fact is it was a tougher, nastier game back then. Your Patriots would get their asses handed to them by the '70s Steelers or the '80s 49ers. Brady couldn't hold a candle to Elway, Marino, Montana, Staubach, and other QBs of the past.
@niksinthe916 But remember what the '88 team did in the NFC Championship in Chicago. They destroyed the Vikings the week before as well. In the Superbowl, they moved the ball with ease but had trouble scoring. (Didn't help that the kicking game was suspect.) And even then they still won the game. I wouldn't put the '81 team on the list. I loved that team but they pretty much won because no defense could figure out Walsh's passing game. The '81 team had no running game at all.
@zazozung Ya but the 81 team had something that no other team had before a offence that had never been seen before. I think the best thing about the 88 team was them overcoming there mistakes. teams that were also powerhouse teams that didn't win were the 87 and 90 teams niners could just as easy have 7 superbowls. I would say the best of all the 49ers teams were the steve young lead 94 team. Even though the 84 team went 15-1 I still like that 94 offence
i think that list is right all but number one 85 bears come on a bears fan made that list i think the most dominate team of all time it would be 2011 packers from week 16 all thru the post season to the super bowl they rolled over very good teams
@josieLarreola Actually the 85 bears are the team most often picked as the best of all time by sports analysts. Also the packers couldn't even win their division. They only went 10-6 (regular season). Which is tied for the worst record of superbowl winners. Their post season performance was reasonable but far from amazing. They're one of the better wildcard winners of the superbowl, but aren't even top 20 of the superbowl era overall
@gamelvr1 The 2010 Packers are the first team in the Super Bowl era to not be down by more than 7 points at any point in the regular season or the postseason. Even the 72 Dolphins can't claim that.
@TheChainsawNinja That doesn't negate the fact that they lost 6 games. Tied for the worst among superbowl winners. They couldn't even win their division. A team that has the worst record of super bowl winners, not to mention not winning their division, will never stack up to teams who were more dominant, and did better then them.
@josieLarreola yea almost losing to a second string QB and only winning by 7 is "rolling" get the fuck out, the only team they "rolled" was the falcons.
Me personally, the 1989 49ers were unstoppable, in a game against the eagles they were losing by 11 in the 4th quarter, they went on to score 28 points in that quarter alone, that stadium was rocking before that 28 point outburst, after that last jerry rice TD that field resembled a ghost town, the fans or the eagles didnt know what hit 'em, the '85 bears wouldnt beat this team.
@soycd666 If a team were unbeatable, they wouldn't have been beat. They lost two games, to the rams and the packers. The 89 49ers aren't even the best 49er team. The 84 squad was better
@sipaia1 This isn't a about franchises you idiot, it's about individual teams (for example the 85 bears, 72 dolphins). Only a retard would just say what you did, when that ISN'T an relevant comment
if u have any comments or want to bitch, cry, or complain about what i just said you can do 2 things either send me a e-mail and try wich u wont proove me wrong or come to elizabethtown N.C and ask where i stay and come get that ass beat dont type nothing about me because that just shows how big of a pussy u r thank ya!
hold up wait a minute i dont care what any of u fagets say the pittsburgh steelers r the best team ever count the superbowl rings 6 the most in NFL... oh whats that u say thats back then ha ha ha well example if u have the most touchdowns or thrown completions ur known to have a record ur the best until someone beats it.
@jacobsasser1 LOL, UR DUMB,count em, packers 13 championships. Bears-9 championships,steelers-6 championships. u guys arent even close, and btw those championships DO count, i dont see anybody taking away the celtics titles!! eat it whore, ur 3rd!!!!
@Dragonsayian no, anyone with a brain counts them, u cant just lop-off 40 years of history. for half of the celtics titles there were only 10 teams in the leauge!! but people still count them.
@pj1994fe Those pre superbowl era championships aren't discarded just in a seperated bracket of that own era before 1965 because of an AFL champion and a NFL champion it was seperated of two leagues . But most persons consider true canon NFL championships is Superbowl rings a franschise has like they would say Pitt has 6 rings ,S.F. and Dallas has 5 rings maybe G.B. this year 5 too . and N.E ,NYG and Was. People generally compare superbowl rings to each other .
@Dragonsayian Only people who don't no better do not count NFL Championships. The prize has always been the same, the best in the NFL. The AFL and the NFL existed less than a decade as separate leagues. Some of the greatest players and teams played before the Superbowl era.
This is pathetic. Any list that doesn't have the 72 Dolphins as #1 is retarded. Only team to go undefeated...therefore no other team can compare. And this is coming from a 9ers fan.
@DonkeyKongSmith39 The 07 pats one 1 game more and won all there games with ease. Besides, befor the playoffs existed there were 12 teams that went 8-0. Who's to say they wouldn't have kept winning?
@MrTeracotapie The patriots win ALL of their games with ease that year. The patriots were loosing by 10 in the 4th quarter against the colts and won by 4. It took a 4th quarter touchdown to get a 3 point win over the eagles. It also took a touchdown with less then a minute left in the game to beat the ravens. The Giants Also took them to the limit in their regular season matchup. It's moronic to say all their wins that year were with ease.
@HaloElitesrule Because the 72 dolphins faced a pathetically easy schedule. They didn't face a single team during the regular season that made the playoffs. Their opponent's average record was 5-9. When they made it to the playoffs, they struggled, winning by 6, 4, 7 points. They were underdogs in the superbowl for good reason. If every eventual sb winner faced that pathetically easy of a schedule we'd have more undefeated teams.
@HaloElitesrule The 85 bears played a tougher schedule, were more dominant, and only had one loss (to a very good team) in a game where their starting qb was out. If the dolphins even faced a mediocre schedule (like they did the next year), they would have NEVER gone undefeated. Most analysts agree, the 85 bears were the best of all time.
@gamelvr1 One, there is no such thing as a weak team, it's all about who plays harder. Second, this was before the extension to 16 games. Also don't talk about losing a starting QB, because THE DOLPHINS LOST BOB GRIESE, THEIR STARTING QB FOR MOST OF THE SEASON! If it wasn't any significant, then WHY CAN'T ANYONE ELSE DO IT!? The Dolphins didn't care about going undefeated, teams afterwards did. Since they care so much THEY CHOKE! Also I no analysts and they agree the 72 Dolphins cont. in part 2
@HaloElitesrule Yes the dolphins lost griese, you're forgetting who his backup was. Earl Morral, while not a hall of famer, he was a very capable qb, taking the colts to two previous superbowls. The bears qb was a nobody by the name of steve fuller. There's a big difference. The dolphins were in a position where there backup was arguably just as capable as their starter. Actually if you look at analysts' top 10 lists, most list the bears as the best of all time.
@HaloElitesrule Strength of schedule does mean something, if you play downright terrible teams the entire year, of course you're going to have an easier time having a good record. The dolphins played an insanely easy schedule, there's no doubt had they faced even a mediocre schedule, they wouldn't have been undefeated.
@HaloElitesrule Also, look at the bears results from that season. They played 5 teams that made the playoffs that season. Including their 3 postseason games, their 7 wins over those teams was by an average of 28.5-4.7 points. Factoring in the loss to the dolphins, it was still an average of 28-8.4. That's pure domination against actually good teams unlike the dolphins.
@gamelvr1 You're just one of those people that can't handle the fact that your team isn't the one undefeated. You're like the media, you'll do whatever it takes to bring something or someone you don't like down. Look at the fact the 72 Dolphins are the best team the NFL ever had because they are PERFECT! I will admit the 85 Bears were tough, but not good enough to beat greats like Mercury Morris, Bob Griese, the collective "No Name" defense, and more.
@HaloElitesrule Sounds like you're the one oblivious to the truth. I don't even like the bears. I'm a Bengals fan. When looking at the history of the league, I'm analytical and unbiased. It actually seems like you're the one who's biased. The 72 dolphins were a great team, but NOT the best of all time.
@gamelvr1 dude your picks are pretty pathetic; its your opinion though so whatever ...
85 bears would not have beaten any one of the steeler teams in 70s---nor would they beat 84 and 89 niners--packers in 60s cowboys in 77---all better teams than bears (they had ONE good yr)
@gamelvr1 I'm not biased, and I thought about it, and I cam to a conclusion. Why the hell are we argueing about this? We can through the numbers and facts at each other pretending that they hurt all we want, but it doens't prove anything. The only we we can find out is if the teams faced each other, but that won't happen as they are too old, all we can do is speculate. You got your opinion, I got mine, so lets leave it at that.
I realize everyone's opinions are going to differ. I also loved the 85' Bears and while I understand how people can have different opinions, I fail to see any reason for such animosity by anyone over the Bears being ranked first. The Bears Defense was completely awesome that year. The offense had all the elements of a successful one, good OL, great RB and a passing game solid enough to spread the ball around the field and take advantage of any opening given to it.
@gamelvr1 Is this even your video and I highly Doubt you kno more about football than my uncle or I. Now to the matter of my guts I was on a phone at the time sorry I can't copy your screen name exactly while I'm I suppose you may call it texting. So do you care to quit insulting me I like most of your opinions and would like to discuss this further.
Yea why do you insult everyone your really making yourself look like a jerk. Odds are you have no idea what teams are good and which ones aren't so you care to be a little kinder to people who bother to comment?
@Gerow100 I know more about football history then anyone you'll likely ever know. Also any particular reason why you didn't actually have the guts to reply to me (it's apparent your comment was directed towards me)? An intelligent person would actually reply, that way the person would actually know about it. Otherwise, the only way they'll know is if they come back to the video. I know what good teams are, if you look at a lot of the comments on this video, many don't.
@49erswillis The 72 dolphins played a pathetically easy schedule. It was arguably the single easiest schedule EVER faced by an eventual superbowl champ. The only times they played good teams (in the post season) they were close games. They were underdogs in the superbowl for good reason. If every superbowl winner had to face the equivalent of their schedule, we'd have far more undefeated teams. The 85 bears are the best team of all time.
@Gerow100 I'm assuming that you mean both the 1970 and 2006 teams. Neither of those teams were top 10 of time material. Also for the record, actually specify next time.
why the hell are the 7 steelers #5 they had the most scariest defence of all time

@Thehellobob2000 i mean the 79 steelers

The 94 49ers were their second weakest superbowl team. 2011 season isn't over yet, so it's foolish to include them. 2007 pats didn't win the superbowl. they aren't even close to be top 10 worthy
gamelvr1 2 months ago
The 2007 Patriots didn't win the Superbowl. I don't see how you can put them at # 7 when they didn't win the championship.
The 1978 Steelers were better than the 1979 Steelers, so I'm not sure how the '79 team made the list.
Also, you put the 1971 Cowboys on there, but I thought the 1977 Cowboys were better.

bax323 2 months ago
The season isnt over yet. Alot could happen in the remaining weeks. Until the season is over, they aren't in contention. For all we know, they could loose the next 3 games, and lose divisional round of the playoffs. How many other teams at this point looked as good as the them. The 07 patriots, 09 colts, 09 saints, 98 broncos all started out 13-0 or better. None of those teams have any claim to being the best of all time. So as I said, until the season is over, it's moronic to call them the best

JasnoGT 4 months ago
@JasnoGT I can't speak for the person who made the video. Personally, I don't think they are top 10 worthy because of one thing. They suffered the single worst loss of any eventual super bowl winner. "Any given Sunday" only accounts for so much. They were also a 3 loss team. When 40-8 loss to a middling team wasn't the only loss, they don't stack up to teams that won more, as or more dominant, or lost by less
gamelvr1 4 months ago
the 07 pats cheated... and still lost the superbowl.
nickganczak 5 months ago
I would take the 89 49ers. Playoffs are where teams are defined and they literally won every playoff game by at least 27 with an avg. margin of victory of over 33 pts a game.I think they were the most complete team with an explosive offensive with Montana, RIce, and Craig and a defense anchored by arguably the best DB to play the game in Ronnie Lott. I could totally see cases for 85 Bears, 72 Dolphins, or 62 Packers.

Okay Number one should easily be the 72 dolphins beyond any doubt. They never lost. No other team on the list can say that. Here's the real top 3:
#1. 72 Dolphins
#2. 07 Patriots
#3. 85 Bears
ga20065 6 months ago
@ga20065 Ok you should probably look more in depth into how easy the '72 Dolphins season was compared to the '85 Bears. Fins barely won the playoff games and Bears had back to back shut outs. And the '07 Patriots? Sure they were great... but they LOST at the most important game ever. They can't be anywhere near compared to '72 or '85. Respectively.
GodsWaffle 6 months ago
@GodsWaffle Yeah that one game will always overshadow the amazing season they had in many peoples eyes, But the truth is the 2007 Patriots had the best offense in NFL History. There will never be another one like it, if there was any way they could ever play each other, I would take the 07 Pats over the 85 Bears without even thinking twice about it. I had the Pats at #2 because of that 1 game but if I was only going off talent and quality of team, The 2007 Patriots are the greatest of all time.
ga20065 6 months ago
@ga20065 I think there is a chance a team will be greater offensively than the 07 Pats due to the kickoff rule resulting in a touchback nearly everytime. No clock runs off resulting in more offensive plays and b/c teams will have the opportunity to drive 80 yds, a lot more yds for offenses, just look at all the 300 yd passers in week 1. The 07 Pats were the best regular season team so far but even in the playoffs they struggled against the Chargers and obviously had problems with the Giants.
BNS224 5 months ago
@BNS224 If thre is it'll be the 2011 New England Patriots. you wanna talk about all the 300 yard games QB's are having, Tom Brady's had a 500 yarder and a 400 yarder. And its only week 2
ga20065 5 months ago
@ga20065 Maybe the season is still young. I mean the Bills are avg. nearly 40 pts a game after 2 weeks. We'll have to wait and see. My point is with all the rule changes like the kickoff and allowing WR to not be touched outside 5 yds I expect a lot of teams in the future to eclipse the offensive achievements of the 2007 Pats.

Isn't he part of the team 2?

filthyswit 7 months ago
Oh, come on. You were doing so well before you put the 85 Bears at number 1. I think the 75 Steelers were better than the 79 Steelers, and the 84 49ers were better than the 89 team. The 76 Raiders I think should be in the top 10. They only lost 1 game, and were never threatened by anyone other then the Pats that year. Maybe the 86 Giants over the 91 Redskins, but that is Ok. You did very well other then the Bears at #1.
warnerfoutsmontana 9 months ago
the 85 Bears are the best statistically and most analyst agree plus I think its six guys from that team are coachs now hands down best defense ever and on top of it they didnt have hardly any good recievers and they were smashin on everybody the only reason the dolphins won is because Dan Marino found a way to dissect the 4-6 bear defense yeah everyteam gets lucky theres always accidents like what happend to the patriots in 07 it was an accident they were a better team but they fucked up

@bucky90269 alot of teams better then the 2007 pat's. like the 2007 giants.
idontnoapassword 11 months ago 2
@idontnoapassword - hah! Ya Eli Manning and the 10-6 Giants were better than the 16-0 patriots. The patriots beat themselves that game everyone knows it. the pats played what was probably their worst game that year and david tyree had to pull that catch out of his ass for the giants to even win. I'll admit that because the giants won it in the superbowl they were the better team that year. but everyone will remember that the patriots lost it, not that the giants won it. and that's that.
bucky90269 11 months ago
@bucky90269 ya, pats didn't come to play that game. but the gaints did. people always blame the o line but i blame them to but alot of dissapointment for me came from brady. but true, it will always be remembered as the pats who lost then the giants who won.
idontnoapassword 11 months ago
@bucky90269 FUCK THE BROWNS hahah and the 07 pats wouldent stand a chance against the 85 bears or the raiders defense of the 70's and the steeler curtain would make brady cry you forget brady is the most protected QB in the game and lemme guess you have been a pats fan since there first superbowl win right hmm there oook i 07 pats are number 7
Yoder23m 11 months ago
@Yoder23m - Haha actually bro i live about 20 minutes away from gillette stadium and have been going to games since I was 6 back when it was foxboro stadium. Get ur head out of the clouds i gave the '85 bears their respect, but in reality the players of the past couldn't be compared to the players today. So it's laughable to say defenses from the 70's could shut down the most dynamic offense of all time. And that's in todays game not the past... Patriot Reign MOFO!
bucky90269 11 months ago
@bucky90269 hahahhaahah you got the head in the clouds please moss wouldent know what to do if mel blount covering him and with no run game like that pats had that season they would not stand a chance of the 70's best defenses and please if brady had to play by the rules other QBs did hed suck but noooo you can touch him without fines flags or some bull shit the only respect i have for the pats was the first superbowl team that lost before brady and billicheat and i respect teddy B
Yoder23m 11 months ago
@Yoder23m - Wat dude your argument doesn't even make sense. 1st of all moss had 100 catches, 1,500 yards, and set the single season record with 23 tds. That's pretty much the best season a wide out has ever had. The team had 1,900 total rushing yards.. also a good season not great but good. Most players from the 70's wouldn't make it in the pros if they traveled through time. And last time I checked the refs cottle all QBs not just Brady, you can't touch him cuz their o line is one of the best.
bucky90269 11 months ago
@bucky90269 get the fuck out of here i watched VICK and BEN get be horribly and cheaply all season dont give me bullshit they are fair and of course they couldent play now because the league is a pussy league now thanks to pussys like brady who cry sooo much mell blount woulld smack moss in the mouth soo hard hed cry just like if bo jackson or night train hit brady hed cry like a bitch and theyd be kicked out only pats fans like you think the pats are not cheaters
Yoder23m 11 months ago
@bucky90269 why would u say players from 70s wouldn't make it. it was harder for players to run a route and everything back then. nfl players could get away with a closeline in a game. you no the def. pass interf. rule has been changed 4 times since the 70s? oh and jerry rice caught 20 td passes in 11 games. like to see moss do that. like you must be the only guy that thinks a.p is better then bary. or asomugha is better then deion. and ya, he is the most protected qb in the league.
idontnoapassword 11 months ago
@idontnoapassword - most players from the 70's couldn't play in the nfl based on evolution. Dick butkis is clearly an exception but he was an abnormally big linebacker. most players from that era r too small and too slow to play in the league today. and wat is the point jus because jerry rice was better than moss doesn't mean moss sucks? he's one of the best to ever play you two r jus haterz . u don't get it deion and barry played in a more recent era has nothing to do w wat im saying.
bucky90269 11 months ago
@bucky90269 i only mentioned that because u said That's pretty much the best season a wide out has ever had.". i had to disagree. mike singeltary, walter payton on the 85 bears. those players could play nowadays. the defensive linemen avg over 280 on the 85 bears. a lot of people think they were smaller n shit but they weren't exactly. vick is the qb that isn't protected by refs for obv reasons. can't really tel lif there faster or slower because don't have records of them and films they move
idontnoapassword 11 months ago
@idontnoapassword - dude wat? i only said that bout moss cuz that kid was trashing on him for the 07' season and it was one of the best season's for any wide out ever. Mike Singletary and walter payton aren't average joes they are some of the best players at their position, hall of famers. I'm talking about the over whelming majority of the league, not the exception like i said previously. Most of the players of that era were smaller and slower than players are today.
bucky90269 11 months ago
@bucky90269 - They would have a hard time competeing a lot of it is a culture change people today take better care of themselves they are also playing at a higher level at a younger age. Would i say the players of the past had more heart and grittiness ya they played with more passion back then. and everything is all about entertainment present day not about sport.
bucky90269 11 months ago
@bucky90269 2miles per hour. but they were bigger fast and quicker but not like people think.
idontnoapassword 11 months ago
@bucky90269 oh ya and remember rice's 1900 yard season with 15 td's and 122 receptions. believe that was better then mosses. oh and messed up . 12 games 22 td's
idontnoapassword 11 months ago
@bucky90269 do u also think butkis and l.t fail also and clay mathews is better then them?
idontnoapassword 11 months ago
@bucky90269 That's a myth about players today being superior than the players from the '70s and '80s. The fact is it was a tougher, nastier game back then. Your Patriots would get their asses handed to them by the '70s Steelers or the '80s 49ers. Brady couldn't hold a candle to Elway, Marino, Montana, Staubach, and other QBs of the past.
zazozung 4 months ago
I'm not going out on a ledge to say that i would put 4 of the 49ers teams in there the only one i would leave out would be the 88 squad.
niksinthe916 11 months ago
@niksinthe916 But remember what the '88 team did in the NFC Championship in Chicago. They destroyed the Vikings the week before as well. In the Superbowl, they moved the ball with ease but had trouble scoring. (Didn't help that the kicking game was suspect.) And even then they still won the game. I wouldn't put the '81 team on the list. I loved that team but they pretty much won because no defense could figure out Walsh's passing game. The '81 team had no running game at all.
zazozung 4 months ago
@zazozung Ya but the 81 team had something that no other team had before a offence that had never been seen before. I think the best thing about the 88 team was them overcoming there mistakes. teams that were also powerhouse teams that didn't win were the 87 and 90 teams niners could just as easy have 7 superbowls. I would say the best of all the 49ers teams were the steve young lead 94 team. Even though the 84 team went 15-1 I still like that 94 offence
niksinthe916 4 months ago
i think that list is right all but number one 85 bears come on a bears fan made that list i think the most dominate team of all time it would be 2011 packers from week 16 all thru the post season to the super bowl they rolled over very good teams
josieLarreola 11 months ago
@josieLarreola Actually the 85 bears are the team most often picked as the best of all time by sports analysts. Also the packers couldn't even win their division. They only went 10-6 (regular season). Which is tied for the worst record of superbowl winners. Their post season performance was reasonable but far from amazing. They're one of the better wildcard winners of the superbowl, but aren't even top 20 of the superbowl era overall
gamelvr1 11 months ago
@gamelvr1 The 2010 Packers are the first team in the Super Bowl era to not be down by more than 7 points at any point in the regular season or the postseason. Even the 72 Dolphins can't claim that.
TheChainsawNinja 11 months ago
@TheChainsawNinja That doesn't negate the fact that they lost 6 games. Tied for the worst among superbowl winners. They couldn't even win their division. A team that has the worst record of super bowl winners, not to mention not winning their division, will never stack up to teams who were more dominant, and did better then them.
gamelvr1 11 months ago
@josieLarreola yea almost losing to a second string QB and only winning by 7 is "rolling" get the fuck out, the only team they "rolled" was the falcons.
pj1994fe 4 months ago
Me personally, the 1989 49ers were unstoppable, in a game against the eagles they were losing by 11 in the 4th quarter, they went on to score 28 points in that quarter alone, that stadium was rocking before that 28 point outburst, after that last jerry rice TD that field resembled a ghost town, the fans or the eagles didnt know what hit 'em, the '85 bears wouldnt beat this team.
soycd666 1 year ago
@soycd666 If a team were unbeatable, they wouldn't have been beat. They lost two games, to the rams and the packers. The 89 49ers aren't even the best 49er team. The 84 squad was better

@Dragonsayian no, anyone with a brain counts them, u cant just lop-off 40 years of history. for half of the celtics titles there were only 10 teams in the leauge!! but people still count them.
pj1994fe 3 months ago
@pj1994fe Those pre superbowl era championships aren't discarded just in a seperated bracket of that own era before 1965 because of an AFL champion and a NFL champion it was seperated of two leagues . But most persons consider true canon NFL championships is Superbowl rings a franschise has like they would say Pitt has 6 rings ,S.F. and Dallas has 5 rings maybe G.B. this year 5 too . and N.E ,NYG and Was. People generally compare superbowl rings to each other .
Dragonsayian 3 months ago
@Dragonsayian Only people who don't no better do not count NFL Championships. The prize has always been the same, the best in the NFL. The AFL and the NFL existed less than a decade as separate leagues. Some of the greatest players and teams played before the Superbowl era.

@gamelvr1 I meant to say they DIDN'T win all ALL of their games.

How the hell did the 85 Bears beat out the PERFECT RECORD of the 72 Dolphins?
HaloElitesrule 1 year ago
@HaloElitesrule Because the 72 dolphins faced a pathetically easy schedule. They didn't face a single team during the regular season that made the playoffs. Their opponent's average record was 5-9. When they made it to the playoffs, they struggled, winning by 6, 4, 7 points. They were underdogs in the superbowl for good reason. If every eventual sb winner faced that pathetically easy of a schedule we'd have more undefeated teams.
gamelvr1 1 year ago
@HaloElitesrule The 85 bears played a tougher schedule, were more dominant, and only had one loss (to a very good team) in a game where their starting qb was out. If the dolphins even faced a mediocre schedule (like they did the next year), they would have NEVER gone undefeated. Most analysts agree, the 85 bears were the best of all time.
gamelvr1 1 year ago
@gamelvr1 One, there is no such thing as a weak team, it's all about who plays harder. Second, this was before the extension to 16 games. Also don't talk about losing a starting QB, because THE DOLPHINS LOST BOB GRIESE, THEIR STARTING QB FOR MOST OF THE SEASON! If it wasn't any significant, then WHY CAN'T ANYONE ELSE DO IT!? The Dolphins didn't care about going undefeated, teams afterwards did. Since they care so much THEY CHOKE! Also I no analysts and they agree the 72 Dolphins cont. in part 2
HaloElitesrule 1 year ago
@HaloElitesrule Yes the dolphins lost griese, you're forgetting who his backup was. Earl Morral, while not a hall of famer, he was a very capable qb, taking the colts to two previous superbowls. The bears qb was a nobody by the name of steve fuller. There's a big difference. The dolphins were in a position where there backup was arguably just as capable as their starter. Actually if you look at analysts' top 10 lists, most list the bears as the best of all time.
gamelvr1 1 year ago
@HaloElitesrule Strength of schedule does mean something, if you play downright terrible teams the entire year, of course you're going to have an easier time having a good record. The dolphins played an insanely easy schedule, there's no doubt had they faced even a mediocre schedule, they wouldn't have been undefeated.
gamelvr1 1 year ago
@gamelvr1 Part 2 are the best team in history. If you are too ignorant to understand that then thats your problem.
HaloElitesrule 1 year ago
@HaloElitesrule Also, look at the bears results from that season. They played 5 teams that made the playoffs that season. Including their 3 postseason games, their 7 wins over those teams was by an average of 28.5-4.7 points. Factoring in the loss to the dolphins, it was still an average of 28-8.4. That's pure domination against actually good teams unlike the dolphins.
gamelvr1 1 year ago
@gamelvr1 You're just one of those people that can't handle the fact that your team isn't the one undefeated. You're like the media, you'll do whatever it takes to bring something or someone you don't like down. Look at the fact the 72 Dolphins are the best team the NFL ever had because they are PERFECT! I will admit the 85 Bears were tough, but not good enough to beat greats like Mercury Morris, Bob Griese, the collective "No Name" defense, and more.
HaloElitesrule 1 year ago
@HaloElitesrule Sounds like you're the one oblivious to the truth. I don't even like the bears. I'm a Bengals fan. When looking at the history of the league, I'm analytical and unbiased. It actually seems like you're the one who's biased. The 72 dolphins were a great team, but NOT the best of all time.
gamelvr1 1 year ago
@gamelvr1 dude your picks are pretty pathetic; its your opinion though so whatever ...
85 bears would not have beaten any one of the steeler teams in 70s---nor would they beat 84 and 89 niners--packers in 60s cowboys in 77---all better teams than bears (they had ONE good yr)
and i can go on and on with this probably
primomysterio 1 year ago
@gamelvr1 I'm not biased, and I thought about it, and I cam to a conclusion. Why the hell are we argueing about this? We can through the numbers and facts at each other pretending that they hurt all we want, but it doens't prove anything. The only we we can find out is if the teams faced each other, but that won't happen as they are too old, all we can do is speculate. You got your opinion, I got mine, so lets leave it at that.

WOO GO 85 BEARS!!!
34sweetnessNFL 1 year ago

Gerow100 1 year ago
Yea why do you insult everyone your really making yourself look like a jerk. Odds are you have no idea what teams are good and which ones aren't so you care to be a little kinder to people who bother to comment?
Gerow100 1 year ago
@Gerow100 I know more about football history then anyone you'll likely ever know. Also any particular reason why you didn't actually have the guts to reply to me (it's apparent your comment was directed towards me)? An intelligent person would actually reply, that way the person would actually know about it. Otherwise, the only way they'll know is if they come back to the video. I know what good teams are, if you look at a lot of the comments on this video, many don't.
gamelvr1 1 year ago
@Gerow100 As for your original comment, what were you thinking? That is meaningless garble. No intelligent person would have posted such a comment.

steelers gotta be numba 2 or one
weezy22fresh 1 year ago
@weezy22fresh There are 6 steelers teams that won a superbowl. Only a brainless retard would just say steelers and not say which team.
gamelvr1 1 year ago
72' Dolphins have to be number #1. 07' Patriots were a damn good team, but you have to win a SB plain and simple.
49erswillis 1 year ago
@49erswillis The 72 dolphins played a pathetically easy schedule. It was arguably the single easiest schedule EVER faced by an eventual superbowl champ. The only times they played good teams (in the post season) they were close games. They were underdogs in the superbowl for good reason. If every superbowl winner had to face the equivalent of their schedule, we'd have far more undefeated teams. The 85 bears are the best team of all time.

Where are the (Baltimore) Indianapolis Colts
Gerow100 1 year ago
@Gerow100 I'm assuming that you mean both the 1970 and 2006 teams. Neither of those teams were top 10 of time material. Also for the record, actually specify next time.
