@barcode0954 my 2011 Gsxr 600 has the best power to weight ratio of ANY bike in its class..most reputable testers will say the 11 Gsxr 600 is best sport bike in its class in the world..r6 is more of a track bike then a street bike only thing I hate bout the r6 is there fairings..so ugly and plain lines
Why bother with an R1 if the R6 is almost as capable. Fact of the matter is R1 is not even a second faster in the 1/4 mile(that like the differance between smoking your tires and just chirping them off the line). The Top speed difference is roughly 10mph. Yeah, the R1 has the roll-on advantage, but an R6 rider can downshift to keep up. All the R6's shortcomings can be fixed with performance upgrades to match an R1. Honestly, most people may never push their bikes to those limits. why pay more?
@diegobaena777 mines in blue as well but its a 2002 luv it thou there is a video on youtube that the previous owner put up to help him sell the bike but it wont let me put the link up to show you the video.
In the 1/8th mile I would take a 600 against anything else in stock form. I have seen them dominate everything else to include mildly modded stretched 1000's. The rider is the deciding factor usually. I'll post up a vid of my R6 battling on the track with a 1098R. It was a blast.
@diegobaena777 your wrong....rider is deciding factor, but 2 equal riders one on a r1 vs another on a R6 , in every aspect the r6 will lose, 165mph to 186mph(restricted) 10.9s-10.6 @ at best for an R6, to 9.998-9.7s... the 08 R1 has the most top end of all Yamaha and the current crankshaft has the most low end and mid range <---something that the R6 LACKS!!..your comment is false when you including equal riders..the real question is why buy a 600 when you can get a 1k for a couple hundred more!
@barcode0954 and i love the R6 come june i will have one, been around sportbikes and the drag strip my whole life, i know sport bikes like i know the back of my hand so i dont want to seem like im putting down the R6, becuase the R6 is the fastest 600, it has the most top end power, best on a road track!!! most race orientated but any 600 compared to its 1k counter parts will get trash when there put on equal grounds
If bikes were automatics anyone could twist a throttle however they are not. you can and will lose to a 600 if you don't have a proper takeoff and shifting. R6 or R1 you cant go wrong.
@CMS9000 It looks to me like about 9 seconds to pass the camera. My stock 05 R6 tops 3rd gear at about 120mph in 9 seconds from a stop... so 90-120 is about right I think
Its not that the R1 rider is not that skilled... the 600cc has a much higher redline @ around 15,500rpm, so at slower speeds (and from a stop) it can keep up with the 1000cc up untill about 70-80mph. My friend has a stock R1 as well and we race all the time. He hates it when I pull away in the starts, but he reels me in pretty quick after 2nd gear lol My R6 runs 11.13 in the quarter
r1's and r6's quarter mile times are bout half a second different from eachother... not much... like said above over hundred miles an hour is when there will be a big difference...
lol the r6 almost had him ive beaten a few r1's with my 09 r6 only beacuse they couldnt launch for shit lol went up against a busa i gave up after 3rd gear he was way to far ahead of me....
@yes333yes But it would look 1000 times better. the r1 does not have near as good styling as the r6. I decided on a hayabusa anyway. looks better than both with the right body work. plus its more comfortable, and a better drag bike
@Ace12550 I admire your individuality, you must be the only person in the world that thinks a Hayabusa looks better than a dog turd, let alone an R6 or R1 !
@schumifan78 Only with custom body work applied does the hayabusa look good. Like a pointed front, and a custom tail. My preference is putting a gsxr1000 tail on the hayabusa and building a custom pointed nose. Makes it look more like a soorts bike, then you are crankin out 1300cc but your bike still looks as sleek as a 1000cc sport bike. The R6 still looks better than any of them though.
@schumifan78 i haven't read the rest of this conversation.. but i think the rear of a `00 hayabusa looks stunning. and also from the side it's really nice. Only the front is a bit odd.
R6 is easier to corner, R1 has much more torque and power but a bit (just a bit) harder to turn. For street use the R1 is better cause you don't have to rev the sh.t out of it to accelerate. The R6's real power awakes only above 10-11ks, the R1' s around 7000. For the track with many corners the R6 is easier for the inexperienced rider, you don't have to be as careful with the throttle out of corners. Quality: Honda = Yamaha, then Suzuki then Kawa, BMW... I dunno.
@Banderius79 you are exactly right about street and track use. I have a friend who has a r1 for the street and r6 on the track and before he got the r6 he rode the r1 on the track but never managed to drag knee.
Where as when he got the r6 out there he did twice in the same session and achived a higher speed in the straights on the r6 due to what you were saying bout the throttle out of corners. Oh by the way I want a 1000rr to experience the superbikes power, his r1 is amazing next to my 600rr
@streetraider08 I've owned both. The R6 doesn't have more acceleration at any end. R6 rider in this vid just got a better launch. Both bikes are weak down low and scream up top.
@haugan3 I think he just thought that the statement 'The R6 has better acceleration' was wrong. The R6 accelerates fast, but no where near a liter bike. From a standing start the R6 can keep with a liter bike mainly cause the liter bike can't put its power down anymore than the 600 can and it the liter bike can't flex it torque muscles. Once they are rolling even at speeds down to 20-30mph, the difference in power and torque is truly apparent. And the new liter bikes weigh almost like 600s now.
@TeenIronMan do you always ask random ass questions not even closely related to the original statement? I'm talking about top end speed and you come up asking about 1/4 mile, where the fuck you been?
@mark28105 no. both bikes are sik. the R1 beat the fireblade this year. but the ZX-10 and the gixxer are still ahead of it over all. i still love my yamaha and want a R1
@MikeHuntsItchey actually the 1/4 mile difference between the two bikes is less than a second so they should be close in a short race. But if it was half mile or 65 to 140 and they were that close, something would have to be wrong with R1 or its rider
@mrjimbeam2009 What? u telling me that yamaha quality is better then BMW and Honda? I´m not saying that Yamaha is bad but that´s just not correct. Either you are a fanboy or have no ideia of what you are talking about.
the r6 is more agile and only a few tenths of a second slower, i have a silver2008 r6 and it will go anywhere you point that sukker, it can just eat corners for breakfast.
lol dude its easy to get the traction the problem is to much traction... thats also why u slip the clutch to keep it in the power band. theres no 600 thats faster than a 1k off the start if they both have good riders.. 1k pull harder at lower rpm then when it does get in the power band its ungodly
@Verge513 lol, i have an 07 R6, moded to hell and back of course, that will out run a hyabusa to about 130mph. as soon as i can a camera, i'll prove it. and no its not the rider.
@Verge513 lol, i have an 07 R6, moded to hell and back of course, that will out run a hyabusa to about 130mph. as soon as i can get a camera, i'll prove it. and no its not the rider.
@lumaks7294 No not at all, but at lower speeds, it's impossible to get all of the R1's power down without spinning the back wheel while you can rev the nuts off the R6. After 100 or 120 km/h the R1's power will slaughter the R6. It's a matter of traction at the start.
depends too much on riders.. i might be bias to the r1 because i have one, but i think the r1 should be further ahead over that distance. good vid tho :)
@juneya04 u would think that but on sport bikes its not about the bike its about the rider, i can smoke people on my r6 (while they have a liter bike or a busa) just the same as i can on any of my r1s (except its alot quicker on my r1s)
@juneya04 i believe thats at the crank..but differ from year models also. my bike suppose to have 180 at crank and after it gets to the rear wheel its anywhere from 145 to 155bhp

TheDrCock 1 year ago
@lynelpimp no, it's r1=600 and r6=1000 lol just kidding dumbass, that's right. what a stupid question.

The r6 did pretty good. It kept up good
sambolia2424 1 year ago
the bike with one light is the r6 and the other is the R1 2 lights. R6 600 cc and R1 100cc , the R1 is a lot faster then the R6.

I understood that, r1 was slower than the r6?
lumaks7294 1 year ago
@lumaks7294 No not at all, but at lower speeds, it's impossible to get all of the R1's power down without spinning the back wheel while you can rev the nuts off the R6. After 100 or 120 km/h the R1's power will slaughter the R6. It's a matter of traction at the start.

r6 won or r1 ? oO...
knipser112 1 year ago
@knipser112 r1 won ofcourse... ;) it would be shame for yamaha that their small bike would beat their No.1 bike ;)
metalghostrider 1 year ago
@metalghostrider oh ok thank you ;D...
I thought the r6 is lighter and it would be able to win :p
knipser112 1 year ago
@knipser112 it's around 20kg lighter not much more or less, and has 60hp less
metalghostrider 1 year ago
@knipser112 with a good rider R1 of course
carmine916 1 year ago
depends too much on riders.. i might be bias to the r1 because i have one, but i think the r1 should be further ahead over that distance. good vid tho :)
both nice bikes,, keep em upright:)

who won?
bonebreaker27 1 year ago
@bonebreaker27
I would hope the R1 considering the HP difference. I think the R1 is around 180 and the R6 is about 130. Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong.
juneya04 1 year ago
@juneya04 wrong. stock 08 R6 105hp maybe stock 08 r1 160hp
ricoco750 1 year ago
@juneya04 u would think that but on sport bikes its not about the bike its about the rider, i can smoke people on my r6 (while they have a liter bike or a busa) just the same as i can on any of my r1s (except its alot quicker on my r1s)
thrasha666 1 year ago
@juneya04 i believe thats at the crank..but differ from year models also. my bike suppose to have 180 at crank and after it gets to the rear wheel its anywhere from 145 to 155bhp
