It was a strong block because it looked like Shaq was about to get up for one of his classic 2-handed slams and Big Ben challenged him right under the rim and told him to get it out of here. This is not the biggest block ever (Tayshawn block on Reggie is, in my opinion) but it is without a doubt, the strongest.

Body to body contact happens on plays like this one. That happens all the time in the NBA. The reason it wasn't a foul was because Ben got the ball and nothing else. The body contact didnt effect the shot but the contact on the ball did. This is one of the greatest blocks ever because of the size difference between the two men. You have not and will never see Shaq out powered like he was on this play. Give Ben Wallace his due... he is the only one to ever challenge Shaq single handly.

i play center as well, and i disagree.Shaq's go to move is when he posts and dropsteps to the baseline for a dunk. when he does this, he makes a lot of contact, as most people do when executing a power drop step, but he's alos stronger than a whole lot of people, so that simple bump of the hip may turn into a lot more, especially in the NBA where players are trained to flop against Shaq

not the greatest block ever. But one of the best blocks I've ever seen. Shaq is 330 pounds, and when jumping up for the dunk the best thing you can hope is that you won't get posterized. But Big Ben bumped him while he jumped up (shouldn't be a foul I think) then forced a jump ball. Incredible. Truly the best block this season
