@dragoniceblack Those are the Pokémon competitive battlers consider too strong to use. They are banned in most unofficial tournaments. Official tournaments have their own list.

i have been playing pokemon for years but never against live trainers. im thinking of starting to battle live trainers but i know nothing about it. is there a website or video that can guide me?

@dragoniceblack Battle with what you know. Don't be intimiated; they are not as tough as they might appear to be.

Smogon provides some tutorials for people just starting out, but they only do one specific type of battling in one type of environment. I'm guessing you want to play Pokémon Battle Revolution--it's completely different. Just give it your best shot, and you'll win some.

do pokemon such as Tyranitar, Garchomp, Dragonite, (pseudo-legendaries) count as uber pokemon, or can they stiill be used in tournaments and stuff like that?

@sjjha In official tourmaents, they are all okay to use. In unofficial ones, you'll have to check the rules. Some will allow Garchomp and Salamence, and some won't.

Also, one question for ya, OH, why use a Bellosom over a Vileplume? Same abilities and moveset, but Vileplume has better Sp. Atk.

Because I wanted to raise a Bellossom, not a Vileplume. Look at it! It's so small and cute! Also, it has better Defense and Special Defense, making it a more suitable supporter like this one.

Vileplume will most definitely come later.

Hmmm. Interesting strategy, using an Abomasnow to pump the Frosslass' evasion on the first turn. Frosslass is GREAT in single (particularly as an anti-dragon, cuz she's fast), but I haven't seen her in double battle before.

Aiyeeeeh! Abomasnow has high defense, so using a physical fire attack wouldn't be a very good idea! And that Occa berry totally screwed everything up. You put up a good fight though and thanks so much for the upload!

Abomasnow doesn't have THAT ridiculously high a Defense, so ordinarily, they can't withstand Fire attacks

I used Blaze Kick just to show why I usually just use Cross Chop against Abomasnow. Many people complained that I should've used Blaze Kick.

I'm actually surprised that there was an Abomasnow. You don't see too many people use one since Abomasnow has the most weaknesses out of every other pokemon (I think). So I don't have much experience in fighting them. I'm sorry for the miscalculated info.

Abomasnow's definitely got a bunch of advantages to make up for that though. If you're stuck in a situation where you can't easily pick on a weakness, then Abomasnow will mess you up bad.

Yeah, I've been considering putting Abomasnow on a team ever since I got my Diamond version. The big problem is how to properly put it into a team. Snow Warning doesn't go well with most Pokémon.

Its understandable why people would complain an ice/grass type in theory would be really weak to a fire type move like that. But then again if cross chop ends up being more effective then you should obviously stick with that. I don't always go for the move thats the most SE myself.

They definitely have usable Special Defense. That's something you wouldn't be able to tell unless you've examined Plusle and Minun before.

Glaceon is a huge threat in double battles when Hail is active. It means a 100% accurate move that hits both opponents coming out of a colossal Sp. Attack stat.

Yes that is true, but then again if the attack hits two pokemon then the damage rate to both pokemon are reduced in half, but since Glaceon has high SP.ATK it was a hard call to come by.

Frosslass is what I consider one of the not so great pokemon.

It, has 80 for every stat and 110 for speed.

Natures could really mess this pokemon up.

It used to be an OU, but because so many people disliked it and thought it was bad, they bumped it down to an UU.

Usually, when that happens, they're bumped down to BL, like what happened with Alakazam. I checked with Smogon, and it's no different with Abomasnow.

According to the explanations on Smogon and Serebii, BL Pokémon have equal potential as OU Pokémon--just that BLs, for one reason or another, are just not as popular. The purpose of this division is to look out for OUs specifically while merely keeping BLs in mind when building teams.

I used Smeargle's Sketch to put Blaze Kick and Cross Chop on Smeargle. Then, I bred Smeargle with a Lucario. Conveniently, the one I got from Riley on Iron Island was not only Female, but Jolly.

Natures raise one stat but lower another. Jolly raises Speed, but lowers Special Attack.

Depends on the Pokémon and the strategy. Nothing in Pokémon is ever as simple as "which one is the best one."

I don't ever see Eevee used seriously (though I have seen Eeveee used before), but even then it depends on your strategy, since there's more than one way to train Eevee.

To figure out what you want, you need to see which stat a Pokémon isn't using (or doesn't use much) and make that the stat that lowers, then see which stat it uses most and make that the stat that raises.

The Occa Berry lowers the power of one Fire-type attack done to its user. Cross Chop would have gone by and OHKOed Abomasnow.
