SWTOR is a failure. Its nothing more than a singleplayer game with a monthly subscription. By the end of the year there will be 1/4 of the servers and many cluster merges.

SWTOR really is the TORtanic. I can't see it being fixed at all anytime soon, soon enough that it might save the playerbase. The core of the game if flawed. It isn't an MMO! It is an instanced, segregated, and totally linear game with zero replay value despite what people say "oh it has lots of stories" my ass. Story, to me, ends at level 10 when you leave your starter planet and set off to the same damn zones, quest hubs, and gather/kill quests you did with ALL your other characters. Trash.
Yeah this game is pretty much over. I loved it until their patches screwed the game over. Its really upsetting because i enjoy the actual game, but this is just... fuck bleh.
I played WoW when it first came out. Most gamers I know did. It had a few problems sure, but overall the consensus was it was an amazing game. The only people who didn't seem to care for it were people who didn't play it and were sick of hearing everyone else talk about it.
I admit all these years later, WoW's feeling kind of stale, but the point is at release WoW trounced it's competition. ToR doesn't even compete. Perhaps that's because it's just a poor copy of a game that's grown stale.
And for those Biodrones sucking Biowares cock, stop it, it's pathetic. They promised, and they did not deliver, IN ANY DEPARTMENT other than Story and even that's lacking. Couldn't even have bug free heroic/nightmare modes for fuck sakes. The lack of polish, content and empty promises is just not acceptable in this day and age, especially with a game where the graphics are no better than WoW's. After having the wonderful game known as DA:2, I was honestly expecting this... just not this bad.
Honestly, WoW came out in 2004... yes it had its bug and problems, but it's 2012. Did we go back in fucking time? I'd expect this type of shit years ago, not in 2012. Especially with how SWTOR is basically almost WoW in space(Still lacking features, so can't be a full on WoW in Space). Having played to 50 on two characters, I'm extremely disappointed. Rift did a much better launch, if Rift could do it, why the fuck couldn't SWTOR? Let the game sink, look forward to other MMO's being released.

I find this interesting. Cuz WoW was the same way for vanilla, world pvp sucked as horde. Plus you don't have to play on a pvp server. Bioware just constantly takes greasy shits all over Republic players. Even the classes are supposed to be mirrored exactly but since day 1 every single Republic version is gimped and every single Imperial version works just fine. Biowares statement is that Republic players just have bad computers.
I would like to add that SWTOR support, as reported, seems to be rather horrid. Regardless, I have really enjoyed the game. Yeah, Bioware made a huge mistake not have a PTR. If that doesn't change, then I will rethink my decision to stick with the game.
If Bioware really did reprimand a player for assisting other players, which is what did happen, then that is disgusting. That, by itself, if verifiable, is enough for me to cancel my subscription today.

@Jmarshall7066 Point 1 to SWTOR, the personal character story is real good. Here's what I fire back at Bioware with: Hea! Why can't I pick a voice for my character? There's so much voice acting in the game they couldn't make even 2 voices for your character to have? Def Jam Fight For New York has 7 voices! That's an EA game from 2004 ffs. This aspect makes me feel like the story is nothing more than a tool to keep you playing longer for no reason. I cold be acting over-critical on this but meh.

i think if your looking for a great story line to play swtor is fun. pvp not so much. so if you think the game is shit cuz pvp sucks then don't play it for pvp. but if you like good story then its a fun game. believe it or not, some people play for story not pvp.
You don't need to play the game at high lvls, or play the game at all, to know that the PVP in SWTOR is terrible. I've watched a great deal of videos and the only video that came close to epic was Klinda's maurader video. The gameplay in SWTOR still sucks and the way that Bioware is acting towards the subscription cancelling with that robot thing convieniantly (sp?) blocking the cancel button is just sad. I agree with Dontain. I'll pass on this game.
love your videos dontain, but you're attempting to compare a MMO with 7 ish years of development to a game that just now has been out for a month. yes there are going to be problems, if i remember wow had very similar problems, if not worse. Also, how long did it take wow to implement any kind of LF group function? And until you get to at least lvl 20 (which you may have and i missed it) i wouldn't pass judgment on the pvp in the game...
@thestelz Actually the way I look at it is WoW inovated the MMO genra with working LF tools that were game changeing and helpful to all players PvE and PvP. Thus modern MMOs should have them installed and ready to go by launch, standard. I get what your saying but i'm not going to give Bioware any breathing room on SWTOR like most people tend to do. It's embarrassing that the game has no T of T in it at launch and THAT feature is far more simple than LFG tools I would imagine.
@Dontain Yeah i can understand why you're upset that the game doesn't have the LFG functions, but i'll be they rushed the game to get it out before christmas, while being a good business decision left a few things unfinished. But even without those things i still have fun playing pvp and pve. You also have to remember that companies have to start generating profit. As such, Bioware and EA had to release the game. Regardless, SWTOR's position, at this point, is than WoW's, when WoW was at the same age. Far better.

Subbed back to it for like a month or two just to see how the graphics would handle on the new upgrades I made to my machine. And even I think SWTOR was a flop. The game had 5+ years of development behind it, a year long beta, not to mention 7-8years worth of reference to go off of from wow and other titles to make sure things went smooth. In all honesty, Bioware should stick to single player RPGs.

Also, for those unaware, the issue with PvP in Ilum was a bug, and it was patched with 1.1.0a the day after the original (bugged) 1.1.0 patch. There does seem to be inbalance between the factions, but it was unrelated to Ilum problems.

@mbates2013 You've got me there. I have indeed NOT played this game at lvl 50 in warzones. I also didn't play Runescape pvp, DFO pvp, etc, etc.TOR's pvp is simple minded. That's kind of a MAJOR point to MOST people who appreciate pvp game play (especialyl those who watch pvp videos). Don't get me wrong, it's not that the game isn't "fun" but, it doesn't deliver what lesser games have.
What I mean to say, is that one of the major flaws in wow and other major MMOs, is the lack of content that you can do every single day, and not get bored with it. In my opinion, SWTOR took that flaw closer to being resolved in major mmos.
I'm having allot of fun with SWTOR, just like millions of other players. Sure it has it's down sides, just like any new games, developed by companies that are new to the genre.
@razamaer yeah the chances of a new game being as good as an old game (like WoW) are slim because the old games have had years of fixing bugs, adding content, adding interface stuff, developing story, etc. while the new games only have what they came up with in the time it took to develop the game. Thats why all the "wow killers" have failed before. If you compare and of the "wow killers" to vanilla wow or Bc wow, the "wow killers" would probably win, but wow has been running for 8 years now.

Oh and they fixed this issue the DAY AFTER the patch came out... just disappointed in the lack of a rollback, but no issue. There is a PTR... there is at least 5-6 heroic missions per planet that require multiple people as well.

Didnt anyone bitch about WoW when it first came out? I mean seriously, I will state one thing and one thing only. For gods sake its just been out for a fucking month, give it time...I highly doubt WoW was like it is now when it first came out. I find this interesting. Cuz WoW was the same way for vanilla, world pvp sucked as horde. Plus you don't have to play on a pvp server. So this is kinda pointless seeing you can totally avoid world pvp with server selection. Swtor is really fun cuz WoWs really boring right now, its funner to play than watch.

I would like to add that SWTOR support, as reported, seems to be rather horrid. Regardless, I have really enjoyed the game. Yeah, Bioware made a huge mistake not have a PTR. If that doesn't change, then I will rethink my decision to stick with the game.
If Bioware really did reprimand a player for assisting other players, which is what did happen, then that is disgusting. That, by itself, if verifiable, is enough for me to cancel my subscription today.

There's so much voice acting in the game they couldn't make even 2 voices for your character to have? Def Jam Fight For New York has 7 voices! That's an EA game from 2004 ffs. This aspect makes me feel like the story is nothing more than a tool to keep you playing longer for no reason. I cold be acting over-critical on this but meh.

You don't need to play the game at high lvls, or play the game at all, to know that the PVP in SWTOR is terrible. I've watched a great deal of videos and the only video that came close to epic was Klinda's maurader video. The gameplay in SWTOR still sucks and the way that Bioware is acting towards the subscription cancelling with that robot thing convieniantly (sp?) blocking the cancel button is just sad. I agree with Dontain. I'll pass on this game.

love your videos dontain, but you're attempting to compare a MMO with 7 ish years of development to a game that just now has been out for a month. yes there are going to be problems, if i remember wow had very similar problems, if not worse. Also, how long did it take wow to implement any kind of LF group function? And until you get to at least lvl 20 (which you may have and i missed it) i wouldn't pass judgment on the pvp in the game...

@thestelz Actually the way I look at it is WoW inovated the MMO genra with working LF tools that were game changeing and helpful to all players PvE and PvP. Thus modern MMOs should have them installed and ready to go by launch, standard. I get what your saying but i'm not going to give Bioware any breathing room on SWTOR like most people tend to do. It's embarrassing that the game has no T of T in it at launch and THAT feature is far more simple than LFG tools I would imagine.

@Dontain Yeah i can understand why you're upset that the game doesn't have the LFG functions, but i'll be they rushed the game to get it out before christmas, while being a good business decision left a few things unfinished. But even without those things i still have fun playing pvp and pve. IMO you are being very critical of the game, which you have every right to, but I think the game is better than what you have made it out to be in the last two videos of you tearing it apart lol. @Dontain I believe you forget about the sue-happy asshole lawyers that work at these large companies. It would take Activision/Blizzard as long as it would take to run a lawsuit to the nearest court to have a LFG removed from a game.
You also have to remember that companies have to start generating profit. As such, Bioware and EA had to release the game. Regardless, SWTOR's position, at this point, is than WoW's, when WoW was at the same age. Far better.
So, yes, improvements exists.

Gotta love the people spouting this. I don't even play wow anymore really. Subbed back to it for like a month or two just to see how the graphics would handle on the new upgrades I made to my machine. And even I think SWTOR was a flop. The game had 5+ years of development behind it, a year long beta, not to mention 7-8years worth of reference to go off of from wow and other titles to make sure things went smooth. In all honesty, Bioware should stick to single player RPGs.

Also, for those unaware, the issue with PvP in Ilum was a bug, and it was patched with 1.1.0a the day after the original (bugged) 1.1.0 patch. There does seem to be inbalance between the factions, but it was unrelated to Ilum problems.

That's kind of a MAJOR point to MOST people who appreciate pvp game play (especialyl those who watch pvp videos). What I mean to say, is that one of the major flaws in wow and other major MMOs, is the lack of content that you can do every single day, and not get bored with it. In my opinion, SWTOR took that flaw closer to being resolved in major mmos.
I'm having allot of fun with SWTOR, just like millions of other players. Sure it has it's down sides, just like any new games, developed by companies that are new to the genre.

@razamaer yeah the chances of a new game being as good as an old game (like WoW) are slim because the old games have had years of fixing bugs, adding content, adding interface stuff, developing story, etc. while the new games only have what they came up with in the time it took to develop the game. Thats why all the "wow killers" have failed before. If you compare and of the "wow killers" to vanilla wow or Bc wow, the "wow killers" would probably win, but wow has been running for 8 years now.

Oh and they fixed this issue the DAY AFTER the patch came out... just disappointed in the lack of a rollback, but no issue. There is a PTR... there is at least 5-6 heroic missions per planet that require multiple people as well.

You DO need to group for questing like 5 times per planet ( Heroic + 2 and + 4 quests ).

I agree, some things were rushed (or allot, lol).
I consulted GMS many times ( about 7 times) through tickets, and got to Live chat with them twice. In my opinion, the support is as good as blizzard's.
