very very correct movement ! but sooo very poor chang quan spirit and lively movement ... :-) dont you agree ? compare with my chinese vids (;-)) less correct those but much more appealing wushu :-) no critiscism we need these tapes ! thnx for posting ! greetz g
still they wickedly kill the spirit of wushu those evil chinese :-)(the governement ? ) putting all accent on acrobatics and sheer technical aspects ! we do not want to become circus tigers ! never forget that ;-
batmanrobin is right, jiang ban jun is one of the best wushu performers in his time (90s), he is doing it slowly on purpose in this video
try looking up some of his other video's and you will see the wushu spirit of him
btw i have some mixed opinions about the goverment killing the wushu spirit, it has some positive and negative effects on wushu, positive: wushu is more famous and populair now than ever
negative: indeed it is killing the traditional wushu's spirit, way of thinking, implication
personally i think wushu should really split into traditional and contemporary with traditional being chi gong, traditional taiji, all the applicable forms etc
and contemporary being acrobatic stuff and modern taolu's for competition purpose and of course sanshou
hi a little comment more, :-) i have no problem with acrobatic things (except for my age and physical limitations :-))) but it should serve a purpose ;-) if it is only to look good and has no martial meaning or intent then it does not belong in any martial art (think about that!) so if a tiger is tamed to do handstands it is no longer a real tiger when it does the handstands (but if it breaks lose of that shit ,,,,
it could refind its own nature ;-) i hope this makes my point clear : modernist are losing sight of their true nature doing thousands of 720 spins ans afterwards smoking cigarettes to pull them out of boredom,,,,, (a true story)
as i get more and more older, modern wushu will get less suited for me as well so i will also change accordingly, growing more interest in traditional wushu and internal stuff everyday :)
btw jij bent belgische toch?

yeah i know about the smoking part and i find that stupid too, but u can't really blame them if 95% of the male population smokes.....
also, i don't see modern wushu as martial art anymore
i see as a sport, just like soccer or swimming and i think the chinese goverment changed wushu to it's modern ways also to make it look like a sport.
wushu as a sport is more populair, coler to watch and easier to practise

though traditional wushu is much deeper in meaning and will take much longer to digest and comprehend
it is better in the long haul, but people just don't wanna practise intensely for 5-10 years before they see some serious results...
the age is different so i believe we also have to change wushu accordingly, just some of my thoughts, hope u try to see it from my view also
i'm not saying that traditional wushu is worse,i just view them as 2 different things now
