  • Great book. I do agree, you do need materials. But, i bet there is a lumber store somewhere that you could get wood.

  • Yeah, I just have all this scrap wood lying around and can build a treehouse in 5 minutes.

  • @SBAnimaniacs Can I have some of it? My book just taught me how to build a giant catapult. I used up all of my wood on the Trojan horse!

  • @noorsaar Sarcasm! :)

  • So stereotypical.

  • Milf?

  • AWSOME BOOK I have had it for as long as it existed NEVER GOT BORED! :)

  • This Book Rocks! My son and I are working through it cover to cover. It's an education within itself. Grammer lessons, history, geography, Science, and Bushcraft. FANTASTIC!!!!!

  • @regondi BAHAHAHAHA!!! "Grammer lessons" :D

  • @zzsmartzz :D

  • love that book

  • this is sort of a cheesy video, but it's a great book.

  • i have the pocket szed one

  • is it good?

  • its ok like the bow and arrow and stuff

  • I bought this book and "Backyard Ballistics" and put them away for my nephew for when he gets older. Great book

  • soccer is a pansy sport, (rugby UNION!!!!!!!)

  • @spiny0100 soccer is a man's sport!

  • When I was a kid, we didn't need a book to do all that stuff. What a society of pussies we're turning into.

  • lool that's true.

  • Would you rather the kid not know how to do these things at all or look at a well written and crafted book, so that they can know how? Shut your face!

  • coming from the jerk who failingly attempts to play neil young, posts it on youtube, and gets maybe 10 views. yep. WE'RE the pussies

  • The fact that you were so strapped for ammunition that you were forced to make a personal attack is pretty pathetic. You look like you're twelve. At least my videos contribute to society and don't waste everyone's time with stupidity.

  • best book ever !! its so cool :D

  • i have the book but i cant find catapolts wat pge is tht?

  • omg its a book you fool look harder !!!!

  • they have illustrations of them on page 210 in the American edition

  • its realy a great book and everything in it actualy works unlike other books

  • does anyone know what song is in this?

  • OK< this looks really great. While we only have a 3 month old girl, I still intend on picking it up:-)

  • yeah, i reccomend getting it,

i have it from a few years ago (im 15 now)

i have the dangerous book for boys and the pocket version,

  • I just love the books! I need two more books and then I've completed the dangerous book for boys collection. I need the pocket dangerous book for boys things to do and the dangerous book for boys yearbook.

  • its a cool book

  • im a girl and I love this book

  • haha i love it

  • great book, I loved it.

  • it's on the computer to find out these things!!!

  • i spend atleast 3hour infront of ze computer perday.

  • i think the music didn't suit the book. It's not "dangerous," per se, i just think it's a really good book for boys who don't know how to have fun away from a screen (The foreword of the book was really good). this is pretty funny though.

  • Wow! This looks great! My boys would love this book and I am planning on getting it soon.

  • i got this book, and im "one of those" (by that i mean i play at least 1 hour of PC every day) and this book possibly just saved the rest of my childhood!! this book really tells you what it means to be a child, and with the number of games and contraptions in this book, you NEVER get bored!

    PS: stop the silly arguing!

  • i have this awesome book!

and for all those people who argue about it:

its a book made to get boys to stop play video games all their childhood and get outside and KICK SOME ASS!!!! where else are you gonna find a book that teaches you how to make a pocket light and make a go-cart at the same time!

  • Can someone please help make the bull bull dart. I still can't do it!

  • i have the pocket one its cool

  • I plan on buying this book for my son, nephews, AND my niece. I looked into the "girl's" version, "The Daring Book for Girls" and thought it was way too watered down. As a woman, I feel that a well rounded girl can be equally comfortable being a princess or a pirate as the mood strikes. The Dangerous book seems like a lot more fun!

  • i have this book its sooo cool...i havent learned how to make a paper airplane until recently and i am almost 20 yrs old!

  • i have this...

  • i ahve this book lol

  • Now this looks like a cool book. Luckily i grew up in the 80s and spent my time exclusively in the streets and fields, but over 20 years in should really get off my ass and get back to that good stuff, the real stuff. Enough YouTube for now, ENOUGH i say! ;)

  • can someone tell me what the code for this book is......this boy in meh class wrote a note 2 me in code........

  • and also to joleneo, by implying that you are engage in any form of feminism, you yourself are being very sexist because never in my life have i heard of a male activist and i'm sure that if you met him you would find him to be "repulsively" sexist. why is it that just because women back in the day didnt have the same rights as men doesnt imply that you have the right to flaunt around as a feminist who complains anytime someone shares a belief that is slightly different from you own. get a life.

  • i've got both books, they both have very nifty projects and games in them....to everyone who had very heated arguements about: you're being rediculous, if you are going to argue about this then you might as well try to report any parent who buys their son a toy car or their daughter a barbie to child services for try to force a certain few on they're child or call the school systems politically not correct for having male and female bathrooms. thank u.

  • I just got that book today! So far its great!

  • I thought it was well good. i got this book for my bd and its great. its not sexist cus theres a girls one aswell. and its not felsulls fault ether. if youve got a problem write to the authors!

  • To everyone:

Don't write to OR about me anymore. I am done with all the chauvinists as well as the retards who don't even understand the discussion, yet feel compelled to "contribute" to it. Your comments are not welcome, and I do not wish to hear from you, or see my name/screenname/any allusion to me on here, as I am opting out of this [completely retarded] discussion. Go live your cute little chauvinistic lives and beat your wives. I'm done.

  • lol, very funny. The worlds source of initial conflict is that people are not "equal" and that, in fact , every single person is genetically different. A stereotype is nothing more then a "average".

Nice cop-out by the way . How very 2000-ish , start a fight and run. Way to go sweetie.

  • so i'm female and i've been reading the past comments and i understand what you're saying about it being sexist and giving the wrong idea but its their PARENTS responsibility to teach them that they dont have to follow these stereotypes, and their parents are under no obligation to buy the book

and once they reach a certain age, they know that even though it says "for boys" or "for girls" they can still read the one for the opposite sex

  • i also wanted to say that calling people chauvinists and wife beaters is ridiculously rude and its a really serious accusation. no wonder no one is respecting your opinions. and you may say that you werent serious but that's almost worse, by joking about it it makes it seem more okay. like it can be taken as a joke. and arent you supposed to be agaisnt sexism? well, husbands can be abused too. its not just wives.

  • They forgot to include a chapter on nutria flensing.

  • I got this book for Christmas! it's awesome!

  • i have a random opinion.

Maybe because this has the word "boys" on the cover is maybe because boys are too violent nowadays and lazy and to attract them to this book, they stick the word on there. I hope they're not trying to be sexist, but are trying to get younger males to get off their butts and do something. I mean, how many kids are always watching T.V, Snacking, and not doing anything all day? Alot! So, at least putting the book out there, will generate an idea to younger males.

  • I have to also add this since my comment's big :

I'm sorry if i make you angry by typing this, but at least, i want to look at the postitive side to this. I hope i don't get flamed... V.V

  • I saw this book in my local meijer store, big red cover, and it made me stop, but i think the word that caught me was "Dangerous"... right next to it was a green book the same style but "girls" was big in the middle. so the only sexist thing was your remark... this looks like a good parent book, something to be read with a child... not just thrown at them to distract. flamer...

  • You do all realize joleneo is just a troll and is probably a guy... Just thought I would point that out...

  • No, actually I am a woman with an opinion. Gee, fancy that! We ARE allowed to have opinions right?

    Fuckhead.

  • you're all arguing about a small section of the book that tells you how to go for girls ? lol

  • Wow! This looks great! My boys would love this book and I am planning on getting it soon.

Ftr: you can find flint at a sporting goods store... or at Walmart in the sporting goods section. :)

  • where can i find flint???????????????

  • everyone please ignore Joleneo, it's a great book, forget what ever the hell she says.

  • I never said it couldn't be a great book. I am arguing the fact that they made it specifically for BOYS, excluding not only the girls, but also the boys who like to partake in other activities.

Not to mention, it paints a picture of girls being helpless and pathetic. Great lesson to teach boys.

  • IT DOES NOT! I'll have you know I read this book, and I STILL fear my big sister, and the friggin clique that girls have at my school XD

  • What's that? I can't hear you. Your vaginal secretions of estrogen are a deafening roar in comparison to anything you will say; ever.

  • Aww, how cute.. Another little chauvinist! Don't you just want to pinch his wittow cheeks?

  • LEMME PUT IT THIS WAY, AND LISTEN DAMN STRAIGHT GOOD - IT'S A FREE FKING COUNTRY AND THEY CAN NAME THE FKING BOOK WHATEVERTHEFUCK THEY WANT! DO YOU GET IT NOW?!

*ps* sorry for using harsh language, it just seems to be the only way to get the fking point across to her.

  • Hey guess what- it's a "free fking country" and I have every right to voice my opinion on how sexist it is (and harmful to BOTH sexes) to make a book about this stuff and say its only for boys!

You've completely missed the point on everything I've said so just shut the f*&%$ up already, you don't know what you're talking about. At all.

  • You do realize that about up till the 1920's that women were considered lesser beings right?! AND NOW HERE YOU ARE, COMPLAINGING ABOUT A BOOK?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?! Seriously, you're so pathetic it makes me want either scream/cry or use a string of bad words that would prolly get me fking arrested. You do realize that you were the one who LOOKED UP the book, YOU didn't HAVE to navigate to this page, YOU chose to. Just keep your nose in your own shit, got that?

  • And because of books like this (and dicks like YOU) women are STILL being treated like lesser beings.

  • Yeah, listening to you, I really don't wonder why. Personally, I don't hate girls, Im just saying, you could just leave any time, and I wouldn't have to be bothered and neither would you. When YOU argue points, it's not gonna do anything, they can't make the book illegal across the globe.

    Face it - it's pointless.

And also, I haven't been on this vid for a year, but you had to drag me back.

  • Um, okay? So you're pissed that I have an opinion... how gentlemanly of you :)

When did I ever say my "goal" was to have the book banned across the globe? Don't put words in my mouth, esp. when you can't even wrap you little mind around what I've said thus far.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH KIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL MEEEE

LOOK, YOUR ARGUING WITH A FRIGGIN 12 year old, SO GET YOUR EFFIN HEAD AROUND IT! IM NOT GOING TO STOP ARGUIN!

  • women will continue to be treated like lesser beings as long as the watch Oprah, and hit from the "girls tees". Equal? Sure doesn't seem like it. Not while they continue to demand men compete with 1 arm, 1 leg, and their balls cut off. Yea. That ALMOST makes women equal. 'cept their hysteric over emotionality...

  • That didn't even make sense. Besides, no one wants to hear from you, wife beater.

  • It doesn't make sense to you because you are not a male. Every other man reading this knows perfectly well what I am pointing out. Women in the US (and other westernized countries) are the most pampered and entitled animals on the planet. You want equal? Try going in to combat some time. Less than 1% of all war fatalities are women.

  • 1huskerd, I am a male and I must say I disagree with you strongly. Of course there are biological differences between males and females, but because our environment has changed so drastically from that of our ancestors, most of these differences are irrelevant. Also, I wish there were no male or female combat fatalities.

  • I agree "jo". I am a woman and have this book for my boys. What is wrong with little boys reading a book that teaches them how to how to play stickball? You are ridiculous. Fucking Feminists. I hate them.

  • You don't even know what feminism is. And you're a WOMAN. WTF?! Besides, you've completely missed the point in this whole discussion, which doesn't surprise me since you aren't smart enough to learn what feminism is about..

  • There is no question concerning this book's legality, the question is whether or not it is moral.

  • xchn1, your misogynistic insult is quite disappointing. I assume you are using distasteful ad hominem attacks because you no longer have any good arguments to support your position.

  • Thank you, cucumberchampion. It's good to see another intelligent and fair person on here!

  • I dont mean to be racist but it's kinda funny how the dad's white and the kid looks almost chinese. Again, really don't mean to be racist, just pointing it out.

  • well, that observation is racist.

what was the purpose of you pointing it out?

perhaps, just perhaps, it is an indicator that the father had an attraction for women of color, and/or a repulsion to white middle class women. Just a possibility that he'd grown sick of the entitlement mentality of the typical white middle class american wench with an overblown sense of self importance.

  • Ok... Huh? Im just saying... Lol...

  • Yeah, and that's not racist...

  • Um, I'm a girl and I did all that stuff when I was a kid. I think this book is ridiculously sexist, especially since it advises boys to carry a handkerchief to "offer to a girl when she cries" and to help girls without making them feel stupid.

Yeah, we girls are just too dumb and/or prissy to partake in these activities or even do things on our own without boys' help! Great lesson, there.

  • wow... get over yourself man.

    Lemme put it these way:

How would you feel if the boy taunted you when you needed help?

    You prolly wouldn't like it

What if he courteously helped without making himself sound like a smartass? You'd prolly like that ALOT better.

Dude, trust me, lots of people woulda done all the crap in that book. Good god woman, get over yourself.

  • Wow, way to COMPLETELY miss the point on that one, hun...

Don't argue when you can't even read to begin with.

  • Wow... I sorta doubt that you are a girl... or a grown up for that matter...

  • And I sorta doubt that you respect women... or that you can even read for that matter...

  • and i bet there's a small section where they talk about how to act infront of boys...

  • Um... so are YOU!!!

  • I have this book, and it is great! You can learn and make so much stuff just from one book. 5 starz

  • I saw this book at walmart today, I also saw the daring book for girls.

  • So going on my wishlist! Too cute!

  • THIS IS SO AWSOME! It is going on my wishlist RIGHT NOW!

  • brill video

  • THE SAD thing is this question? where all those FATHERS anyway?? hmmmmmmm

  • i know some other stuff too but maybe not for kids but we were.

  • good old fashion 50ty s i loved it,as a boy

  • thank god for the authors.

  • where can you by flint in australia

  • An Austrlian flint store would be my guess.

  • B'dum tsh!

  • lol

  • what type of string for the bow and arrow

  • Dear everyone, see also:

    The Daring Book For Girls.

  • OH who cares its for anyone. O_o Would it be childish for a 15 year old to get one??

  • Wow!! who would have know the celabration of being a boy would cause so much emotion... sounds like some folks out there have some "gender" problems. All my boys will get a copy.. and if my daughters want to sneak a peek I am sure they will be allowed. Get OVER yourselves people!! As a woman I am embarrased over the women complaining about this... there IS a difference between boys and girls!! WHO CARES celebrate it!!

  • Although I liked the book and there is stuff in it you won't find elsewhere, I was rather (happily) surprised to discover that my old Boy Scout Handbook not only covers a lot of similar material, but much more.

  • I bought this book for a 10 year old and he wants to make the battery but we can't find blotting paper in a city of 500,000.

  • gimme a break. its written for boys because our feminist culture is trying to PREVENT boys from being boys. this book reinforces the excitement of building bows and arrows, catapults, and other assorted entertainments that girls NEVER consider doing on their own.

Boys excel at math because they like balls and arrows and airplanes (things that go thru the air). Spatial calculations!

  • The feminist movement has emasculated boys to the point where we are not allowed to make noise, run , jump, and just be "boys". We are told we have ADD and ADHD and given drugs to pacify us, instead of allowing us to be the rambunctious, aggressive, loving, boys we are meant to be. I think any book that gives permission for boys to be boys is good. I'm sorry they felt the need to call it "Dangerous" instead of "Necessary".

  • WRONG.

  • yes, women always feel they have to correct men if they don't think like they do.

  • thats your opinion.

  • You're blaming the feminist movement when you don't even know what it means. Therefore, you are WRONG in your original "statement."

    God, you're stupid.

  • The War Against Boys: How Misguided Feminism Is Harming Our Young Men by Christina Hoff Sommers

She asserts that the feminist movement has advocated successfully for the educational system to attempt to restructure the natural development of boys

and has fostered an educational agenda that includes "resocializing boys in the direction of femininity."

  • Oh my god! There's a BOOK saying that now? Then it MUST be true!

Just like the holocaust was a hoax, right?

  • Boys-Girls-blah-blah-> What if thats written for boys, cause the author thinks girls are clever enough to figure out all that stuff without a book? Anyhow. I like it.

  • If you liked this video, check out the "Father Knows Less" video - "One Dad's Quest to Answer His Son's Most Baffling Questions"

  • AUGIE!!!! its aminah from 3rd grade!! wow

  • I forgot to mention in my last posting the next book I'm writing is titled, "Travel Fun For Caucasions." It shouldn't be a problem, right? Since "everyone" can enjoy the book and its contents?

  • No but it would be okay to write a book and call it "Travel tips for the Hispanic" Right???

  • Yeah. I'm really upset that I can't go and work out at Curves.

A tip: Even though the title says "for boys," I'm pretty sure you can buy it and read it to pretty much anyone.

  • Oh please, the only reason places like Curves exist is so women can work out in peace without men trying to hit on them or take a peek into the women's locker room. If most men could act mature, we would be able to work out together.

    lol

  • the only reason places like Curves exist is so women can hide their cottage cheese ass. if most women were mature, they wouldn't be so obsessed with their looks.

  • Wow. Just... wow.

  • Come on JO!! look into the real reason Curves exists!! It is okay with you to have female only things... just no male only things. That is a double standard, last I looked!!

  • This is a pretty great book. Lots of practical and fun infromation.

  • i have the book it isn't the best book in the world though but you can buy the book at costco thats where i bought mine there was like 80 copies at costco!

  • i think this will be one of the few books i would actually like to buy. Sounds like fantastic fun!

  • Looks like a cool book.

  • Very cool trailer, book seems interesting.

  • Yeah woman, cook eggs while I quit work and go play outside. Cool book!

  • Ok, first of all, I would just like to point out, It isn't sexist, I mean, Do you really think that if I went and asked a girl if she wanted to make a bow and arrow that she would want to? Nah, but anyways, girls can buy this book, there's lotsa good stuff in it. I bought the book 2 days ago and I love it... sadly Im on vacation witout my dad, soz I cant really make a bow atm...

  • Wrong. I loved doing stuff like that when I was a little girl. And I didn't wear pink frilly dresses either, fancy that!

  • cute video

  • Guys get a book on how to have fun and enjoy life, and girls get books on how to manipulate said guys. Who's getting the short end of the stick here? Seriously, though, have you been to a book store and seen how many "how to be a bitch" and "how to be a girl and get what you want" manuals are out there?
