  • i remember when i first time saw this video, i tried this move couple of times couse its awesome....totally failed :/

  • do u people realize that he just pulled a sick ninja move

  • yo ya man is mad tall

  • at least he isn't wearing gloves ;)

  • jumping spider

  • Man that guy was built for climbing! Look at the length of his arms!

  • He didn't need to take off his shirt to achieve that? LOL, wow!

  • two words: ape index.

  • i thought the extra step on the hold was genious.

  • Its an awesome dyno, but the double step ruins it for me. Don't get me wrong, it looked fantastic, but you just can't put it in the same category as what Michi Geissler managed to do--an unofficial 2.8m dyno with a full body extension--he caught that dyno from BEHIND! Youtube it, its one of the most amazing dyno's I've ever seen.

  • @naval8viator its actually not as amazing as this one. due to him jumping to a hold behind him, he is able to use full leg power from both legs without worrying about staying close to the wall. a very impressive move i could never duplicate, but this man took much more technical skill an strength to jump .025 meters away from the same distance as Geissler, and he could only use a fraction of the power to cover the distance because he had to stay within reach of the wall. Respect to both tho!

  • He's about 10ft tall, make a new category.

  • He's about 10ft tall.

  • Acually the double step which he did is something that many people do and is totally accepted so yeah

  • SO FUCKING TITE

  • i say you should make this a new category, say rock running :) it'll catch on

  • Is he allowed to jump off the grip? I can see that move getting out of hand, say, if you placed an extra rock one meter out you could dyno to it and jump off it to go even beyond 4 meters...

It's impressive, but for the world record I think it should be disqualified. Make it a new category though!

  • fuck rulez, its about how far you can get, dont blame him because he is creative and not oldfashioned

  • where's the altair costume?

  • I reckon I could beat that... Seriously

  • Great dynamic move, Peter! Strength, agility, explosiveness, accuracy of hand-eye coordination, and inventiveness. Congratulations.

  • I could give a turd if its the WR or not, that move is absolutely ridiculous......let me see one of these fools yelling "cheater' post a video response of them doing anything NEARLY this hard..........( and yes, you can even use the handhold)........people always trying to bring others down man. I wish I could dyno like this dude.

  • 1Duuuuuudeeeeee

  • To all the people suggesting that this is unimpressive because he kicked off the handholds, clearly you have no idea how much coordination this takes, and how hard it is to actually do when you're going this far, technically it's much more harder, and much more impressive all around than a straight forward dyno.

Obviously there have to be rules for a world record so everyone's on the same page, so this isn't allowed, but to suggest that it's shit in it's own right is just retarded.

  • oh really? much more harder?

    yeah I agree.

  • he's also like 6ft 20 inches.

  • a 30 cm dyno is the world record, dont think so!

  • he could have done that static. that was shit

  • i was in a dyno comp last weekend and the rules said no feet on the handholds, i immediately thought of this video haha

  • ok hopefully this will calm down the flame war a bit... I did some research and the world record comittee has specific rules in place for this technique... yes what he did was impressive but the rules clearly state that the feet can at no time touch the hand holds or the dyno will not count for the WR. (when all was said and done he was denied the record)

  • @kungfuninja314 ouch!!

  • haha

  • It looks more like a 'clamber' than an out and out dyno from where i'm sitting. Fair one for the combination and effort though as its more than I could do!

  • all you saying he cheated, he didnt, if you were on real rock doing that move, there'd be nothing to stop you from using your foot where your hands just were.

also the dyno was 2.775 meters cause its measured from the left hand's hold to the hold your jumping to

  • i'd say that was a dyno of about 6 inches.

  • Look that move is fucking hard if any of you can do it post it. I know there is a height difference, but im talking that dino and put your foot up where your hands were dealio.

  • that was a bit of a cheat, hes past 6ft in height, and his foot puched off the hand hold to get him further??? surly that aint right?

  • You are def allowed to do that. If they didn't want him to use it they would not have put it there. There is nothing saying how he has to the hold he could bite one if he thought it would help.

  • ok, i am sorry, i am not sure on these things, i was not qeustioning his actions, just quizing!! :)

  • i lol at all you saying he cheated, it was a dynamic move, it was adyno. it doesnt matter if he used the start hold, a dyno is a dyno. its like if you bump and run instead of put in golfing, you arent cheating, simply using a different technique

  • that doesnt count! but yeah iv been working on my dynos im about 5'11" and my personal record is about 8 feet

  • upload a video of you doing an 8 foot dyno then, also you should enter these comps, make some money... unless your talking crap...

  • lol he cheated

  • but he cheated?????!!!!!

  • used a foot on the hand hold !

  • compound dyno's shouldn't count for a world record...

    but i'm still pretty impressed...

  • really he steeped off the top rock!!

  • He jumped no more than 5 inches if you look close...

not even a dyno if you ask me, and befor you say it, yes i could do that too if the height/distence ratio was the same.

  • amazing move! kudos!

  • double dyno.

  • Jeez you freaks! Stop arguing whether he cheated or not. Dyno is short for dynamic move as opposed to static. It is _very_ clearly not a static move, no matter if he steps on the starting hand hold or not, even the greatest moron shouting "cheater" can grasp this i guess. I suggest you just try it yourself...

  • he was moving kind of slow and static like the second time... =P

  • @Ripp0r this move could have been done static by this man

  • @Ripp0r what the hell the definition has to do?? he did a gay method, and this should not be considered as the world record.. anyway, it's way too short. wait to see the record i will set

  • @SirMarcGermani you'll never set a record. learn what you're talking about before you post hateful comments to others, especially when your comments are clearly wrong and will make you look ignorant before the entire youtube community.

  • @ilovechlourine you are bad in dynos yourself that's why you talk like that. i trust myself that i can do what i said i will. and this dyno is illegal in other competitions...when he steps on that hold he gains more distance... that's cheating. he suck at dynos he's just tall. with just enough power to beat the others. but that record is far away from human limits

  • @ilovechlourine so what do you mean? that the other guys could not do that technique?!! the only difference is that he trained that way. and it is very clear that it's in no way a clear measurement of performance when he do that. and whoever takes it as normal, is just a loser who wants advantage instead of training more. or to cover his weak abilities. now if the rules of the competition allows that, fine, then other competitors will start training that way. end of discussion. i won't come back

  • @Ripp0r while this is true, you can't compare apples to oranges when talking about world records.

  • @Ripp0r By the logic of the top two comments, an entire speed climb would be a dyno. In general, the term dyno is used for a move made by jumping from one position to another without intermediate steps, such as putting your feet on the handholds.

  • @vaarsuviusprime um no. its used for a move made by jumping from one position to another instead of statically moving to it. nothing in its definition describes or bans the use of stepping on a handhold. the move he did here CLEARLY could not be accomplished static without falling, making it a legitimate dyno, and CLEARLY he "jumped" off the hand hold, also making it a dyno based off of the correct definition of a dyno.

  • good job man... i wouldn'y have bin able to get my foot on that starting hold. Pretty sick........

  • the new record iz 2.8 m

  • foot can use start hold !?

  • Yep, I do.

Do you realize that for a world record you need to follow certain rules.

What would the world be without rules :-)

  • It's not a Dyno.

He just lost his world record to Nicky de Leeuw (2.80M). Just seconds after the he contest (where he dynod' 2.775M) he did the same (he jumped 2.80 meter with this technique), and explained himself that this was not a Dyno.

    Still a great jump though

  • you do realize dyno is just a short term for a dynamic move...

  • @CDPuffer I agree, it also sounds a lot better than Dyna..

  • @CDPuffer man it was dynamic

  • Completely fair. Its rock climbing: you can use your hands and your feet.

  • He is as tall as the gap is long.

  • Wow, freaking awesome!

  • its pretty obvious that he stepped off the hand

if that was a rule he would have been called

the only unfair thing about this is that hes freaking like 7 feet tall

  • if he was 7 feet tall then how come the guy who held is hand up was almost a head taller then him

  • shenrahk,

first off, i was just saying that hes really tall

and second, whose saying the guy holding his hand up isnt really tall as well?

  • one guy on the mat, one guy not on the mat.

  • Because he's standing on a crash mat?

  • i don't see how he cheated, if he can chuck a foot on the hand hold then he might aswel do it, I RECKON HIS HEIGHT IS CHEATING lol, he's tall as, he can almost reach both holds should go for 3.5m

  • He planted his foot on the handhold. That was unbelievable.

  • i can do that i just dont want to

  • i can do a dyno like that too

  • he didnt dyno! he steped his foot off the rock his hands were on, i cuda done that

  • that MOFO cheated!!!

  • guys it's spelled "allowed" not aloud =P

  • Question: is he allowed to push off with his foot at 0:10?

Is that the rule that everyone thought he broke?? If not, good idea to get one last "omph"

  • sweet no matter wat but i think he cheated no matter wat haha

  • Silly eurotrash

  • eurotrash? aufs maul oder was?

  • positive vibration

    eurotrash is an oxymoron

  • tbf that was more impressive technically than just a normal dyno move in my oppinion :D

  • lmao, he knows he cheated to :p if that was aloud, the record would be a lot higher than what, 2.70m ish. but it would be interesting to see :)

  • These are some of the official world record rules for dynos

    1) Both starting handholds must be used with the left hand on the left handhold and the right hand on the right handhold. No crossed hands will be allowed.

    2) Any configuration of footholds can be used but feet must not touch the starting handholds.

    3) An attempt is successful when the competitor hangs the target hold in control with both hands.

    He clearly broke rule 2

  • true bro.

that's not official but u gotta admit that that's pretty badass.

  • yep, i'm with you on that one

  • who gives a shit about rules,, climbing is to go have fun,,

  • I agree entirely, but what I am saying is that this is not a world record however good it was.

  • Holy crap, that's sly as.

  • He definitely broke the rule. I was at the venue were they hold this competition but sadly I missed this. I can't believe he cheated and it was aloud.

  • that's a great idea, there's a climb I need to try that on. I think the rules should be changed. That is clearly a dyno, just a clever one.

  • its not cheating its just clever thinking!! god use your head....or foot in this matter!! :P

    lol

  • good technique and all, from a purely "get up the wall" perspective, but it's not a dyno. sorry champ, but you can't double tap and still call it a dyno.

  • I gotta say he cheated. Isn't dyno a single leap? He was running up the wall.

  • his foot jumped like 1 inch

  • is tht not cheating by where he is putting his foot? still very nicely done

  • I'm not %100 sure of the rules on dyno climbing, but he did bridge the gap, and he did it with a very impressive technique.
