  • when crysis came out it was almost impossible to play on most pcs. right now its easy even on notebooks lool

  • Heading to Oregon State in a month, after weeks of researching laptops, this looks like the one :)

  • @Tenac1ous Glad to hear it dude

  • @Tenac1ous Hey, I'm getting this same laptop with the i5-2410M processor and the same graphics card. Should I save $35 and get the 4GB RAM version, or do the extra 2GB of RAM make a difference? Most games I want to play only require 2-4 GB, so is all 6GB worth it?

  • @Drumtariano dude, if you wana play games you will want to get the 6gb of ram. trust me

  • How's batter life (without gaming?) I plan on getting this same laptop with same specs for school. Only gaming I would do is back in my room where i have it plugged in.

  • @kevaughanshiu Im doing the same thing. It seems that if u have it on the best settings for battery life u can get up to 4 hours. usually its around 3 and a half hours though

  • @itsadurg sounds just nuff to go through my longest classes (3 hours) :P thanks

  • I have a question regarding this laptop. I'm considering purchasing it in the following few months for school and I intend to some gaming on it. Given the performance of this game, I think it should hold well on something like Starcraft II and Diablo III. What Intel processor would you recommend? I noticed you use the i7 but you said the i5 should do just fine to. The 2.5 GHZ seems to be well adjusted, do you think it would hold its own like the i7?

  • @KingOnigami Well as far as this laptop is concerned, the Graphics card is the bottle neck so the i5 will do just fine, i got the i7 for non gaming related reasons. So yes the i5 will do just fine

  • @itsadurg thanks! also, i decided on this laptop, and i was wondering if you use a notebook cooler, and if you do what kind?

  • @69guitarchick Yea i did end up buying a cooling pad but i dont really think it matters what kind as long as its at least a 2 fan pad that can hold a 15.4" laptop

  • @itsadurg alright, thanks for the quick reply!

  • TEAM FORTRESS 2 MAX EVERYTHING except maybe AA

  • Does it get hot a lot when you play on high settings?

  • @carsforevermike it stays in the 70's when playing most games, but it can go into the high 80's with games like crysis

  • @itsadurg Alright man thanks!

  • I was wondering should I get the intel i5-2520m or the i7-2630m

  • @HotDogInATortilla Well i went with the i7-2720m but if your just looking for playing games the i5 will be just fine since the GT555m video card is the bottle neck of this system no matter what processor you use.

  • @itsadurg Thank you

  • @itsadurg i noticed you said you played the witcher 2 on this laptop, and I'm looking at this model. What settings did you have for that game if you dont mind me asking? :)

  • @69guitarchick Well you can run it on high settings but the frame rate can drop into the low 20's every now and again but usually stays around 25 fps. However it runs very smoothly on medium settings getting about 32 fps on average and still looks great.

  • Thanks for your reply! I was looking at this very model. Would it be capable of running Crysis 2 and Black Ops, with your level of processor and RAM or do you think one would need to move up to the NP8130 with the GTX 560M card? Do you know if a guy can upgrade the GPU in the NP5165 later on or are you pretty much stuck with that card for good?

  • @captainpegs07 Well as far as i know, Crysis 2 requires a lot less than the original Crysis so that game should run fine. Im pretty sure this can run Black Ops as well but If u have the money for the NP8130 then why not go for it. But anyway since the NP5165 uses optimus technology you cant replace the GPU unfortunately. The NP5165 is a great laptop for me so far though. I just finished playing the Witcher 2 for about 5 hours strait and it ran pretty good so its up to you.

  • @itsadurg Oh I didn't know it was the optimus feature that prevents upgrading the GPU! I think I'm going to stick with my plan for the NP5165 for the battery life when just doing normal work duty. Thanks for the help!

  • How low can fps get before you readily notice it?

  • @captainpegs07 Honestly you want about 30 fps but you can play at about 24 fps before you really notice
