  • The subtitles are hilarious.

  • y r all fox women blonde....and white

  • @majorjuxta Cuz they are dumb enough to work at fox

  • @LFWOL So you're saying anyone who believes in a religion shouldn't be involved in politics whatsoever?

  • Cenk you fuckin pussy. About buckingham palace - rich cock suckers stay there - obama was supposed to be a representative of the poor - so "they turned him" - I know you understand this, Cenk you fuckin pussy.

  • "He was in the gym, using our money!" :)

  • under the young turks the Jews killed alot of armenian christians in a holocaust!

  • he should of got on a plane and come to ireland or anywhere in europe for that matter it would have cost him €20 to be seen in hospital here and free in france

  • @DarkWitchX

And that's a DAMN shame, too, because I'd *love* a SANE man to have control of the button! I don't want the guy w/the literal ability to end all life on Earth in a Revelations style ending believing in Revelation, you know? I also don't want the guy sending people into space believing that their crossing thru heaven to get there, you know? Or that the War in Iraq is a "mission from God!" Anyone get what I mean?

  • @LFWOL Indeed, there is truth in what you say, I don't believe any President could get voted in if they were atheist. Too many religious quacks in this country.

  • "So what do ya want him to do, die?"

Yes, Cenk. They want him to die.

  • @LFWOL Uhh..isn't that the same thing? "Having a faith" is just the same thing as believing in that crap. After all according to Christians faith is the substance of things hoped for and the 'evidence' of things not seen...If you can wrap your head around such drivel.

  • at 18:30, this is why Ginghrich in in the 'race' right now, to advance the interests of the super rich. He has no interest in running for president. They are turning us in into surfs again.

  • @Leona147741 The word you're looking for there is 'serfs' but yeah you are probably right.

  • If you have a mormon president al-qaeda will die laughing...

  • Another liberal chucklehead. If you like this crap, go straight to MSNBC and don't load up this site with his jackass mouth.

  • @EWLESTER Another conservative wackjob whining about liberals. Go find a Corporate Entity to worship and don't put your whiny posts on this site.

  • Cenk I wouldn't vote for a mormon although I would vote for some muslims or protestants and here's why: I'm an atheist Englishman who believes all religions are nonsense. The difference between these variants of professed nonsense is that most christians don't stick too close to scripture or even believe half of what their religion supposedly espouses. There's some vague belief in god floating around their head but it doesn't in practise affect their lives/policies too much, eg. Obama.

  • I think a PAGAN prez would be better.

  • so few views

  • Lol! The guy needed healthcare, so he went to a Canadian bank. (RBC = Royal Bank of Canada)

  • YA'LL DIDN"T HEAR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's all this talk about leaving when the country crumbles. Post-apocalyptic Gang of thuggy types anyone?

  • Right before the us crumbles i'm moving to the uk

  • I'm leaving this country, u can have a drunk policeman try to intimadate me but its not going to work my chin will no longer grow ... we will see how popular I am in Mexico/Canada/wyoming

  • Ayn Rand predicted the economic crises decades ago. This is a pain in the ass of every Ayn Rand hater

  • 22:51 cenk stares at Anas tits for like 10 seconds.

  • Farakhan and the Clerics of Iran know quite a bit about dark magic, Satan, & satanic activities, don't they? I agree that Obama is no hero; but brother Muamar didn't do any thing?

That's like Obama ordering tanks & a few battalions to Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, Tenn, or Texas --- because most of 200K Tea Partyers who demonstrated in DC against Obama were likely from those states --- causing thousands of Americans to flee to, oh, Mexico... and saying Obama hasn't done anything...

  • I don't think it is bigoted to not consider voting for a Mormon.

  • @jessivehadit I'm with you on that one, really any religious person. Anyone willing to buy that an invisible force that isn't affixed to reality, but demands things IN this reality can't be trusted with the nuclear briefcase.

  • sick society indeed.

  • Lol I sucked at history class but Im pretty sure I knew a lot more than what they taught

  • She might have been worried he was gonna pull out a grenade or do something stupid when the cops showed up. I'll give her a pass.

  • Cenk impression of the CEO's sucking all the money out should be with the nose.

  • farrakhan is such a hero

  • what about her missing brain....do they know any truth???they don't want the kids educated because then even the children will know what is happening 2 our country

  • obama IS an assassin. he escalates wars and drone strikes that are KNOWN to kill innocent civilians ALL the time.. if he was anybody else, he would be considered a murderer. in fact, if hussein or gaddafi or anybody else did that, they'd be considered murderers..

i see no controversy in Minister Farrakhan's comments... there was absolutely nothing "crazy" about his statements..

if bush was considered a murderer for his actions, and obama continues bush's policies, how is obama NOT a murderer?

  • @elnegrobembon Obama sent men into Iraq based off lies? Or was that Bush? A president escalating wars Does not make them an assassin thinking that is stupid plain and simple. When those guys do it it's to kill innocents when the president does its to kill the 'bad guys'

  • @Oldcartoons571

innocent people always die in war. always.

continuing and/or escalating pointless wars started by bush makes it just as criminal. and then there's the issue of drone strikes, which have a massive amount of innocent casualties, extraordinary rendition, torture, etc, etc... when bush did that, he was considered a criminal, murderer, and even a terrorist (which i agree with)

obama continues bush's policies and now some libs are saying it's too harsh to call him what he really is..

  • 22% of Americans wouldn't vote for a mormon? I'd bet a whoooole lot more than that wouldn't vote for an agnostic, let alone an atheist.

  • @geoff2204 one must keep in mind that 15% of all americans are non religous which makes them the third largest grouping in the US.This group is growing at the fastest rate, all the while religous organistions are losing ground.secularism has flourished in scandinavia recently and they have benefited in all aspects of society.I long for the day when all countries are secular ,where religiousity is merely seen as a hocus pocus activity like tarot readings and its like.

  • The Republicans read one novel and treat it like gospel, wait....The Republicans read two novels and treat the both as gospel. I wish they would switch to non fiction every once in a while

  • Oh No, Turkey is real tight with Iran. Could it be one an the same? Don't sound good.

  • Cenk "you're free!"

    hahaha. Dead.

  • blaming iraq on obama what happened ?wasn't that bush

  • @ggsutton13 Obama caused all America's problems, including the Great Depression and Civil War.

  • AYN RaND IS MA HERO! She predicted the economic crises decades ago. Socialist and big government are the cause of it. She is a genius and nobody can take that from her. If you care about the poor you want a good economy you parasites of the economy.

  • @erdal0 sure...if you ignore all the facts, you're totally right!

  • @HugeJohn51 wow.. good argument

  • @erdal0 uh...yeah, you too, your naked assertions are entirely convincing.

Then look at where tax rates are now, and where executive pay rates are, and how that affects the deficit and the middle class and therefore the economy. Then you'll find you're totally wrong, as was Ayn Rand.

  • @HugeJohn51 it is not even worth taking to you because of your stupidity. Those things you brought up are the effects of socialism, bureaucracy and the parasites that it creates. Everything that Ayn Rand was against. You have no clue what she is about.

  • @erdal0 I know exactly what she was about...I've read her books, seen interviews with her, it's not rocket science. fact is, she's wrong. you too. assholes like yourself and Rand want a chosen few to reap huge rewards from the system we have here, without contributing to that same system. the infrastructure and laws that made thier success possible. the parasites are the top 1% of wage earners who pay little in taxes (compared to working people) and take the lion's share of the wealth.

  • @HugeJohn51 Austrian Schoolers don't need reality, they have theory.

  • I think my family came to America with the Pilgrim Fathers, on the Titannic, and hunted beaver in the Potomac for Joseph Kennedy, etc etc

  • Could someone post the link to that video about the tax rates and where all the money has been going since the 80's that Cenk showed? I'd love to see that again on its own!!

  • I'm a liberal and I know history.

  • So you would vote for a religious candidate for president even though they are crazy? Awesome!

  • oh come on yeah hes not an assassin... he just orders assassinations...did you forget the order to assassinate anyone including us citizens? which is part of waht it made it ok to drop bombs on the family home of one target? cmon the guys a nut? maybe. but hes not wrong thats completely true what the fuck tyt

  • @narezul Based of that you come to the conclusion fuck tyt? Seriously? Did they not say he made some good points dumbass?

  • @Oldcartoons571 lmao seriously? fuck tyt? man how did you read that and see fuck tyt... can people only read what the fuck as wtf now? is this what were doing cause i missed the memo

now look i dig the anger ive been pretty pissed off myself lately but its important to aim it at the right target for the right reasons. also dont worry, i forgive you, without you even knowing you should ask for it.

  • Bachmann, just tweet a picture of your cooch so you can get the hell out of the presidential race.

  • im not against the army i really respect it. but the fact tht we are so worried abt our soldiers, their deaths, injuries etc., but do we show how many people were killed in iraq? BY OUR SOLDIERS. how many innocent people were killed. 9/11 is over. its the past, those people will never come back, yet we are still killing people over there, idk its all bullshit. my opinion. ...call me ignorant if you'd like .

  • so youre saying i should just go to greece and see what happens? maybe ill do some juggling and honk my nose horn

  • haaaaaa ur sucha beast!

  • Living in the UK , we kinda see the US as a bigger, more awesome version of our own country when we are kids.

Now it is just like watching a slow motion car crash.

  • @kieyrofl It was the home of the Power Rangers when I was a kid. Now it's the home of Paris Hilton and Snookie lol.

  • @kieyrofl - living in Canada, I find it kinds sad that the U.K looks up to the U.S when the general population of the U.S finds the U.K to be a big joke, with bad oral hygiene.

The U.K needs to set thier standards higher.

  • @TheInternetWanderer i said "when we are kids" we see the US as a more awesome version of the UK.

The US is home to pretty much every decent kids TV show/cartoon, so we see the US on a pedestal until we grow up.

  • @kieyrofl Wow really? Big bad England aint been doin so hot in this last century either. Every war we have to come save you and Frances butts, your one of the last countries still in a constitutional monarchy, not to mention how much territory and so many colonies youve lost over the years. And the worst part of it all is that you guys still think youre better than everyone. Im not saying the US is better, im just saying look at your own country before you judge others man.

  • @maxmatt4 The UK fails in alot of ways, i never said otherwise...

But we will never get /anti-women/anti-gay/anti-abortion/anti-science/overly religious nutjobs running for office, and being taken seriously.

All of our politicians are despised equally, we simply pick the least terrible (most of the time).

  • @kieyrofl I might just move to the UK when Im older if things keep going down this path. If you've faced reality here, then you fear the republicans, you fear the idiots ( a large majority), and you fear the democrats who will do nothing about it, and if they do, its only an accomadation to calm ppl down...so how are things in the UK? Whats wrong there?

  • @CaptainOmarful whats wrong in the UK?

We pay DOUBLE the amount Americans pay for fuel.

We are also involved in 2 pointless wars, though nowhere near as invested as the US, and we are actually leaving!

We have the most dull weather in the world but secretly love to complain about it.

  • @kieyrofl Haha thanks for the info. Everyplace has got some scummy stuff goin on if theyve got the means. Just curious, and I figure if I really don't wanna live here, itd be another place that speaks English.

  • Liberals are dumbing down the public education system. Wow. Let's see...Conservatives or Liberals...Whose agenda would gain the most benefit from dumbing down and misinforming the American Public? Hmmm that's such a tough question. I guess that's why the polls show Fox News viewers are the most informed viewers. LOL What a sick joke these people are.

  • lol this guy is nutz.... yes im a muslim too... reminds me of nutjob christian reverends....

no religious person will teach this speech...

  • Yeah we are still governed by religious retards.

  • rick santorum, isn't that what you get after anal sex?

  • He robbed a canadian bank. Maybe he could apply for canadian healthcare.

  • I love the guy who robbed the bank for a Dollar. Brilliant coverage as usual.

  • I thought about that "Obamacare" language the other day when I heard Sam Seder say it. It just sounded wrong coming from him. It used to be an automatic tell for a right wing shill, but now a lot of people are saying it.

  • @Tanfeliz

Yeah, it's super weird. And of all the things for the Dems/Left to adopt... ugh.

  • Farrakhan is downright creepy. Mortimer Khadafi?

  • Please come live in Canada.

  • @Maximiliare As nice as your country is, it's far too cold for my personal taste, which is why i seem to bump into so many of your countrymen, right down there in Florida.

  • I'm an ex-Mormon and I would be careful about voting for a Mormon--because unlike other religions there are actually Mormons who do follow lock-step what the church tells them to do. In Prop 8 I remember hearing from so many friends and family members who said they donated because the church told them to even though they supported gay marriage and didn't live in California. That said, I wouldn't vote for Romney but would consider Huntsman.

  • "EAT THE RICH, EAT THE RICH, DON'T YOU KNOW LIFE IS A BITCH!

    (KROKUS circa 1983)

  • Obama was not the one who sent troops to look for weapons of mass destruction...

  • Ayn Rand is an idiot. Yes I say it, she's an idiot.

  • @flipmaya Ayn Rand wasn't an idiot, she was mentally ill. "The Sociology of the Ayn Rand Cult," an article by Murray Rothbard, has some very interesting information about the pathology of the whole thing. (Note that Alan Greenspan was one of her acolytes.)

  • @flipmaya - I'll go one step further, she's a disconnected psychopath and a general asshole.

  • @flipmaya You're right. yes I say it, you're right.

  • 18:00 - 21:00 best ever...

  • We need 720p!

  • "conservative supreme court"

Wait, what? Aren't courts supposed to be the actual OBJECTIVE judgement?

You have one weird ass system man.

  • @SinisterSkip

If your courts are so clearly politically colored, your seperation of powers fails hard.

  • but it was bush that lied about the wmd, not obama?

  • Why is it that every-time America has an Election I get really nervous?

  • 13:17 LOL

  • "Left influence in school"

And my textbook comes from Texas because...

  • Im a left wing, social libertarian, and firmly believe nobody of faith should be in politics, period, because they're clearly not capable of critical thinking and logical decision making.

  • this may degrade my other arguments, but hes talking about the blood lines, is it that much of a coincidence that Obama, bush jr, dick Cheney, Sarah Palin, bush jrs wife, and john kerry are all related 10 or 11 generations back when america is 9 approaching 10 generations old.

  • Chris Christie= Governor Walnuts HAHAHAHAH

Loved that yesterday w/ Cenk- Chris, cmon, youre not Paulie Walnuts here!

  • "You didn't hear me" is a very common phrase African American oratory. It is a simple tool of rhetoric.

  • Respond to this video... He is not the first ,just first to publicly admit it!!!!!!

  • 29:45 - Well, Ana, except that Ayn Rand never wrote about how the greed of her protagonists affected the average working persons and the poor. Because, well, she didn't care to think about that.

  • I am very sad to say that this happened under the ACLC--associated with my church. Farrakhan's accusation. That is not our general point of view.

  • No mention of the neo-liberal consensus on Ayn rand's heir apparent? the founder of "the chicago school of economics" , were "corporations have no responsibility to the public or ecological degradation." comes from? but i hear all you leftist bashing the big oil companies for destroying the environment... no?

  • to call modern day liberalism classical liberalism is comparing apples and oranges. one is a political ideology and the other is a from of education based on the philosophers of the "classics", and were massively to the the left of totalitarian monarchy, dictators, oligarchies, and theocratic regimes that once ruled the planet. once the overall system moved that far to the left now we can look back and they could be broken up into libertarian / depending on who you look at.

  • @maj1kninja07 If everyone knew what you know, we'd have a lot less political discourse and a whole lot more fucking action.

  • I'm Turkish and I was a fan of this show but this show is becoming more and more a communist show. Communism is evil, it killed more than facism. Communism has never worked and will never work.

  • @erdal0 Communisim killed 0 people. Assholes did.

  • @Vormav666 10 internets awarded to Vormav.

  • @Vormav666 And if the state of that time hadn't tried to become communist, they wouldn't have

  • @abexylol Remember that before communism, the value of human life was less in Russia than after. That should tell you how worthless peasantry was in the days of the Czar.

By my logic, Mao was worse than Stalin because Russia was already used to eradicating the masses. China's great leap forward and cultural revolution was worse than anything they had done in the past.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal Its possible that the value of human life was less before than after. Its hard to point to only communism as the reason though, don't forget that we're talking about almost a centuries difference. And yes, I agree that Mao was worse. My knowledge of Lenin is quite small, but from what I've read, he seems to at least have had the peoples best interest in mind. That doesnt mean I'll pardon him though.

  • @abexylol And it's not that Mao was more into killing, but as Portal 2 has taught me, sometimes being stupid is as dangerous as being evil.

You know how many people he starved to death because he told them to stop farming and make metal? Millions upon millions in a period of 5 years. That's out of stupidity, unlike Stalin, who hated Jews and Ukrainians so much he blockaded their lands until they all starved.

The dichotomy of the 2 men is stunning.

  • @abexylol Yeah cose the Tzars were such nice guys...

  • @Vormav666 Of course they weren't, but would 60 million people have died if Russia became a democracy instead of a dictatorship? Probably not.

  • @abexylol To become a democracy they would have had to at least wait out the current Czar Nicholas who did nothing to prevent a revolution died and perhaps a more peasant-friendly monarch took power. They brought it upon themselves on both sides by impatience and stubbornness.

That is why we look down on Marx and his ideas of communism so much today. The poor state of communist states before they became communist. If England had tried it? Who knows?

  • @MultiUniv3rsal Excuse my poor knowledge of the russian revolution, but if I recall correctly, the communists stroke down another social democratic movement that was undergoing at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against revolution against dictators, as long as the aim is to institute democracy.

But if the reason communism failed in Russia was because of the condition that the state was in prior to it, how come it didn't get better during almost a century of "communism"?

  • @abexylol If I may insert myself here (hopefully just my mouth, not my foot), as much as I am a good socialist, I don't think that pure communism is any better than pure capitalism. My primary issue with Republicans is they don't realize the Socialism all around them that benefits them, and they refuse to accept that some socialistic programs are healthy. How many times has someone said, "It's all about balance".

  • @aaronsande I agree. I dont think the phrase socialism should be inflated though. Socialism means worker ownership of the means of production. Taxpayer founded healthcare etc. is social liberal.

  • @abexylol I must confess I haven't spent the time needed to use such refinements in terminology. So many political issues, so little time.

Well, actually just ONE political issue, but with so many octopus-arms it is taxing.

  • @abexylol

actually it was much better after communism, than it was before. what you've neglected to consider - intentionally perhaps - was that ussr was in constant state of war on it's land right after it's inception, against some of the most powerful empires in the world.

liberal democracies have struck down all of their enemies by the virtue of their guns and treachery. this includes national socialism and communism. don't kid yourself about the nature of usa, britain and the likes...

  • @ufster81 If communism was the better system of government it would have epically collapsed.

  • @erock195 IT didnt, China is still going strong and crushing the US atm, not to mention northern socialist europe is today the best place to live in the world.

Dont make the mistake of confusing Stalinism, a common dictator, with Communism.

  • @abexylol

world war 2 was most devastating on the economy of ussr. they lost more men of working age than rest of the allies combined. their cities were reduced to rubble, and the scorched earth policy was destructive on their agriculture for generations to come.

on the other hand, us took advantage of the war they so conveniently entered on the european front until the war was decided, by looting germany's best and the brightest along with their intellectual property.

  • @abexylol

finally, if you are ok with ignoring the imaginary cold war as it was drawn up by some neocons of their age, and the resulting existential threat the ussr had to endure after 1945, until 1990, taking up most of their resources which would be better off spent in other areas of their economy, that's your mistake and not the communists.

but again, people still argue that outside influence wasn't an important factor in the collapse of the soviet union, denying all truth to themselves.

  • @ufster81 I don't feel that my knowledge of the history of Soviet Russia and WWII is adecuate to discuss how much of the disaster that is Russia can be attributed to communism and how much to outside forces. Maybe you're right, I don't know.

  • @abexylol Dictatorship! Real communisim is not a dictatorship so what was the problem with TYT being communist?

  • @erdal0 No one will ever know if communism will work because no one's ever tried it the way Marx put it.

You can't say because people promote fairness that they're also for collectivism. That's elementary shit.

  • cenk, shut up. sometimes you go way overboard..... Farrakhan may be a greedy bastard but he does often make interesting points.

  • Cenk, last minute correction, Jewels, which Jewelry is named from, is derived from the latin for for 'plaything'. Jocale -> Jouel -> Jewel.

Common misconception but now you know something new.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal He knows. Cenks not the one making that claim, Farrakhan is. For some reason black supremacist cults are attracted to etymology, despite the fact that the etymology they present is usually wrong. Another NOI member claimed the word "nigger" is ultimately derived from the Greek "nekro". My favorite though are the Nuwaubians, who come up with things like television=tell-lie-vision, Jesus=Jah-Zeus, and gospell=ghost-spell.

  • @cockroach2 The N word as it's commonly called isn't derived that far back, it's a 19th century term derived from Negro, or 'Black'. But yes, Negro is the ancestor of that etymology. I guess you did say ultimately, though :)

I've never heard of the Nuwaubians, but it looks like I have a fun day of research ahead of me ;)

  • I really appreciate the clarity and uncensored presentation of such a wide breadth of news and media coverage. Thank you, and good luck for the future. I gotta go watch Sesame Street now... just to kind of lighten up.

  • Ana doesn't know anything about Rand. That's obvious. The republicans live out Rands philosophy? Get out of here. If she really read Atlas Shrugged like she said, she didn't understand a word of it.

  • @abexylol Both Ron and Rand Paul and Paul Ryan are objectivist Libertarians, which is odd that they all have the name Paul. But you're right, most republicans are big government social engineers in comparison to them.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal Neither of those are objectivists. Objectivism is strictly atheist and all 3 of those are religious. The fact that Paul Ryan said Rand did a good job of explaining the morality of capitalism says everything about his knowledge of Rand :)

  • @abexylol You are absolutely correct, objectivism is INHERENTLY atheistic, so to be a true adherent and to be religious is paradoxical.

Having said that, I think all three of them are far too fucking stupid and pandering to know or care about that.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal I agree - except for Ron Paul. He knows he's not an objectivist or randian.

  • @abexylol He also knows that his main fanbase is conspiracy nuts and young people who don't know shit about politics, and he uses that wherever he goes.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal Well, I have much more belief in Ron Paul and his fanbase, but thats not really worth discussing :p My point was that Ana (and Cenk) were demonstrably false and saying that Republicans are living out Rands philosophy is as stupid as saying Democrats are living out Marx's.

  • @abexylol Agreed about never discussing Ron Paul or his politics :)

And yes, they were poorly generalizing that.

  • @abexylol Just to clarify. Im not saying those people weren't influenced by Rand - Im saying they aren't objectivists, and Rand would heavily condemnd them (atleast Paul Ryan).

  • @abexylol Also, Rand was a fiction writer, a bit delusional, and wasn't the brain-center of what is attributed to her philosophy.

So would she support those guys? I dunno, it would depend on what she was high on that day.

  • Look people, our founding fathers are liberals. That word was fucking invented for the age of enlightenment and for people like the Jacobin club and anti-monarchists.

There was no such thing as libertarians then. As far as conservative? Conservative at the time was called a Monarchist. That's precisely what we were NOT.

The closest thing we ever had in our founding fathers to a conservative was Hamilton, who AFTER PARTICIPATING IN OUR REVOLUTION, tried to reinstate some British systems.

  • No shit, my last CAPTCHA check was 'BIBLEDITH"

  • cenk's missing the fundamental truth of our founding fathers. like it says in our constitution... we hold these truths to be self evident that liberty & justice is for all, amen.

  • @MissNophi2U I thought that was a Metallica quote.

  • 08:25 The founding fathers weren't liberals. They were libertarians.

  • @abexylol hahahahahhahahahahahha

  • @abexylol Our founding fathers are akin to the founders of the French Revolution. That's liberal with a capitol L. They really couldn't have been libertarians, as it was an idea that hadn't been invented for another 150 years.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal The biggest philospher that inspired the philosophy of the founding fathers were John Locke, the "father" of libertarianism. They weren't liberals as the word is used today, they were libertarians - as the word is used today.

  • @abexylol I would argue that Hobbes, Adam Smith, and Hume were more influential than Locke, but that's another discussion.

But you really have to put yourselves in their shoes and take yourself out of your own to get a real feeling for who people were, and that's difficult for a lot of folks.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal I dont agree with that, put as you say, its another discussion (And of course they had varyings of opinion). Im not sure what you mean with the last paragraph but im asuming you mean that liberals are what they would call themselves? Well, when Cenk talked about it, he was using liberals as it is used today, atleast thats how I interpreted it. "Liberalism" in todays America has changed since then. Take gun restriction etc as an example.

  • @abexylol Last sentence I was saying that to understand history from an accurate perspective you need to be able to distance yourself from what you're known and indoctrinated with and to be empathetic enough to actually get a feel for exactly what life was in certain times.

Imagine if you lived before germs were discovered? Or before the Magna Carta? Life would be fundamentally different than anything you've ever witnessed or experienced.

  • @abexylol Also, actually Locke is known as the 'Father of Liberalism'

  • @MultiUniv3rsal I think we're talking over eachothers heads. Yes, he is but the meaning of the phrase has changed since then. Liberalism of that time is todays libertarianism (thats why libertarianism is also called classical liberalism)

  • @abexylol I disagree, libertarianism is a 20th century term and has vastly different ideals, you'd essentially be renaming those people for confirmational bias. Gun control and these other modern subjects are precisely that; modern subjects. Before the 20th century you could have all the guns you could fit in your property. You could have built your warehouse for them out of cocaine.
