  • personally, i think that danny carey is the best drummer ever!!!

  • pshhhhh im better lol jkjkjkjk jk he is ridiculously amazing every song he does is perfect

  • The best drummer in the business today!

  • Technically, its not a hard song to play, but, the fact is, he created it and you obviously tried to mimic it, probably even nailed it. My point is, he is considered a legend and there is a reason for it. Do your research.

  • anyone have the how video or set of this?

  • He completely feels the music... I bet you could just randomly start playing him tunes and he would start drumming to it and it would sound accurate. incredible. he studdies everything about drums like geometry and metaphysics.

  • The way he plays is so artistic... i bet if you seen him air drumming this song you could tell what song he was playing... without knowledge of drumming.

  • satyris... whatever,, "its not a hard song to play.," you are trippin... danny is the best, period, end of discussion

  • ...oh and yeah you're right. Comming up with the stuff he does just goes to show.

  • Danny's probably the most solid drummer in the hard rock biz today, imho. Wether playing simple or complex beats... Danny simply nails it all 110%.

  • yeah I completely agree about it being easy to imitate but rediculously hard to write the stuff in the first place. I could NEVER come up with the stuff he does.

  • FUCK, who cares how hard it is to play? He adds to the song, shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

  • Okay there was no need to write a second comment I guess. Youtube is a bit laggy I guess.

  • It's far more impressive that he wrote this. Most drummers can play a beat but many lack the creativity and knowledge to even come close in terms of composition. And even most drummers who say they can play a beat are only half right. When played against a metronome you'll find it just doesn't line up. I speak from personal experience. I can play somewhat complex beats but the hardest part is keeping time.

  • kinda hard to play Tool to a met anyway, because you'd have to stop every measure and change the beat subdivision.... haha

  • It's far more impressive to be able to write something like this than to play it. And even then many drummers can play complex beats but when played against a metronome, their inadequecies are clearly shown.

  • i like these "musicians" who can learn a Rachmaninof concert in a week. Its not big deal, you can do it by ear...

  • It's not a hard song to play, but the tempo is still pretty progged out

  • thats a complex drumset

  • that's an even complexer drum beat!

  • Actually it's one of Tool's easier songs to play.

  • doesn-t mean its not damn hard.

  • yeah it does. This was the first tool song I learnt. Only took around a week to learn it by ear.

  • Try playing this with a band. It's not that hard with a CD but with a band all your timeing needs to be perfect or your fucked. It's one of those songs that needs to be 100% in sync for it to sound good.
