  • fantastic!

    thank you sir!

  • Oh .... did you have the TZ7 long before it failed? ... I'm liking it alot ... hope it lasts awhile!

  • @mishamittens Its just over 18 months old, it is the plastic zoom lever which has broken inside the camera. I have bought a faulty camera to rob the parts from it as it was cheaper than the price quoted from Panasonic.

  • @ghough12 ... I cannot do any home repairs so I'll be gentle and hope to get 18 months out of mine :-)

  • Love it.

Is the TZ10 the same as the TZ7 in the U.S. and are they the same is the ZS10 and 7 (confused)

  • @mishamittens Hi Mona, no the TZ10 replaced the TZ7 ( its the ZS7 in the States) It is similar with 16x zoom and manual exposure control and geo-tagging. My TZ7 failed with the zoom switch not working so i bought the tZ10 secondhand but it appears brand new. Panasonic have released 2 more updates the TZ18 and the TZ20. The TZ20 offers a new sensor, more pixels and 3D capability. I don't need those options. Thanks for viewing.

  • LOVE IT LOVE IT!!

  • A great collection of photos showing the changing face of Manchester but I'm glad that a lot of the old architecture is still intact.

  • they are pretty damned fine. the main reason im going for the fuji is the 1080 video capabilities which will bring it into line with my other equipment. also Fuji's claims that the 550 is excellent for low light shooting. im not that naive to believe advertising speak after all isnt that what al manufacturers say when they are about to release a new camera LOL but fuji do seem to be making a lot of the 550's low light capabilities.

  • im about to do something i never thought i would ever do ..... yes im jumping ship to Fuji and treating myself to the new F550exr.

    anyone want a mint condition TZ10 ?

  • @mrrandom177 The only thing that holds me back from this and the new TZ20 is the pixel density on such small sensors. The exr uses pixel grouping to achieve better lo light. I'm off to the NEC show 9th March so I want to take a SDHC card and see if i can get some sample images/video from both cameras. What are you finding wrong with the TZ10? maybe the video is a little noisy.

  • @ghough12 TBH, Graham, for the most i cant fault the TZ10. as you demonstrate here its a very capable compact. we know these compacts are not the best in low light situations, but for what they are

  • Great! The music fits perfect to the video :)

Congratulations to your new TZ10, Graham!

  • @N0Limbo Thanks Herwig, I'm still hoping to repair the TZ7 as i think the IQ is a little better but there is some great detail resolved by the TZ10 and if kept below iso 200 looks pretty grain free on most images.

    Your camera technique is wonderful.

Even the detail in the building is a clear image.

TZ10 is a last camera of CCD image sensor type at the TZ series and a commemorative camera.

Moreover, I think TZ10 to be a valuable camera as an object of comparison of the image

  • @MrWalkerAki Thank you for your kind comments. Yes I fear the TZ20 with the MOS sensor may be a step too far for this size of camera. It is like the change to te FZ100, the still image quality is just not as good as the FZ38 however the video quality is slightly better.

  • Did you just buy the tz10 if so you should have waited for the tz20

  • @arrow1archer Yes I know the TZ20 is due out however I just think that the image quality will be just as poor as the Fz100 when changing to MOS technology and higher pixels. The CCD imager of the tz7/tz10 takes great stills with very little noise under iso 400. I don't like 1080i, prefering the 720p mode. I'll have a good look at it at the NEC show
