I understand that you're using a crappy amp, but the strings themselves need to be replaced. Strings are supposed to sound like they have some "life" where as these sound flat and very "twangy", which is a sign that they need to be replaced.
By the way, I have a Mesa Express 5:25 I use for practice. It's a small 1x10 combo, but it doesn't sound anything like that. The size doesn't matter, it's all about the tonal control of your guitar and how you play.

Gotta say bro not the best vid of this solo i've seen. Don't get me wrong its a decent effort and a fuckin hard solo to master. But overal you weren't very fluid and accurate in the legato and alternate picking parts, your bends and slides were off and your guitar tone was trerrible.

Disregard the fact that he consistently misses notes left right and centre, plays out of key, plays something completely different at about 1:23, has a right hand technique that's painful to watch and vibratos everything for no reason. Sloppy would be an understatement.
I am just saying he doesn't need all this god damn criticism. I bet you're not a perfect guitar player, and if you think you are, I bet you're a pretty cocky guy. Sure he needs to work on it a little more, but its not that can't be touched up.
Second, this is a lesson for all of youtube: Nothing is above criticism, regardless of whether or not I can do it. A restaurant critic probably can'y cook a brilliant soufflé, but they know what a good one tastes like. A book critic probably can't write a great novel, but they know what a great novel reads like. I can't play as fast as this guy yet, but I know what the solo is supposed to sound like and I know what is and isn't a good cover version.
Honestly, I see so many of these "WELL YOU CAN'T DO IT SO SHUT UP" comments, it's ridiculous.
I'm no where near a perfect guitar player, and the only way I'm going to get better is by practising and through constructive criticism. So stop acting like this guy needs defending from anything; if he didn't play it particularly great, simply showering him with praise isn't going to achieve anything.
I can one guy on the first page giving you a 5 star rating, not because of the quality of your video, but because other people are criticising you. Look, I don't care what shirt you're wearing and the people that comment about it are probably pre-pubescent kids with nothing better to do, which is typical of all of youtube, but the fact is, your cover had some major flaws.
Sure you've got some speed, and the sweeping sections weren't bad, but like so many other players it seems you've neglected so many other facets of your playing in order to focus on being faster. The slower sections at the beginning were quite out of time, there were quite a few missed notes and quite a few notes that were just wrong. What I recommend is that you practice those sections with a metronome, concentration on hitting the right note at the right time.
I know it sounds basic but that's what it takes. Being a fast player is great but it isn't everything. The very foundations of your playing should be your timing and your ability to play cleanly. Then you can factor these into your fast playing.

Gotta say bro not the best vid of this solo i've seen. Don't get me wrong its a decent effort and a fuckin hard solo to master. But overal you weren't very fluid and accurate in the legato and alternate picking parts, your bends and slides were off and your guitar tone was trerrible.
Looking at your last comment, fair enough for posting this like 2 hours after learning it but i suggest you prepare more before posting more.
Still not an entirely bad effort.

Disregard the fact that he consistently misses notes left right and centre, plays out of key, plays something completely different at about 1:23, has a right hand technique that's painful to watch and vibratos everything for no reason. Sloppy would be an understatement.

Second, this is a lesson for all of youtube: Nothing is above criticism, regardless of whether or not I can do it. A restaurant critic probably can'y cook a brilliant soufflé, but they know what a good one tastes like. A book critic probably can't write a great novel, but they know what a great novel reads like. I can't play as fast as this guy yet, but I know what the solo is supposed to sound like and I know what is and isn't a good cover version.

Honestly, I see so many of these "WELL YOU CAN'T DO IT SO SHUT UP" comments, it's ridiculous.
I'm no where near a perfect guitar player, and the only way I'm going to get better is by practising and through constructive criticism. So stop acting like this guy needs defending from anything; if he didn't play it particularly great, simply showering him with praise isn't going to achieve anything.

I can one guy on the first page giving you a 5 star rating, not because of the quality of your video, but because other people are criticising you. Look, I don't care what shirt you're wearing and the people that comment about it are probably pre-pubescent kids with nothing better to do, which is typical of all of youtube, but the fact is, your cover had some major flaws.

Sure you've got some speed, and the sweeping sections weren't bad, but like so many other players it seems you've neglected so many other facets of your playing in order to focus on being faster. The slower sections at the beginning were quite out of time, there were quite a few missed notes and quite a few notes that were just wrong. What I recommend is that you practice those sections with a metronome, concentration on hitting the right note at the right time.

I know it sounds basic but that's what it takes. Being a fast player is great but it isn't everything. The very foundations of your playing should be your timing and your ability to play cleanly. Then you can factor these into your fast playing.

this is no where near an accurate representation of my playing. i'm not a btbam fan but i heard this solo and decided to learn it. it took me like 2 hours to learn and i posted it shortly afterward. i know i missed notes and made some up, i just didn't care. i didn't think people would be acting like this. i've seen far worse videos get nothing but positive feedback.

But maybe instead of weathering a barrage of insults about his shirt and getting cranky when his video doesn't get universal praise he should either state that it's rough and he only practised it for two hours at the start, or just not post the video up at all. And all this from the guy who's only comment was that he had huge muscles (irrelevant), shreds really well (debatable) and could pick up more chicks (incredibly childish).
