WOW.. I love it.. no wonder he is one of the top vocalists of our time.. he can sing anything.. with anyone.. Way to go CHRIS. THANKS FOR THE MUSIC.. keep it commin
CHRIS CORNELL & TIMBALAND IS GENUIS any body who discredited this does'nt really understand what a real rock stars is which is really not giving a fuck and doing what i please.. this album is beautiful.. the body of worj they produced is trippy and a new twist on MUSIC ... forget hip hop and rock it's something else cool
ok i didn't think i was gonna like it, but i love it!!! i love it that chris cornell did something different and it has a rad sound....and his voice is amazing....not disappointed :D
.....this one is going to be huge....I;m the first one to say i love the heavy stuff that chris has fed us in the past but this Scream is fresh, melodic and very original....it's going to be the next Thriller....I saw the tour in Vancouver and believe me the new songs were great live. Very energetic and catchy...even if your a die hard metal head like me this record will grow on you like a plantar's wart !!!!!!! a great album from start ot finish....every song is gold jerry...gold.
actually listen too it twice its really catchy, could be that its just a complete step away from anything he did with soundgarden.Quality pop/r&b perhaps.
Cornell with Timbaland... hmm I like other Timbaland collabos and can understand an artist doing somethin different, but this one isn't really doing it for me. I love Chris Cornell as a solo artist otherwise, as well as with Soundgarden and Audioslave
it is an extreme jump and i won't lie, i'm more of a soundgarden fan than i am to this. i guess i'd like to hear a little more before i cast judgement.
Best album of his career? Artists always say this when they have relased shit just to delude themselves they still have the magic. To compare anything on "Scream" to "Limo Wreck" or "Fell On Black Days" -fuck off. Chris, you don't. have the magic. Give up.
Maybe he didnt say that to sell albums, maybe he truly believes that this is where his music is at at the moment and believes in what he's doing - nothing wrong with that hey?
his sound has deffinetly changed, but i still think he has a great voice & i'm willing to still listen to him...how i wish i was there to experience the 90's.
Bruce Springsteen does a song saying "I'm turning into Elvis, and there's nothing I can do about it" -- it's hard to make good original music that many people love, without being commercialized. But after all, nobody lives forever, and people start to think about security for their families and so get around to cashing in -- you can't hate 'em, but their voices become less meaningful - the world needs youthful idealism, and it's always from the latest generation, not from the middle-aged...
chris cornell is a ledgend and timbaland is a great producer he makes me like rnb or hip hop whatever i'm normally a rock person and this song is great
why dont you listen to the whole ucking album before you make bullshit comments. And by the way timbaland overproduces every artist he works with and thats not bad.
Cornell's a singer, Timbaland makes music, which is why almost all of his songs involve other people. It doesn't matter if the song is primarily Timbaland-esque, it's supposed to be. It's a collaboration of a singer and a hip hop musician. Stop complaining.
it sounds good to me. I'm surprised with the direction Chris is taking his music but I think I'm into it. you guys gotta stop trying to label things, its obvious this isn't hip-hop, but it's hip-hop inspired. This isn't crap, it's just different. open up your ears and you minds a little.
I gotta give him props for doing it! I really like some of it-don't like other parts-but I respect any musician who follows their muse and doesn't just do the same shit over and over...
where can I get the full versions on the songs from this performance? I've been all over the 98.7 site and all I can find is another medley vid like this one....
I'm loving this shit!!! i think its a great piece of work. chris cornell has alot of soul in his voice, and it blends perfectly. I always thought his music was a bit mellow for the most part, so i dont know what the big deal is. my opinion, the album is hot. it's very theatrical, and different.
He was good in Audioslave. Good in the Bond-song. And (I'm probably gonna get hated for this here, but anyways) Soundgarden was kinda crap. I didn't like it. But that's maybe because I like the music a little "heavier". Far from as heavy as Slipknot and stuff. But like.. Audioslave was the perfect combination.
If you don't like the genre it doesn't make it "crap". Soundgarden was one of the greatest grunge bands of the 90's, it makes me sad that Chris Cornell is trying to get his career into a hip-hop fiasco
I actually like Soundgarden a lot more than Audioslave, I think Chris was a lot more daring with his vocals in Soundgarden. And Soundgarden, at least the early stuff, is pretty heavy. You should check out Louder than Love, Ultramega OK, maybe Badmotorfinger too.
You're kinda lost if you think the Bond Song and Audioslave were heavier than Soundgarden was. I bet you've just heard Black Hole Sun and made all your picture about them. Try listening to Ultramega OK and Badmotorfinger and then, you state your opinion... "Soundgarden was kinda crap": Impossible to be further from the truth.
Yeah, you're right, but who's the dumbass who made this allegation...? Soundgarden was waaayyy heavier than Audioslave, and far better sounding, too. Whoever made this claim really needs to get the fuzz out of their ears, and the mental defect out of their brains. Oh, and when I mean defect, I mean their lack of a brain. I'm agreeing with you.
Got a catchy chorus - and does sound distinctly Chris-like. I like it better than his solo shite...No man, nor band will ever attain the heights of "Love Like Suicide" though...
It is a well documented fact that people who type 'Idk' have brains 33.3% smaller than gnats with dwarfism. Evolution takes place everywhere...music is no different.
i think that you can't deny chris cornell is way better singer than eddie vedder! i consider chris cornell one of the best singers of rock history but what i'm talking about has got nothing to do with his voice skills but the attitude... what i was trying to say is that eddie vedder always kept and keep making grunge alive!
has i said before, it doesn't sound bad... just wasn't expecting this kind of "turn" in chris carreer.
Cool. But that's just the difference between the two. Chris is an artist, he doesn't classify himself in one genre. He's said in interviews that he wants to do many types of music before his time on earth's done. Vedder may be on the quest to keep grunge alive. But Chris can't be put in a box and confined.
Oh and im not a timberland fan, I think he sucks ass, but what he did here with chris is great. they both kinda met in the middle. They both had to give a little to work with each other.
THE SONG IS AWESOME, everyone needs to open their mind a little, all bands go in different directions, that doesnt mean chris will stay with this kind of music forever. But I love this song, it gives me the chills and any song that does that is great and will be with me forever.
I don't understand you people. I'm not a big Timbaland fan either, and yes this is a major change from the norm for Chris. But that's what makes him a great artist. He doesn't fit inside everyone's box of distorted guitar and crazy hyper active drummers. He's a true artist, not bound by genre. Everything he touches is good. So stop hating and support the man. This is certainly not a drop for his career, as some say. Simply a different direction. BTW FUCK VEDDER THE GOAT.
I know is not the chris of soundgarden, temple of the dog or audioslave , but everything he does is fine, while he still has that voice can do whatever he wants, also is good to try change stiles and not be afraid of it.
although it doesn't sound bad, the image of chris cornell that i built in my head trough all these years just went for a ride,,,, all hail king vedder!
I dunno , what else could he have done . The rock thing was kinda done with audioslave, its a shame 2 hear him in this way but i can respect him for doing something different
Yall just a bunch of haters stuck in a time-warp. If only the rest of "pop music" was this decent, mainstream modern radio wouldn't be so bad. Take your chains off of Cornell and let him do his thang, even if it isn't what you want him to be doing. I hope too though that he'll get back to his true music soul and help keep real rock alive.
LMAO, he's comparing "Scream" to "Dark Side of the Moon." He apparently wanted to imitate the feeling of Pink Floyd, not their sound, but either way it seems as though he has failed miserably.
these song had great potential as hard rock songs with more agressive vocals and a real drum track they would be awesome espicially if they were done by soundgarden
i'm a big soundgarden fan but this is just weak. although i should expect nothing else from a response to a fucking fall out boy video. how could someone go from grunge to this?
