So I guess a suggestion could be to not come straight out and say what you're feeling "I'm sad, you can sing this when you're sad too" but writing in a more artistic way, that can get your point across even better.

Or is this a song about you being sad? I leave the Scientist and Swallowed knowing exactly what it's about, without Chris just coming out and saying it, which is what makes him such a good songwriter.

I liked it, it wasnt super. Comparing you to coldplay i definitely hear their influence into your music, but i also missed something a coldplay song usually has. Thats that little extra, the change in chords after a while. So where coldplay goes a little further in their songs you kind of keep hanging in the same. Its hard to explain but i hope you understand me a little. I hope you see this as constructive critism and please keep on playing. You have a bright future ahead no doubt.
