I don't know. Bernstein looks slouched over, then just wails that baton away from nothing. Amerika has never producted anything of real musical quality in the classical genre, just that pop shit which he tried to cater to. But because he was a jew, we have to hold him to high regard, eh? Not me. Zimerman must have wondered to himself why he lowered his standards to come play for this rag-tag group of gleek wanna-bes.
.. I'm sorry but I have to post this comment for our friend tguiot...

A belated but hopefully not too late comment: Impressed by a forceful yet delicate performance put up by these true artists, I am particularly moved by the soloist's attitude. He shook hands with the conductor, the 1st violin (and also with the 2nd violin), thanked the orchestra, and only then did he bow to the public.
Feeling rather annoyed by many soloists who at most greet the conductor, bow to the audience and walk away without even looking at the orchestra, I think Zimerman set an example.
Due to political reasons this artist decided not to play in the U.S. anymore, and this is just plain and simple wrong.
An artist of this standing should think about something like that, because of the fact that there are fans on both sides of any political issues, and there are sensitivities too as well, I felt really dissappointed because he was and is one of my favorite pianist.
I was going to make a comment about this, but you beat me to it. :P Yeah, it's sad, he's an excellent pianist, but he said some controversial things when he last played here in April of 2009. He had to like apparently make some speech before playing. I really hope he changes his mind...
@telemann732002 I don't know that it's that wrong per say, but it is a constitutional right to say what's on your mind. Could one say he is wrong about that!
Wow, how incredible that one man created such beautiful, passionate, moving music - a roller-coaster of emotions - and so much of his music is like that. Bravo, Mr. Beethoven!
I wish i could be there !!!! watch his hands, and his faces while playing it
