@kelpend555 Why dont you get fucked and pick on some1 who deserves it. Tell me who deserves money and media attention more. Some1 that hits a ball in a hole/ over a net or some1 as heroic as Jess that is willing to sacrifice family, freinds, school etc for so long and spend 210 in complete solitude to make their dreams come true? If you ask me Jess deserves more money and media attention.

@kelpend555 She followed her dreams and risked her life to made them come true. People have to act in self interest the make their OWN dreams come true. She never asked for media attention so do not insult her because the media thinks what she did was amazing. I saw on an interveiw she needs money to pay her fathers debts. She earned her money by risking her life and she can do whatever she wants with it. How do you know she wont give to charity after she pays her fathers debts+other expenses.

@allosauras She never asked for media attention???? The whole thing was a media event. She was heavily sponsored and even waited for three days until Saturaday before sailing in to maximize the coverage!!! Her fathers debts only arose from her doing the bloody trip in the first place. So trying to make out she is doing something noble is sheer hypocrisy. You truly are one of the easily lead morons of the great unwashed.

@kelpend555 And im not lead by the media like a mindless sheep, I hate and dont trust the media. I recall they where saying she was not ready and she shouldnt do it. I followed Jessica's progress through her website not through the lieing and manipulating media and i beleived she would succeed from the begining. Oh and yes i probably spelt something wrong. Unlike you i am not an uptight, anal retentive dickhead and i dont care if people judge me for spelling one thing wrong -_-.

@allosauras You are impressed by self serving feats by self serving people. How could she not succeed? She had a support team bigger than the cast of Ben Hur and the sponsorship to match. And, in view of the fact that she didnt even get beyond the shipping lanes on her first attempt, I'd say her credibility is questionable. But what has she achieved? No record, nothing for anyone other than herself and her sponsors. What a disgrace, and only the simple minded idiots are impressed.

@kelpend555 No matter how much support she had on land, out on the sea she is on her own. You know she capsized like 7 times (Her sponsors and support couldnt help her then could they). Do you have any idea how scaring it would be to b alone, in the middle of the ocean (Litterally weeks of sailing from anywhere) getting smashed by storms and having your boat getting capsized. During one storm her boat capsized 4 times. Trust me she could have easily not succeeded.

@kelpend555 Her credibility is not questionable. She sailed the most dangerous seas in the world alone. She is probably the greatest sailor alive, no1 else has sailed the world so young. I also cannot beleive you only 'acknowledge' people that set records. Cant you respect what she went through, even though she didnt set a record. If some1 disabled climbed Everest wouldnt you think it was brave (Even though other disabled people have done it be4 him/her and he/she didnt set a record)?

@allosauras Thats my point, she didnt do it alone, she had a massive support crew! She had massive sponsorship! And in spite of all this support, she didnt set a record! Comparing her to someone who has conquered true adversity, such as a disabled climber, is degrading. Jessica is a snot nosed brat who's only motivation is self interest.

@kelpend555 My point is 'She did do all the hard work alone'. Support crews and sponsors got her the boat and helped her set it up, Thats all they done. She on the other hand faced the worst seas you could imagine. And its not about records. Whether she set a record or not is irrelavent. She done the same amount of work it would take to make a record except she is under the age of 18. And she's not a snot nosed brat -_-

@kelpend555 True acheivers? What is more difficult then sailing solo around the world dumb fuck? That is the probably the most dangerous thing to do on this planet. What compares? Lion Tamer/ Bungie jumper/ Mountain climber? With all these there are people there helping them (With tranquilizers to stop the lion or people with oxygen+ first aid if some1 is hurt). None come close. If Jess broke a leg in a storm she would have no help for weeks/ months so dont fking say shit about her.

Other organizations accept her record you fuckwit. I think u hate her because ur a 39 year old loser that hasnt and neva will acheive anything. But at least you will be dead soon. @gingy717 Yes but she didnt set the record she told us she was seeking. Regardless of any other incidental records she wasnt the youngest to go around the world. And, at the end of the day, her motivation was purely self interest. I dont hate her. I just think that all the do nothing losers (like you) are morons for supporting and admiring someone whos only motivation is self interest. @kelpend555 Not that it is any of your business but i am doing an apprenticeship as a electrician. Im guessing you will say that doing a trade is low life or something but honestly i would rather do a trade which is real work then b a lawyer or accountant or one of them useless people that sit in an office, get really fat and never contribute anything real to a country -_-.
If every lawyer died tomorow what would happen? A few people in court would have to represent themselves.

@kelpend555 And i RESPECT Jessica because i have done sailing (on my dads 14 ft catermaran) and i know what it like. You have to worry about wind direction, rudders, keels, ropes, spiniga's, main sail, tacking, Jibing etc and thats on a small boat in a bay. Could you Imagine sailing a small yacht alone in stormy seas. In the sydney to hobart like 4 people died one year and they do around 1/15 the distance. Thats how dangerous and hard sailing is.

@kelpend555 Boy, you really have a problem or problems, if you've so eager to put people down, who achieve great things, and especially Jessica Watson, only 16, all alone on the high seas. Do something constructive with your anger, you only live once. Jesse has inspired me and my hubby to take up sailing this fall. We're in our 50's, but age is a state of mind. Jesse is a role model for all ages, including you. Take away something good from what she's done, and be inspired to follow that dream.

@kelpend555 Sailing is not selfish. In the near future I hope to have a ministery for abused women that will include sailing, so don't call me selfish. You don't even know me, and yet you judge me! I also pray for people; I sign countless petitions against human and animal cruelty; I donate to several organizations. My existence revolves around my family and getting well; I've had cancer. Are you aware that Dutch authorities have intervened to stop a young solo sailor, on the grounds that it is too dangerous? Are you aware that the Australian childhood foundation are against these child sailors going solo? And whos dream are they following anyway?

Some Ghurka trainees hike for 21 days without food, water or lucrative sponsorships!!! So I ask what have you done? What have YOU done??? Have you done anything?? She's at us all, and I'm just wondering what she's on? As John Cleese would say, "What is the bloody point"? My Dad was like this, but he was bitter and unhappy, hm. Anyway, I think we're all terrific with individual gifts, even kelpen is he or she would take a good look at his or her own life.

@ChrisPCrunchy Im not trying to make myself big, I'm just calling as I see it. If youre impressed by this I can only assume youre impressed by just about anything. What impresses me is people who achieve. She hasnt made the record and her motives were self serving. Being likable doesnt cut it when she did it purely put of self interest. But you will never understand that, because you are easily impressed by hollow victories and material objects.
