  • this makes me want to be a ninja

  • These pepol ar tooooo kleevaaa!

  • at 0:57,the panda moves, but not the image on the crystal? aw Shit..

  • 'Harry Potter' Invisibility Device? I thought his Cloak was Made of Fabric,Not Calcite Crystal....

  • asians... of course

  • of course the azns are doing it

  • Girls have to worry about invisible perverts now,WOW and they already had it bad.

  • why did they have to use the name pussy potter..why not crysis 2 or something related to it -_-

  • @lightThatcherry wtf do u have against potter u hoe >:(

  • @chrisstevensjunior harry potter is gay..even in real life..for real that is..so yeh he sucks..and who you calling a hoe hoe?! ;(

  • @lightThatcherry lol even if he were gay doesnt mean hes no good... and i tend to call people hoe hoe :) just for the hell of it

  • YAY!!!! HARRY POTTER (thumbs up if you get it)

  • omg, he has such a stereotypic asian accent x)

  • am i missing something? it looks like they are playing with polarization. you can do the same with polarized sun glasses.

  • Wtf happened to the MIT invisible cloak?

    Military gobbled it up?

It came out like 4 years ago, was all over the news, then just fucking vanished without a word.

  • @Klaus1386 maybe its still there but we just cant see it. =D

  • @Klaus1386 of course it vanished its an invisiblity cloak

  • What they do is bend the light behind the object to just go around towards the front of the object, as if the object weren't even there. So all you see is what's behind it.

They also have teleportation technology where they use the properties of quantum entanglement to transfer information from one quantum particle to another quantum particle, because both of the particles are always influenced by what goes on with the other one. Cool stuff

  • Half Cloaked Paintball Mask Here --> /watch?v=_cscSQWtIkQ

  • the only thing im concerned about is when he wants to do something usefull with the devise people use it for war same with TNT

  • oh crap what happens if the military uses this

  • I like how they have to use subtitles for when he's talking. Just cause he's Asian. Bloody racists - he clearly speaks better English than half the English people in Birmingham do lol

  • @cloudig It's just because he is a bit hard to understand without Subtitles.

  • @EpicDearz if you're really having a hard time understanding what he is saying you obviously haven't seen much of the world outside of your country

  • @cloudig I haven't seen much of the world outside of my bedroom.

  • @cloudig They put subtitles for deaf people. I think the racist here is you -.-'

  • The only thing I understood was the panda :\

  • Many use in the future? hahaha think of all the naughty things you can do!

  • This will never be available to us daily life humans, sure the technology might be developed, but with the amount of crimes and misdeeds we could and would do with it, I doubt it will ever be available to us.

  • if you make a suit that reflects light like a mirror, then make another siut that is transparent twicw the size of the "mirror" suit, and place the mirror suit in the transparent suit and fill the gap with water, then put a man in the suit and make him jumo into the water, the man wil appear to be invisible under water. simple.

  • @dhorrorpt You're an idiot

  • I seen this on Bill Nye the Science Guy

  • nice i watched a doc on how scientist who were working on a cloaking device stumbled instead on a anti radar detector

  • When scientists say "medical uses" or whatever, what they really mean is military

  • asian peop-- I MEAN SCIENTISTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

  • That's right... train those Chinese dudes with their F-1 visa's how to make this shit so they can go home and pass that shit along to China. WTF?...

  • @Nonsequitor415 Uhm, yeah, and? Free exchange of technology and all that?

  • Dude its just polarization, I went to a physics seminar and they demonstrated something similar.

  • cool

  • Watch 0.56 around and see the blurry square infront of the panda mostly disappear

  • All we need is fucking spaceships and we've blasted past the UNSC in terms of tech.

  • Invisibility this, invisibility that. Blah, blah, blah---MAKE ME A GODDAMN LIGHTSABER ALREADY!!!!!!

  • @DrunkenRuckus

a light saber is kinda imposible to make, first light dont have resistant, and second it countinues ininitle(kindsa), or until it hit somthings,

but now how to make one of plasma, but the tecnology aint advanced enough

  • @DrunkenRuckus Fuck you! This is what i been living for!!!

ill start saving up so i can get one in the future!!

  • @GreenRaccon calm down im sure he was kidding now go back to pretending to be invisible

  • @25dragonraider Fuck you puto come mierda bich!!!

  • @GreenRaccon your probably not even spanish me i know french Alors enfermé salope chatte baiser lécher!

  • @25dragonraider What the fuck do you mean by "your probably not even spanish me"?

  • @GreenRaccon as in your probably not even Spanish, ME i know french

  • @25dragonraider Mira Cabron.

You dont need to be spanish to talk spanish.

Yes i speak spanish and i dont give 2 shits if you talk french or not.

  • you can spot submarine with radar right? =.=

  • @RichardGold8 no you cant -___-", RADAR detects subs when on surface, when it's submerged there's no way of finding it without the use of active SONAR. That is still difficult since you have to be on top of the sub to detect it.

  • but will it blend?

  • Holy Shit.... 2020's Nanosuit is on it's way :D

  • cool in the future I will be able to hide my submarine underwater; finally my neighbours will stop complaining about a nuclear submarine parked in my backyard, thank you japs

  • Great. Another way to lose your fucking keys.

  • Doesn't mean they can't work there

  • Birmingham my ass they are asian!

  • >Such as, a Submarine..

Goes to show where their intentions lay.

  • sneak into a girls house and play with her boobs and she wont know who did it

  • Try recording using two separate video cams or let's say capture in 3D. Let's see if the crystal really helps. Capturing using 1 video cam tends the object disappear while doing some adjustment/focusing. Seems useless innovation to me unless of course you capture a UFO and learn the cloaking technology behind it. ^_^

  • Retarded

  • A really good start to invisibility, scale it down, put it on a suit that acts as part of the human wearing it so when turned on it would do its work on one mass. But that's just an idea.........

  • This is not really invisibility and it will not be likely that this will be the method of obtaining invisibility. The calcite crystal, much like glass, reflects, and refracts light. but the medium of light refracted by the calcite crystal is invisible, therefore, using the lense, you can see the light being refracted, making the crystal transparent.

  • he already knows, another idea for the military

  • i can spy on people having sex now.

  • lol who its clear so duhh we can see through it... put something inside it and lat me see past it then i'll be amazed

  • War? No, its very hard to conceal an object like a human being, and all the equipment will make movement impossible including the cloak. Sniping could be one thing, but we don't really need it since we are far away, and if they were to use inferred we could be spotted easily. This is my theory, and I am just wondering how this could be used in war? Unless your a secret agent looking to corrupt Nations. Maybe...

  • And it will be used for war again...

  • Who else read this in Star Trek Magazine? lol

  • War stuff...

  • imagine all the terrorists that are going to be killed and how many U.S. and NATO lives will be saved because of this device...its beautiful.

  • Quick! Get the invisibility cloak!

  • Military will be the first to use it sadly

  • hmm be hard to be put in human test trials though, unless they made some kinda goggles that let you see maybe???

  • maximum cloak... cloak engaged!

  • I think I'd rather use this for spying on babes.

  • if it wasnt so god danm reflective, with that fuckin rainbow. this might be usefull. maybe its better from a distance. then again if this can only reflect wats behind it. i cant really use it . only use i see of it is stalking people. or hiding small things i wanna use this to make a room look empty

  • use it to hide our planet

  • whatamilookingat.jpg

  • "its the dream of science fiction and fantasy fans everywhere"

    what about perv's?

  • @rrmarba What's the difference?

  • thumbs up for the creepy panda

  • @katon95 me too.

  • imma buy that and hide from the monkeys <(0_0<)

  • I smell Crysis 2.

  • I like how it's the University of Birmingham but everyone is a native Chinese.

  • of course, there asians!

  • omg... this is just a celice crystal reacting to a charge and changing the properties of it..... what got cloaked? the bear? XDDDD oooo the crystal.... already exist this.... like the window that can adjust the brightness that can come into a bedroom... this is the same but in different way

  • LOL I love how this is in the UK. But the device is still invented by Asians. =p

  • What's turning invisible?

  • I understand how it bends light to make the item invisible but how does bending the light create the object to become see through aswell?

  • Its very easy, everyone can get this shit, its not a clock , it a material - you can find it in LCD/LED monitors and calculators, the material is glued on the screen, you can see this effect only on this material!

    Effect lights: invisible,green and blue.

Try to see through this material on any LCD/LED screen, you will see green , blue and normal screen if you spin the material like in the video.

  • CLOAK ENGAGED.

  • I swear..if this ever gets released to the public, I'm gonna get one, dress up in a blue suit with a blue ski mask, and start stabbing people in the back with a butterfly knife.

Then I'll clear my throat, straighten my tie, say "Gentlemen" to the witnesses, and go invisible again.

  • Ill put 50 bucks on these guys being billionaires because of this shit

  • Imagine how many people would be watching your girlfriends while masturbating tho guys so think about that.

  • Haahah yes! Now i will be able to hide that huge porn stash i have under my bed!

  • Am I the only one who didn't know wtf I was supposed to be looking at?

  • @JDMAero i had to replay the whole thing! lol

  • @JDMAero Did you try looking at the silver cube that becomes see-through at 36 seconds??

  • @JDMAero 0:54 , the block is black and then it turns clear, it changes from visible to invisible

  • OOH MAI GAWH.... that s@$# is awesome. but it is gust that thing alone and not a computerize stuff. but he from here it can evolve to that.

  • just ask harry potter for his cloak

  • this is fake, it's called Polarization

  • @Frankangell

here is a scientific paper about this work doi:10.1038/ncomms1176

  • harry potter is way a head of u guys

  • actually there was a clip in a video about optic stealth and a dude was wearing a suit with hundreds of shards of mirror like glass and if in any background it would confuse the eye just as well. you wouldnt be looking at it in a forest because it would just reflect green and brown and it wouldnt be easy to distinquish

  • @MrSyntheticDesign that was on future weapons and that was a system of cameras on the suit.

  • Does a Chameleon reptile possess invisibility powers? Because that is what this is like. Does someone have to look through the special looking glass to experience illusion? They may have something incredible here but the video is not doing a good job of conveying that to the viewer. I see what looks like a smokey glass cube and the smoke is removed from the glass cube so you can see through it. I am sure that must be more to this but like I said the video is not showing that.

  • @randalltomes No a chameleon does not have invisibility powers, it just takes on the colour of the background it is standing in front off. Thus making it harder to spot, this is different. These are two layers of calcite crystal on top of each other. These two layers have an opposite structure, causing polarization. Any objects behind the crystal become invisible. Only problem being that you can only hide objects the size of the crystal. And these crystals are fairly small...

  • Look, I don't give a damn about military uses or world benefits of this; all I want to know is when do I get my Invisibility Cloak???

  • hell yes a real life cloaking device!! I knew we could do it! WE CAN DO ANYTHING!!!

I want one for my iphone!!

  • @YourePrettyGoood if you lose it then i am not sure you'd be able to find it again, especially not if you have it on mute :D

  • Are there people staring around in the water at submarines. No, they are noticed by sound bouncing off them right? Sonar/Radar So unless this invisibility scheme works off actually making a sub invisible instead of just see thru how would it not still be visible to machines. I think he should have stuck with a land based example.

  • Yeaaaah lets hide sub-marines so we can shoot other hidden sub-marines, GREAT IDEA!

  • woot they re-discoverd glass

  • MY GIRLFRIEND IS MISSING!!

  • Damnit why does the inventor mention a military purpose of this device, can't he mention something world-beneficial instead?

  • Oh wow! they RE-discovered the properties of polarized lenses. This video has to be some kinda of joke or something.

  • but... this will be a device the hide something so if you notice the divice then you need a device to hide the divice isnt it?

  • @CactosS

Putting the cloak in a liquid with similar refractive index will make the cloak itself invisible

  • hmmm....i could live in megan fox house....she would just feel it without seeing it ahahah

  • cant wait until i can hide my submarine filled with marijuana

  • Hmm..well so far it appears if anyone needs to make a miniscule panda disappear and they have a room full of billion dollar equipment, YOU'RE GOOD!

  • I missed the part where anything turned invisible.

  • the paper clip attached to the mirror was made invisible so it didn't block the refection of panda and fingers

  • Fucking asians and there god damn math...

  • thank you for your kind compliments

  • these guys really wanted to go into the girls locker room as kids.

  • @blaznspadz only a fagget wouldn't. btw, thx for coming out but we don't care which closet you like.

  • @bineverlast You can't spell faggot, your comment is invalid.

  • Asian people are fucking geniuses

  • What did I just watch? I couldn't really tell if it did anything to anything at all in this video. When they turned on the thing, nothing seemed to happen.

  • its all pretty when you talk like that but unfortanely it will used in war :(

  • I don't think calcite suits are very practical :S

  • Those Chinese....

  • That is neat!

  • NANOSUITS FOR ALL

  • There's also metomaterials, basically a circuit board where the beam refracts around it with no power needed at all

  • sweet i cant wait to use this to spy on hot women!

  • if humanity wakes up one day it'll be a cool device to use for observing certain animals without scaring them away or used to simply teach how light works in classrooms

    but before that it's

just gonna be exploited for war and killing again

  • @kary213 though animals have instincts, they can just feel in their presence that somethings not right, also i agree with you on ur last point

  • @kary213 HELL YEA WAR AND KILLING WOOOOOOOO

  • @irkiIIer jajajajajajaja

  • @kary213 sad but true

  • @kary213 your wrong..It can be used by boys to see women naked in showers! lol

  • @kary213

agreed, and robbing people etc etc, so all in all it's a bad idea. we see things for a reason!

  • @kary213 .

    the glass is half full

  • @kary213 not to mention what happens when perverts get their hands on it.

  • @kary213 ur gay

  • @kary213 spot on!

  • @kary213 theyve already made that for hunters. its kind of like a mirror with a hole in it. it blends very well. the only way you would notice it is to actually be looking for it sorry i cant give more details, i stumbled it n kinda just went "oh, wow, thats cool....NEXT"so....yea

  • @kary213 so true......

  • @kary213 You mean exploited for money and religion, because that's what causes war.

  • @kary213 Wow

  • his name is Shuang Zhang. lol

  • people are fighting for america? These are asians at a college in the uk. uhhhh..... We have nothing to do with this

  • 1:05 or a body

  • I have a better idea, just walk around with a large mirror.

  • We need time machines bro..

  • Still made by Asians though... O.o

  • @Justgoodvids In Communist China, there are no opportunities for YOU!

  • @AviatorZER0 OH Really?

What do we not get in America that is in China?

    1) Free Education

    2) Your child joins the "circus" a 2 years old

    In other Socialist countries:

    1) Free Transportation

    2) Free Education

  • @Justgoodvids what I meant was, the Chinese American scientist could probably never manage this feat in China. Racially, he is "Asian," but since his whole life was made over here, he's an American in my book
