Listen to a Shade 47 interview in 2007 with him called Behind the Boards and he said he listens back to his interviews and songs then and thinks "why was I rapping like that". He was pretty much living out a persona. Because listen to like... "Murder Murder", he has a naturally deeper voice, and that was BEFORE SSLP.

But at the same time it was his style because even though he changed to a deeper voice in 2000 he still kept a high-pitched voice for MMLP and The Eminem Show and he would make it sound deeper with the next album.
