  • i wish these cars made more power. 650 hp is no where near f1 and these have bigger engines too.

  • @cardude1992 TBH, I don't care how much horspower they make, as long as it's between 600-700 and the racing is good.

  • @carsismeZ06 youre right but considering how safe the new cars are going to be, i wouldnt mind if they made them faster by giving them more power.

  • sounds like the guy from funniest home video

  • what the fuck happened. is this the first lap?

  • @titandown 4:50 is danicas car dead?

  • インディカーのオンボードカメラは動くんだw 6:31

  • @sinndobatto 6:31 ? doko desu ka

  • I'm a big fan of F1, but even with the most skilled drivers and the most advanced engineering, watching a F1 race on TV just sucks. Where on earth was Bernie's head when he came up with the idea of "artificial rains"?

  • Here in Brazil we have a stupid race called "Stock Car"... is so, so bad but is better than that shit... Indy is a Joke!

A chuva nada impediu. O que impediu foi a negligencia. A pista do sambodromo tem ressaltos evidentes. Claro que a agua pararia em pocas. QUERO REEMBOLSO!!!!

  • lol its like watching learner drivers

  • why is overtaking the pineaccle of motorsport to you?

  • @tangodale here in the USA, that's how most people think. it's sad really. these cars and drivers are a joke compared to F1.

  • @tangodale

If "overtaking" wasn't important in motorsports, then what's the point in running races in the first place? F1 is the only motorsport in the world where millions of fans pay billions of dollars to watch their favorite drivers play "follow the leader" for about 2 to 3 hours and then celebrate it as the" pinnacle" of auto racing .It's ridiculous! Oh yippee! My favorite driver, Jauques "BLAH,BLAH,BLAH" posted a time of 0:22 in Sector 4 during Q3! Give me a break.

  • @tangodale Isn't the point of motorsports to showcase the best combination of car AND driver? The best racers know that passing is just as important as mastery of the track. F1 isn't racing anymore! It's an arms race. Yes, the machines are amazing. Ridiculously fast times around very difficult courses. But the racing is, to say the very least, boring.

  • @TheMoezilla that depends what your definition of what an enjoyable race is and what makes a race good. I think 2010 was possibly the best season of racing Ive seen in f1 for many, many years, 4 possible championship leaders who could win it in abu dhabi, it was pretty special. This year started really well, the first half the season was good but its slowly tailed off and got more predictable as the tires become more standard and Vettels dominance killed off the chasing pack.

  • @tangodale

I can usually control myself on these comment boards, but sometimes I feel I have to react and defend my favorite motorsports. When some F1 fanboy calls IndyCar a joke, I take offense. And open wheel racing is not even my favorite motorsport! As a huge NHRA fan, I've even had to post a few replies back to the F1 fans reminding them that drag racing and open wheel road racing aren't even comparable.

  • @tangodale

I think two level headed people like you and I can admit this. Throw an accomplished F1 driver into a Top Fuel rail and see if he can make it a 1000 FT to the top end at 325 mph in under 4 seconds without crashing and burning. The same goes for putting a top NHRA driver into a Mclaren F1 and expect him to post a time less than 10:00 around Monza. Let's put both of them in a 250cc SuperCross field and see which one ends in the hospital first!

  • @tangodale

My point is this. Variety in motorsports is what makes it great for all of us fans. Pointing out the shortcomings of Indycar is a easy way to miss seeing all the positive aspects. If I prefer close side by side racing with multiple passes, that doesn't mean it's a more superior form of racing, and vice versa. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and check out the Word Championships of Lawn Mower racing. It puts those pussies in MotoGP to shame!

  • why use this course when they had a perfectly good race track nearby

  • lower level, ha ha ha your joking right, i just watched a video of two F1 teamates crashing into each other on a straight stretch of track by themselves. F1 is a farse, they cant race in traffic because they never have to.

  • @ditz259 you say F1 drivers suck? this race lasted for about 5 seconds untill 10 cars were destroyed in Turn 1 -.-

  • Maybe it's more exciting than some F1 races, but the level is definitely worse. There are plenty of big mistakes that rookies in F1 don't even make. It looks like the GP2 series.

  • @khyn007 "rookies" like....Takuma Sato? #facepalm

  • I am a huuuge f1 fan. but seeing so many movements of indy cars thru road courses is just amazing. I mean F1 had the whole bs no tc, but the ECU still very much controls power delivery. Indy cars just have so much less downforce. and lil car movements in corners is just fantastic.

since the downforce is low, they can stay very close

I think i just became a real Indy fan.. ( still refuse to watch 'circle- circus' like indy 500)

  • Is it mixed sex racing?

  • It's a Big race. But i find than cicuit have been better in next year...

  • Ha ha ha - shit - that is one bumpy road. I just love F1, but this is awsome and an F1 car would never survive a race at that track.. :o)

  • 10/10 rating!

  • man theyre so slow...... an f1 would totally overlap these things in a race haha

  • @123hardcoretyp hahahahaha...but indycars are better reacing than f1, and they have a better topspeed in indy.

  • NASCAR doesnt race when it rains

  • @ReassuringSmile No they have up in Montreal twice during a Nationwide race

  • @CookieDude1178999 the hint behind my comment was is that, they take safety way to far. Im all for the safety, but is it really necessary to put the caution flag out when there is a thin 4 inch piece of rubber from a tire on the track? or rain for that matter?

  • @ReassuringSmile What do you mean take saftey too far? And yes that tiny piece of rubber can really F' up a car when the car is doing 180 mph. Think if someone ran that over, and it got shot up into the crowd. That could kill someone. When it Rains at an oval, cars can't run. The slick tyres hydroplane and rain tyres don't work at ovals, because they're too soft and the right side tyres would just fall apart. But your right, rain should never be a concern at the road courses.

  • @ReassuringSmile thats not true nascar does race in the rain on road courses, they put on treaded tires and one windshield wiper. they dont it on ovals because its too dangerous to do 200 MPH with 43 cars on an oval in the rain. but they do infact run in the rain on road courses.

  • This was an awesome race and a wonderul experience......my wife and I had a great time! It went from sunny and hot (Scorching) to a heavy downfall of rain with thunder, lightning and then sunshine again. Glad they were able to keep on racing!

  • also the track condition of indycar is so poor, i thought it was a rally tack from the start...

  • indy car seems more exciting than F1 because every car are identical, so there are no different in car performance, also the race in a slower pace , so more overtake could happen. for one moment i thought i was watching 1970s F1, coz the car are so slow and react so much to those pump LOL still, F1 is a lot better

  • @marcowong7 thats not true INDY cars are a tad faster than F1, especially top speed, they actually had to put a limit on them because they were hitting 250 mph plus a few years back.

  • Show Pictures ...

    Congratulations!

  • cool!

  • Great!

  • This was a good an exciting race, much better than the boring oval races!

  • Does he say "BITCH!" at 7:12? lol

  • How long takes the race?

  • this was WAY BETTER than the formula 1 race the same day ...

I love both series but that was AWESOME ... !!!

hope to see you coming back to europe some day ... maybe at the EUROSPEEDWAY ...

    keep it up !!!!

DAN WHELDON CANNOT DRIVE YOUR CAR OR ANYTHING OTHER

  • Gostei da corrida, não gostei de terem batido no Kanaan.

DAN WHELDON CANNOT DRIVE YOUR CAR

  • Great race, great circuit! Lots to improve of course but one of the most challenging tracks of the whole season!

  • @infantryofficer lol what?

  • I WAS THERE too....

  • what kind of pacecar is that? no offense but: looks like shit compared to the one from F1

  • at least there was more overtaking in one race than 5 f1 races.

  • @th3orist

Honda Civic Si, 200 HP stock

  • @th3orist Well... you know that Honda make engines to Indy, right? I hope taht you know this. So the pace car is a Honda Civic that they make and sell here in Brazil, then since the race is in Brazil they wanted to show it in the race so ppl would, maybe, buy it, do u understand this? it's called publicity if u didn't know.

Now stop comparing F1 and Indy, dam noob! Indy pwned F1, this race had more overtakes than in 10 years of F1 races -.-"

  • @Willbrse

just chill dude, i did only compare the pacecars not the racecars.

in fact imho the indycars look much better than the f1-cars at the moment.

and when it comes to the question what series and what seasons is my favourite, then i would answer: the ppg-indycar seasons 1993 till 1995

  • @th3orist hm it's ok.. i'm just tired of stupid ppl who think that understand everything about races since they watch only F1... anyway sorry.

  • Whats the better car (overall) Indy, or F1?

  • @Sirradal It's not about "better car" it's about "better race" "exciting race where you see drivers/cars fighting"

Did you watch V8 Supercars? Super GT? They pwn F1 easly

  • I've never seen a V8 Supercar, or Super GT race. I understand you now. You want it to be more competitive. I agree with you.

  • @Sirradal These race series does not have official highlights in youtube then it's bit hard to find good vids, here the hightlights of Super GT round 1: watch?v=XxbK1Vp0NzI

Race with the new Honda HSV 010 *___* but they crash xD

  • @Willbrse I watched the Super GT vids. That's REAL FUKCED UP what happened to Ota. Bunch of idiots running around making sure the cars are ok, instead of getting the drivers much needed medical attention.

  • @Sirradal Yeah this was so bad! But these things does not happen only in Japan, once I saw a vid about an accident in Spa and noone did a yellow flag, then the cars were coming so fast and crashing, you know Spa...

I also saw another in Watkins Glen, the driver almost died after an accident where noone did a Yellow flag too then when he left his car another one came and almost hited him :S

These things always happened in the past, just hope it won't happen anymore.

  • @Willbrse No. I don't know Spa. Do you mean Spain?

  • @Sirradal I mean spa francorchamps, that freaking fast track that F1 use.

  • @Sirradal I think that F1 and NASCAR have the best rescue teams nowadays.

  • @Willbrse HAHA, only the best drivers in the world could ever dream about driving an F1.....Indy is good but don't you ever compare the two, its like apples and oranges

  • @th3orist The pacecar for Indy races is different at every race.

  • great video!!

  • Comment removed

  • I WAS THERE! just amazing, i've became a indy fan by now, indy has a great competition by using the same engines, cars.. and the f1 sucks cause the ferrari is VERY better than other minor teams

  • deselvestra is going to make all the other woman like castroneves dunno and anna beatriz

  • the cars were bumping more than a motocross race.....

  • WHAT THE HELL?!!! a honda Civic is the pace car?

  • Yeah, it's a shame but here in the third world the Civic is an expensive car and it's SI version is considered to be a sportscar. Once more, it's a shame...

  • @cmtecarvalho Like there's no better car "here in the third world"? The Formula 1 GP will have a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG for safety car...

  • @fabriciozu Sure, the Mercedes SLS AMG (brought from Europe) used in F1 is, for brazilians, as affordable as the Star Trek's Enterprise spaceship...

  • @cmtecarvalho So what? The pace car was never meant to be bought by brazilians, whether it's a Honda, a Mercedez or a Beetle. Can't you see any Ferrari, Porsche or any other fancy car distributor in Sao Paulo?

  • @cmtecarvalho

    LOL, sad but true.

  • @cmtecarvalho "shame" é uma pessoa como vc comentando... o q a Honda fez é chamado de "marketing" caso o ignorante ae não saiba... puts vc é ridiculo...

  • One Indy lap is more spectactular than a complete Bahrein Formula 1 race!

  • @patatroper666 entire f1 season too

  • @patatroper666

    what do u think why?

    1. different course (bahrain is not a course in a city)

    2. rain.

    3. only one (or two) chasis ->> this is like formula3 or GP2

    4. the drivers are icompared with F1 drivers wilder (amatueres)

u could see at at the last example with bourdais... IRL champ but no chance against a rookie teammate in F1;)

    last but not least:

it is like roulette.. too much pacecar. the teams cant show how good they are because of safety cars like here...

  • @patatroper666

u cant compare F1 and Indy car.

yeah i agree (at the last race)

but if u want compare indy cars with other series u must take A1 GP, GP2, formula 3. they have the same chasis....

but a main reason why indy car was/is so spectacular is

too much pace cars. (that makes the thrill if a leader losees all to the second an the rest of a field..

and at this race, the rain was also a important reason...;)

  • @patatroper666 hahaha yeah Bahrain was boring but other F1 races were fun to

  • @patatroper666 Couldn´t agree more my friend. And i never saw Penske "asking" Castroneves to let Power overtaking him at the last lap.

  • @patatroper666 No doubt about it.

  • @patatroper666 have you watched any other F1 race?

  • @patatroper666 have you watched any other F1 race? 1 lap at any F1 race other than Valencia is better than the Bahrain race with the new corners unfortunately

  • @patatroper666 Yea because these bad drivers in the back of the Indycar field don't know how to drive...

  • Comment removed

  • @prouck

Over half of the races on the IZOD scedule were road or streets courses.

  • @patatroper666 but thats the fault of that crappy track in bahrein

  • what a wonderful day!!!

  • I'll watch Indy again...when they come out with the new car formula. These cars suck! TG really messed things up.

  • These cars are overtaking each other! I'm shocked.

Should have watched this instead of the Bahrain bore that was f1

  • オーマイガー

  • INDY CARS IS OFFICIALLY BETTER THEN f1!!!!!!

  • @SSdopeBoyS hahahahah you are so funny, f1 cars have sooooo much more technology, this cars are just reg carts close to a F1

  • @SSdopeBoyS Hardly

  • This is so Much better than F1 and im from England, The overtaking was Awersome and they can follow each other so close, F1 needs to take note, also the Track was class, what a Race!!

  • @fordwrc2006

I am from America and your an idiot.

  • cant be bother to watch this crap lol

  • F1 has nothing to offer compare to indy! This was an AMAZIN race, F1's boring now.

  • Nice win 4 Will Power Unfortunate 4 Ryan :( Go Team Penske & also Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi.

  • does the white slag american have to suck off every paying enthusiasts for each lap she's down?

  • Can't believe I missed the season opener. The IndyCar Series is looking good for 2010. A sellout crowd and a title sponsor.

  • What a race!

  • You're not going to wave checkered flags? Really? If God is a race fan, whoever thought it was a good idea to sell out the checkered flag is going to hell.

  • Awesome race! GREAT!

  • great race from start to finish. Quite possible the best street course race in IRL history.

  • The online broadcast sucked! They missed 3/4 passes on the film, totally missed the big straightaway, JUST SHOW THE TV BROADCAST ONLINE BECAUSE SOME OF US DONT HAVE CABLE OR SATELLITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great race, too bad i missed all the passes...

  • agreed. I missed everything. "Here's some epic pass" Great...show it.

  • Corrida du caralho. Eu estive lá para conferir tudo de perto.

  • A corrida foi boa, mas eu fiquei impressionado com a quantidade de trepidações na pista. Espero que ano que vem deêm um jeito nesse asfalto.

  • great racing

  • Great race... I was sad about TK though.

  • Man what kind of track is that? Its a offroad race? Dakar race? The dust at start line and lots of ripples on track. Too bad and dangerous for the pilots. I don´t liked.

  • Pode falar sua língua materna. Não tenha vergonha. LOL

  • @achristianini man, the dust is cause by the scratches on the concrete in the night before the race!

watch f-1 and you will see that they run in VERY worst conditions

  • Given that the day before there was so little grip that the cars were spinning off in a straight line through there, I don't think dust is really an issue. It's no worse than the spray from the tires in wet weather racing.

  • Awesome race !!!

  • Great race, love that track, too many street races start off with a wreck, they need to figure this out.

  • Great race

  • no tilke s shitting track +

    no extreme aerodinamic +

    no compounds triks +

    no shitting engine rules +

no shitting ban refueling rule =

True Races, no fucking boring f1

    so sad for f1 fans.

  • Very vulgar but I agree with your point

  • Euuu Fuiii....Muito Foda...

Parabens a todos que contribuiram para trazer essa maravilha para SP.

  • Muito legal mesmo. Superou todas as espectativas. Mais ultrapassagens que a temporada passada da F1 toda.

E assistir tudo lá do Anhembi foi espetacular!!! Ano que vem vou de novo!!

  • I started the day just hoping that Vitor Meira or Ryan Hunter-Reay had a really good showing. Imaging how happy I was with this outcome!

  • @donpatos And yet you watch it on youtube, lol @ the irony.

  • of course, how many cars got trashed??

    LOL

better destruction than nascar for sure

  • I`m not looking for beautyful cars... I'm looking for copetition, and this race was awesome! I was there!!!

  • Ugly cars are irrelevant. Good racing is what matters. I'd rather watch this than the much nicer-looking F1 cars(yes, even the current-spec F1 cars are better-looking than the Dallara)

And DirecTV DID show it as Versus was back on the service in time for the rebroadcast.

  • While I would prefer the season start on an oval in the States (with this as the SECOND race), it was a good race. Unlike most street courses, there were plenty of passing opportunities and a lot of passing for position on the track...not just in the pits. A great start to the season.

Now, Versus and DirecTV need to settle their little feud so more people can SEE this racing. The IRL will never gain momentum if nobody can see the races...

(DirecTV customers, come on over to Dish Network.)

  • The Versus/DirecTV issue was resolved in time for DirecTV subscribers to catch the rebroadcast. Assuming they heard about it in time, that is.

  • Yep...I heard about them working things out Monday evening...interesting how it just happened to occur within a day and a half of the Brazil race... It's good for the series. Now the profile of Versus needs to be raised. It and the IRL could grow together the way ESPN and NASCAR did in the '80s and 90s...

Oh, and by plugging Dish Network, I'm hoping to get a break on next month's bill...(ain't gonna happen)

  • Given the Comcast is buying a controlling interest in NBC Universal, things can only go up for Versus. For unforseen reasons it does seem like the IRL made quite a good move with this choice, though it nearly became a disaster. Once all the details are sorted out, Randy Bernard has indicated chances are good of seeing several IRL races bumped up to NBC(and Bernard knows the Comcast people well, so if that what he says they've indicated, I believe it).

  • Good lord that first corner really was trouble, I knew it.

  • lookin forward to Toronto

  • they need to have standing starts in this series.

  • Agreed on non-ovals. Keep the rolling starts for the roundy-rounds. There's a big call for standing starts on non-ovals but XTrac(the transmission supplier) has voiced concerns about them with their current unit. With a new formula coming for 2012 they're not going to spend the time making a whole new transmission for this engine, so don't expect anything before 2012. Unless XTrac manages to work some magic with the current unit.

  • 1. They need to kick out Mario Moraes.

    2. They should have started the race at the next straight, parallel to the pits, where it was wide enough to have a start.

    Otherwise, great race.

  • Moraes is a skilled driver. He had 3 straight Top 5s last year (otherwise, only the Penskes, the Ganassis, Danica, and Kanaan did that in 2009).

Dunno needs to be shown the door. Especially when Graham Rahal, Paul Tracy, Oriol Servia, Tomas Scheckter, Buddy Rice, Bruno Junqueira, Townsend Bell, and Robert Doornbos are on the outside looking in.

  • Moraes can be quick, but can be so careless. A modern day Gerhard Burger. He at least needs sanctions to keep him from crashing into people and risking their safety. Remember Toronto last year? He spun someone on the warm-down lap and didn't get any penalty, if I remember correctly. The IRL needs to be harsher in punishment. Maybe not kick him out. That maybe have been harsh on my part.

  • Like I said, there are much bigger (and slower) fish to fry than Moraes. At least he can race competitively. Kinda like Paul Tracy; checkers or wreckers (and PT eventually won the 2003 title!) The IRL are a laughing stock in Europe because they have not revoked Dunno's license. Why is she out there? Why does she want to embarass herself that badly?

And "Burger"? The spelling is Gerhard BERGER.

  • As soon as I posted it, I realized my spelling error. But I really don't care. People misspell my name all the time. You knew who I was talking about.

She's there because she has money. It says a lot in America, and it shows that the IRL are and have been desprerate, but hopefully the new rule changes for 2012 (and hopefully more road races) and more sponsors will get them out of the ditch.

  • What bothers me more than Milka Duno on the track(she has SOME talent, it's just below IRL level - she's suited for Daytona Prototypes at most, and even THAT'S pushing it), is that while it's obvious why Citgo is sponsoring her -she's Venezuelan and she's come to be known as one of the nicest drivers in the paddock- there's the far more talented E.J. Viso who's also quite popular amongst fans in the paddock. Why doesn't Citgo move it's money to HIM?

  • True... In the Daytona Prototypes, Milka had teammates to help her look good on the track. She's not un-talented, but the idea of her racing on superspeedways at 220+ with open wheels scares the heck out of me. There's no margin for error, unlike sports cars or even stock cars. She should have started in Indy Lights to see if she could cut it in open wheel, before moving to the "big cars". Her second open wheel race was the Indy 500. As for why Citgo won't sponsor Viso, I don't have a clue...

  • When it comes to Duno and DPs, I discount every finish she had with Andy Wallace as a teammate. Her biggest flash of brilliance was her second place the 2007 Daytona 24, where two of her three teammates were average drivers at best and there is telemetry from a nighttime stint showing her posting consistently faster lap times than Juan Pablo Montoya.

  • im agree with you.. except in the "milka duno has talent" part XD

  • I'll simply point again to the '07 Daytona 24 result. In a 24 hour race, a no-hope driver is guaranteed to kill any chance at a 2nd-place finish. Not only does the finish itself show evidence of talent, so does the fact that there were periods where she outpaced Juan Pablo Montoya, a driver who has won in literally every type of car he's ever raced. It's proof of a fair amount of talent. Not necessarily a massive amount since we're not talking about a solo effort, but it's proof that it's there.

  • Maybe, but she has no talent to drive an IndyCar ride. She was 10+ secs slower than the others in every single race in 2009 and now in sao paulo. She needs go back to Turismo Cars

  • THAT I agree with. Like I said, she has talent, but it's BELOW IRL level.

  • @DBoy02 yea but montoya gets schooled in Nascar, hes only won one race ever and that was only because the car in first ran out of gas! it wasnt an oval race either.

  • @ninjafatballz And yet he still made the Chase last year. Montoya's lack of wins are NOT an indicator of his skill, it's been more an indicator of his luck. He should have won the Brickyard 400 last year, but he got hit by a speeding penalty in pit lane and couldn't recover. Several other races he nearly had in the bag were lost to green-white-checker finishes(a rule I've hated since it was first announced). Just because someone hasn't won a race doesn't mean they're getting "schooled."

  • @DBoy02 dont get me wrong im a big fan of Montoya, im just trying to get a point across that F1 drivers are NOT superior to all others, Nigel Mansell might be an exception, I also think F1 cars are too advanced and take away driver skill, INDY cars are more of a drivers car IMO.

  • @ninjafatballz I do agree that F1 drivers are not superior to all others. But Montoya's one of the ones who clearly has the talent to succeed just about anywhere. Current F1 cars I think put a lot more of the driver's skill into the equation, but during Montoya's time in the series there was definitely a lot of the car taking away from the driver.

  • @DBoy02 fair enough.

  • esto si es show, la F1 tendria q aprender de estas carreras...

  • excelente carrera!
