Ok, so yes this trailer is balls because it makes it look like an action film but it has clips from scenes that were edited out the final film!

I love the film so much, it's a complete masterpiece and would love to see the original 4 hour cut with the crowd/riot scene, "it's gruesome being hunted Bob" and "Know what it is you're most afraid of?" scenes.

They´ve simply selected all the scenes with guns, robbery and crowds

The actual movie is brilliant - located in the 1880s midwest it is not a classical western but a fine profile of zeitgeist and charakter development.

A true masterpice regarding acting, photography and pace!!!

You're right about the positives of the film, but its far from a 'marketing fail', especially if you're talking about its less than grand reception and failures in the Oscars which were totally biased. This is why they made two versions, you draw in both sides of the spectrum, box office collects, and then take the burns from the critics who felt misled later, because besides, they can only contest that they were misled as for it being an action film, but can they say it wasnt good? You see?

yeh i noticed that, like when he aims the gun at the end which isnt in the film. This trailer is a bit weird actually, i cant figure out why it has shawshank redemption music score on it at the start, and the trailer overall is no where near as good as the other trailer that actaully shows the proper film.

Whoever put this together is a despereate studio marketing guy trying to catch public who likes action movies. You know what this usually causes? The first flock of disappointed viewers tell everybody else to stay away.

Warner has a long tradition of marketing people who don't really care about the director's opinion. The most famous story about this is Stanley Kubrick's marketing for "A clockwork orange" gathering a gigantic public to the film, and Warner's marketing guys replying: "oh, he's just a lucky pain in the ass. This movie was supposed to have flopped".

It looks interesting, and I especially love that they've made Affleck wear the same styled hat that Ford wore when he killed Jesse. But I don't like where history reports James was shot in the head from behind, but looks like he turns around in the movie face-to-face.
