  • Meatball subs one of my favorite sandwiches of all times.

  • Awesome

  • Betty, I love this recipe. I want to make it for my mom, but sausage upsets her stomach. Do you have any suggestions for spices I could use with plain beef, so this can still have some great flavor?

  • @ishkeverone Use a small amount of ground red pepper; then. crush some dried parsley, dried chives, garlic powder, and dried cumin together. This should give a nice flavor, and you don't need to use the sausage.

  • Hi betty do you have to use sausage? Or can you just make the meatball with ground beef because thats all i have right now :P

  • @kamkam604 You may use ground beef only; it won't be quite as spicy, but very good.

  • Hi Betty,

How come no egg or bread crums with meat balls? The sandwich does look good though. Keep Smiling and pass it on to others.

  • @watchthatbaby This is just one way to make the sandwich. You may add an egg and breadcrumbs, if you like.

those sandwiches look awsome..and very tasty also..Hmmmm

    ty,

  • Where is the seasoning in the meatballs? When you mix together you should add salt and pepper, along with herbs, parsley, oregano. And if your using pork, sage is a great seasoning. Also blitz 3 slices of bread into crumbs and add a beaten egg, it makes a great mixture, classic meatballs with flavour! Nice vid Betty :)

  • YUMMY!!!

  • hey betty do we really need the peppers?

    i hate peppers thats why

  • @10Dante4 No, you can leave the peppers out. It will taste a little different, but it will be very good!

  • Im making this for dinner tonight for my family it looks like a great recepie. Off subject but some sort of backsplash behind your stove top across that wall would look fantastic in your kitchen....something like tile, rock or glass. I have no idea what made me think of that when I was watching your video.

  • The backsplash behind my stove is the same material as the countertops. It washes easily. Thanks for your thoughts on it!

  • Darn!

I'm trying to make meatballs for tonights pizza (sliced meatballs as a topping) and we don't have the sausage up here in Canada in those tubes.

That explains so many recipes I've seen saying to use ground sausage so I'd be grinding small breakfast sausages with the kitchenaind.

Now I know what they meant hehe!

  • I'm sorry you can't find sausage in casings in Canada. Maybe if you ask around a bit you'll find something similar. I hope so!

    --Betty :)

  • Your house is so clean. Are you cooking in a model/show home? I mean where is all your stuff, you don't even have a pile of newspapers on the table.

  • This is my home--and there occasionally is a pile of newspapers on the table. Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, I can't wait to try your meatball recipe! Looks so good!

  • Thanks! We really enjoy it! And the meatballs are much easier to make than most. If you want to make it easier, you can leave out the sauted green pepper and garlic. it will still taste *very* good, and be super simple to make! Thanks for staying in touch!

    --Betty :)

  • looks very good :) did u get a new camera?

  • Thanks! No new camera--maybe Rick is getting better at the camera work!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks delicious. I may try that with some turkey meatballs. What kind of chips are those on the plate?

  • That would be great with turkey meatballs! Those were some cheddar-flavored rice cakes. I was short on time, so I didn't mention any of the accompaniments. Thanks for viewing and commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • looks very nice!!!! who needs to spend £5 at subway-you could feed a family of 4 for that!! :)

  • That's what I think, too! And you get to control exactly what goes in it! Thanks for commenting!
