With regards to this video i would call this popping. maby there is some punking in there but i didnt watch the whole vid. I love these sort of cultural discourse! Hey guys remember some marketing record executives invented most Genre names. PUnking comes from a batteling dance model (like you just got punked), it was done to funk music and disco in the 70's it was mostly Latino and from L.A. and the Bay area.

Some of the originators of this dance form were what was called disco punks. they listened to funk, post punk, new wave and proto hip-hop electro funk , which were all related by being heavily into electronic instruments in the early 80's, Freestyle came in the mid 80's, then house, uk acid house The all morfed into the rave scene in the uk and went way inderground in the US as it was way african american latino and gay. in second thought Look up Malcolm Mclaren. he sums it up in my op.

To me punk dancing should be related to punk music. If it's a different kind of music (or even dance style like "BeaJay" said),... it should be called dancing, but not punk dancing... because like I said there was NO Punk Music Involved,
