I shot one at a gun range where they let you rent guns, it's a pretty fun gun and i fucked that target up. Medium range I aimed head and kept almost every bullet in the target, and at max range i aimed chest and still kept almost every bullet in target. If that was a real human at 40 yards away they'd be in some serious shit.

I just saw this comment, and thought I'd back you up.

The reason the MP5 is one of the best SMG's in the world, is that i fires from a closed bolt, which makes it much more precise, than for instance an UZI, which fires from an open bolt. Hope that settled the argument :)

It's a fun gun, but if you must have a submachinegun, I'd go with the Kriss Super-V...that is if they were civilian transferable.  That said the MP5 is a really fun gun. As for 1911's, I have to say they're great guns but their 'crowd' is super-biased. In the end, I wonder if you get what you pay for with those pricey custom 1911's.

You kinda contradicted yourself in the title by saying Heckler/Koch MP5. Even though the HK5 and MP5 are the same gun, most people call it either an HK5 or MP5, not an HK MP5. MP5 meaning Machine Pistol Mk5 is the SOCOM/Police term. HK5 meaning Heckler and Koch Mk5 is the factory/public name for it.
