I don't get it. I believe in God, but I just choose not to worship him for reasons. My boyfriend (a devout Christian) broke up with me because of it. He would read to me from the Bible and I would sit there and listen.

I think Christians were put out into the world to preach to those who need to know God. God is more patient with us then we are with him. I think we should try to bring them to God. I can't just make myself believe that there is a god. No one can force themselves to believe anything. I would give it another chance in a heartbeat if I actually believed it would do any good. To DownInAhole91083, maybe I am sheltered-I think we all are in the west to a certain extent but no: I was not homeschooled and I actually lived with some of the world's poorest people in Nepal for 4 years. And I have read up on evolution and happen to agree with it. I'm still a christian, though and insults are not going to change that.

I think Christians were put out into the world to preach to those who need to know God. God is more patient with us then we are with him. I think we should try to bring them to God. We also need to pray for them and believe that through prayer, faith, and Jesus they can get to know him one day and let him do the rest of the work.

If you realised that the definition of arrogant is 'having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities', and defining traits of God being both omnipotence and being the creator then perhaps you'd like the rethink your opinion.

Seems with all you religious folk, you love shoving your beliefs down the throats of others instead of just trying to coexist peacefully. If I truly live a good life, and never hurt anyone or anything, does not believing in some higher power really matter? No. You were not asking me a question. You said that the devil took possession of me. That's an accusation, not a question. Why would I want to hail Satan? IF there was a god, he would be a giant asshole for a number of reasons. The rules that the church claims "god" has instated are ludicrous at best. But this is only a reason to hate god. I claim to worship Satan because it gets under people's skin.

As far as I'm concerned, creationism is just as good an idea of how things started as the big bang theory, or any of those other theories. There are a number of other things, however, that cause me to not believe in the existence of a god. If there is a god, and he happens to be the god of the christian church, then he is an arrogant asshole and should not be worshiped, but revolted against.

I can't just make myself believe that there is a god. No one can force themselves to believe anything. I would give it another chance in a heartbeat if I actually believed it would do any good. But my beliefs have severely changed and I cannot condone many of the church's actions and teachings because they greatly conflict with what I now believe.
