  • @IluvSixtiesPontiacs Hey, Dave! That's an interesting sidelight....I guess it shows that management was sensitive to consumer complaints at that time. As second only to Cadillac in the heirarchy at GM, I guess they were pretty sensitive to comparison! Now, methinks it's survival of the fittest regarding each individual brand...sell in numbers, or perish! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Albeit, this was the entry-level Buick, it was still by-no-means cheap ( compared to a Chevrolet or Pontiac of the time )! My grandfather's first Buick was a '65 Riviera GS, and it cost $5,850 new! Of course, that was with most if not all of the options they had at the time..

  • @Sarcasticscum Hey, Nathan! Indeed...one had to graduate to a Buick...next only to Cadillac in the GM heirarchy! And the Riviera was certainly a very special Buick!

    Thanks! :) Jack

  • love the whitewalls.

  • @KyphosisKiel Hey, Kiel! No car was really cool without whitewalls at the time!

Funny how things change! Thanks! :) Jack
