Yes that's right, and as Christians we understand clearly after reading how the NT supercedes the OT, and understanding the prophecies of Christ's coming, and the trend from human failings/violence, to forgiveness and peach, that those descriptions of violence are in no way a command to go do violence.
Which is why there's no worldwide problem with Christian terrorists.

No conservative hopes the *country* fails, that's exactly the point. Obama's big govt philosophies though, if enacted, would be more of the huge debt, big spend, let govt take care of you direction that has put us right where we are (done by both parties btw).
liberalism/collectivism/socialism... it doesn't work because those ideas punish achievement and reward nonproductivity. So in hoping Obama's vision falls on its face, we're hoping the country succeeds.

At some things... he prevented another 9/11, which is saying something.
At other things, like being conservative... he failed big time. He went along with congress' huge spending, and he didn't do enough to force congress (largely democrat policy) to clean up the GSE mess before it came crashing down.
That's really why the economy is in a mess... government regs forced GSE's to back loans that they knew wouldn't be repaid, motivating grossly irresponsible behavior.

There was an attempt to take down the Brooklyn Bridge with cutting torches following 9-11, but this was thwarted by our alert homeland security services.
I'm told there were many other attemts as well, but they got little or no press because they were not nearly as spectacular or successful as 9-11.

yep you were just told. i just looked that up and there was no attempt on the bridge. there was a alleged plan to take down the bridge but as you do further research even torching 2 of the main cables wouldn't bring down the bridge. Dont just "listen" to people do your research.

rredhawk is correct... the heritage foundation and others have many documented, foiled terror attack attempts on the US. Lib media doesn't carry the stories so liberals never hear them. When they do, they're typically just ignored or sluffed off as meaningless.
BUT, if any of them had been successful you can bet the farm they'd be all over Bush shouting for impeachment.

But if you're talking tv, you're crazy. Every mainstream news outlet on tv is liberal except for Fox. Even Fox isn't conservative, but mixed. Still far too many concessions given to liberals on that station for my tastes. lol

Wait a minute... that's not the issue. We ARE in Iraq per UN resolution 1441. The question is did you support the war effort, or did you want us to pull out and lose? I'm not focusing on you, but rather pointing out how similar that is to Rush saying he wants Obama to fail.

in the end i think that the country needs to see changes bigger than any democrat OR republican has the nuts to do. i do not hope for any president with hopes for the best of the country to fail. also i'd like to point out ( though it won't change minds) people screaming about socialism fail to realize we have many socialist aspects, things the government provides for us already like roads and postage - not to mention 13 years of "socialist" education. is adding health care really so socialist?

Yes.
Govt should only be in the business of protecting our basic rights: Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness.
Rights don't require anyone else's rights to be infringed. As soon as we start confusing needs with rights, & govt tries to provide needs... then that automatically requires someone else to pay for them. This is taking from one, to give to another.
That is rights infringement...

have you even looked into obama's plan for healthcare? it does not infringe the rights of the people. the people still get to choose if they want their current plan or the government plan. To say the government shouldnt allow its citizens to get the same treatment federal employees get is in my opinion, not protecting the general welfare of the people.

CVK, govt mandated health care automatically requires them to start creating minimum standards, determining product content, and setting requirements for who has to buy it, etc.
This interference, just like all other govt interference will have unintended consequences.
Just like current programs, govt will start telling businesses how much they'll pay for products, instead of fair market. Prices of other products rise, etc.
Govt interference = fail.
Prove me wrong.
