@maxglobz You misunderstand the terms. The people who refer to themselves as agnostic are actually atheist, because there are only two types of people: Those who believe that there is a god, and everyone else. "Everyone Else" includes BOTH those who say "I disbelieve in God" and those who say "I don't know". The rule is, if you can say "I believe", then you are theistic. ANYTHING ELSE is atheist.
I would say though, that I'm an active disbeliever. I think God and Jesus are nonsense.
@OccamKant Then who created the earth. You can say oh christmas is about Santa, when it is actually about Christ and oh there's an easter bunny, but easter is Christ's resurrection.
@maxglobz Easter is actually the Christians stealing the Esther festival - a pagan worshipping of the goddess Esther. Christmas is actually a kidnapping of a pagan holiday called "yule".
Who created the earth? No one. Gravity caused the earth to be formed.
@maxglobz Gravity isn't something apart from the rest of the things in the universe, to be created separately. It is something that is a byproduct of matter. Anything with mass has gravity. Just like when you heat something enough, it gives off light.
@OccamKant Also how come there is ghosts in houses and sometimes demons (spirits). How come houses are haunted, that must mean there is an afterlife, I have seen ghosts and it scared me, how come there is polgereist and how come in some houses there is an afterlife, there still there even though there dead. There is heaven, purgatory (earth) and hell, they are very real. Nothing created something, something created something (us). Atheism makes no sense.
@maxglobz There are no ghosts or demons in houses. I'll be anyone $100,000 that I can spend a night in the haunted house of your choice and never encounter any spirit or demon.
If you think you're seeing spirits, I'd have to say you're hallucinating.
(continued from previous post) You would think that a perfect creator, who knows the intellectual shortcomings of his creation, would have "inspired" one of the Biblical authors to write a preface detailing how to discern between literal and figurative passages. You would think that an entity who is supposedly so concerned over what we believe, and makes what we believe a condition of our salvation, would make sure that his message would be clear and straightforward.
OccamKant, I love the fact that you spend so much time just on the dilemma of what passages within the Bible should be taken literally and which ones should be construed figuratively. After all, much of what we find objectionable or unbelievable about Christianity, or any other religion, for that matter, does hinge on this question. The answer to the issue is clearly not self-evident (continued).
There is only one other part - it was 16 minutes when I recorded it, and youtube doesn't allow me to do more than 10 minutes (how do you get that extended, anyway?).
My name is from Immanuel Kant, which I believe is pronounced "Cont", so "Occam Cont".
Third - yes, this is my hometown of Vancouver, and it's my current view (though it may be changing soon, we'll see).
As far as I know the only way to get more than 10 minutes is to be a YouTube partner. I have wanted to visit Vancouver sometime, I am in Portland, OR. perhaps if this conversation goes well we should get together sometime.
So your username is a combination of a 18th century philosopher and a scientific principle? nice.
@RationalRoundtable Well, two philosophers actually - William of Occam, and Immanuel Kant. ;) I guess I could be viewed as putting on airs by taking these two great thinker's names as my own, but what the hell, it's only youtube. ;)
MASS= Gravity

Are you also agnostic? You don't know or sure if they're is a God or Jesus...

@OccamKant That doesn't make sense what created gravity; God created gravity, god created everything.

@maxglobz "HOW WOULD YOU FUCKING KNOW!!!"
How would I know what? At least quote part of the message you're responding to.

@OccamKant How would you know if there is no ghosts or spirit/polgereists in houses, try spending a night in a haunted house and then you'll see.
maxglobz 1 year ago
@maxglobz I'm pretty sure there are no ghosts, just like there are no leprechauns, no santa and no tooth fairy.
I've gone into "haunted" houses and haven't seen anything.
Maybe ghosts are afraid of skeptics?

Do you have asperger's syndrome? That's one of the characteristics of it, taking things literally.

So this video is only directed to someone name Michael? Can your viewers still participate in this discussion?

@OS253 Sure - This is specifically directed to RationalRoundTable, but I would be more than happy to have any Christian answer the questions. :)

Hey, great questions! Obviously I will not be answering in text, but I need to know two things...
First how many parts will this first installment be? I ask because you did not have a chance to detail all your questions in this one.
Second, how do you pronounce your username? (AH-KAM-KANT?)
Third... what city is that behind you? is this the view from your home? if so I am jealous!!!
